Dear Sherrie,
I just finished reading your novel. I really enjoyed it. What a page-turner. I completed it in only 4–really 3+1/2 days. I continually had to discover what happened to the characters next.
Far from being mere mouthpieces, they were each real human beings with all a real human being’s combination of gifts and flaws. These, possessed more gifts, of course!
Rather than the two dimensional story we all too often learn of on TV or in the newspapers, you made the struggle in El Salvador truly come alive–both the land herself and the people living there.
You wrote a very lovely, poignant and memorable tale. Through seeing my gushy, purple words, you can tell I am absolutely sincere in my words of congratulations.

Trump’s America
Yup, this is where we have gotten too. Two old, fat, Deplorable white men at a Trump rally wearing “I’d rather be a Russian than a Democrat” t-shirts. I sent this picture to my sister who said she would love to help these two “fine” gentlemen out by paying for their Uber ride to the airport should they decide to buy a one-way ticket to Moscow. They won’t. As with all things Trump from the man himself to his old, fat, white, redneck followers their mouths (and t-shirts) are writing checks their ass can’t cash.

I saw this one coming from 10,000 miles away. From the very beginning of his “reign” people within his administration, and those in his circle of “powerful friends” have all defended The Donald the same way, he is a newbie to this Presidential thing. We can’t expect him to know how political stuff works, stuff like the Bill of Rights or the Constitution. He is a businessman not a politician. We need to cut him some slack, give him a little leeway.
