Socrates
Over the last several days I have been reading about Socrates (yes the Greek philosopher). Some of the facts that I learnt in the process was amazing. He was a stone mason and did not know how to read and write. He was much misunderstood during his lifetime and his death sentence is testimony to that.
Plato was his most famous student because of whom we get to learn about him. In spite his lack of reading or writing skills he thought hard and he thought long. There are stories about how he would keep standing at a place for hours deep in his thoughts.
His method is one of asking questions and in the process getting to the real answer. Thoughts from a naked unshackled mind at some level attempts to do the same. Read the book and see how many of these thoughts are thoughts you should be thinking that are relevant now.
As a parting note here is one of his thoughts
“The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing.” - Socrates
