So Glad to Be Back!

I’ve been gone a few weeks because of a glitch. Seems I’m always having one of some kind or another. You may notice a few changes. I hope you like them!

How to Remember Your Ideas When You’re Falling Asleep—or Waking Up!

Excellent post for us writers! And for us dreamers!

Sherrie Miranda’s historically based, coming of age, Adventure novel “Secrets & Lies in El Salvador” is about an American girl in war-torn El Salvador:

Her husband made a video for her novel. He wrote the song too:

I always sleep with a notebook next to me. Most of my stories stem from my dreams, and I’ve learned how to keep notes during the night without waking up the missus. This has also helped me with remembering my dreams the next morning when I write them down in more detail.

So, I was intrigued by this idea for a guest post, courtesy of Adam Kyle, a sleep expert at MattressReviews.net. A workaholic by nature, it wasn’t until his late twenties that Adam realized the importance of sleep for his health. At that point, he focused on learning everything he could about sleep. Now, Adam specializes in how his environment and his physical well-being affect his sleep. A San Francisco native, he finds the sounds of the city soothing and struggles to get to sleep in quieter environments.

I hope you find it useful and it will help with your…

SO, SO TRUE! Don’t trust your baby to just anyone!

Alison Williams Writing

when kpis turn to poison

As I have said many times, I love my clients. I love working with them and I feel privileged that they choose to share their writing with me. I am often the first person to have read their work and I really appreciate how brave that can be.

So I do feel a little bit protective towards the writing community. And I am a little tired of seeing people taking advantage of these lovely writers.

I have seen lots and lots of people recently selling their services to writers. Not a problem – it’s what I do. But increasingly these people have no experience whatsoever – they just seem very, very good at giving the impression that they do.

Now, I have no problem with entrepreneurs, or people trying to make a living. What I do have a problem with is people who have maybe written one or two books…

Dreams on the sky

Dream, dream, dream …

forgottenmeadows

Paint your dreams on the sky

with gentle strokes of the breeze

that caress your mind…

let your thoughts splatter,

with the wild brush of unrestrained emotions,

Open like the blue vastness above you,

let your heart fold around the curvature of the earth,

spread your love …

Paint your dreams on the sky.

A Time to Write and a Time to Not Write – by C. S. Lakin…

This is true, but sometimes we have to figure out how to get back to the writing. That’s been the tough one for me!

on Live Write Thrive:

For everything, there is a season. So says the wise writer of Ecclesiastes (King Solomon). Some of us were first introduced to this aphorism with the Byrds’ famous song “Turn, Turn, Turn.” I think as we get older, we truly understand the truth about seasons in our lives. They are part of the natural cycle of things, and while we often buck the cycle, we do better if we ride with it.

What am I talking about? The seasons of writing and refraining from writing. Just as there is “a time to plant and a time to reap, a time to laugh and a time to weep,” there is a time to write and a time to not write.

“Just watch!” Oh we are. We all are.

Ends and Beginnings

trump putin got “Wow, just learned in the Failing New York Times that the corrupt former leaders of the FBI, almost all fired or forced to leave the agency for some very bad reasons, opened up an investigation on me, for no reason & with no proof, after I fired Lyin’ James Comey, a total sleaze! Funny thing about James Comey. Everybody wanted him fired, Republican and Democrat alike. After the rigged & botched Crooked Hillary investigation, where she was interviewed on July 4th Weekend, not recorded or sworn in, and where she said she didn’t know anything (a lie) the FBI was in complete turmoil (see N.Y. Post) because of Comey’s poor leadership and the way he handled the Clinton mess (not to mention his usurpation of powers from the Justice Department). My firing of James Comey was a great day for America. He was a Crooked Cop who is being totally…

Happy Moments

actress-2868705_1280

By Rickey Rivers Jr.

You ruin those happy moments

because you think they are not real

and are only a dream.

They are real

but like a dream

something you thought

would never come true.

Rickey Rivers Jr was born and raised in Alabama. He is a writer and cancer survivor. His work has appeared in Fabula Argentea, ARTPOST magazine, the anthology Chronos, and Enchanted Conversations Magazine, among others.
