QUEST OF A WARRIOR by Mary Morgan
QUEST OF A WARRIOR
Legends of the Fenian Warriors, Book 1
spinoff from the Order of the Dragon Knights series
by Mary Morgan
Genre: Fantasy Magical Mythology Paranormal Romance
You met them in the Order of the Dragon Knights. Now, journey to the realm of the Fae and witness their legends!
Fenian Warrior, Conn MacRoich has traveled the earth for thousands of years, guarding the realm between mortal and Fae. His deeds are legendary. Yet, one mistake will force him on a journey to fix a broken time-line. However, on Conn’s quest, he must face a human female who will eventually bring this ancient warrior to his knees.
When Ivy O’Callaghan inherits her uncle’s estate, she never imagines there will be more secrets to unravel, including the one she hides from the world. With the help of a mysterious stranger, she learns to trust and step out of the shadows. However, nothing prepares Ivy when she learns Conn's true identity.
As the loom of fate weaves a thread around the lovers from two different worlds, will the sacrifices they make lead them to love? Or will their secrets destroy and separate them forever?

Putting a fist to her mouth to stifle the laughter, Ivy turned when the front door to the pub blew open. The cold blast of air lashed across her face, but she gave no care. Her mouth became dry as the man stood there blocking what little light remained in the sky. His silver-blond wavy hair whipped around his chiseled face shaded by a light beard. Yet, it was those eyes that bore into hers—holding her captive. Were they silver or ice blue? She blinked several times, and swallowed.
The giant stepped into the pub and closed the door. Ivy’s gaze traveled the length of him as he made his way past her to the bar. She couldn’t help but follow him with her eyes. He was sinfully dressed in all black—jeans, boots, leather jacket opened to reveal a black tee. He was magnificent.
“Sweet Brigid,” whispered Erin. “Have the Vikings invaded Glennamore again?”
The woman’s words snapped Ivy out of her lustful trance. She looked at her friend. “Vikings in Glennamore?”
Mac placed her coat over her shoulders and chuckled. “Do not fear they were banished many centuries ago. I’ll go see what the Viking wants. I’m sure he’s only passing through and needs a pint and some food. There’s nothing in Glennamore to raid.”
The room blurred, and Ivy brushed a hand over her brow. “Not a Viking,” she uttered softly.
Erin placed a hand on her arm. “Are you all right?”
Ivy lifted her head. The gorgeous man leaned against the bar as Mac made his way to him. “I said he’s not a Viking.”
Erin smirked. “You could have fooled me.”
The man straightened as Mac pointed a finger directly in Ivy’s direction.
Ivy was unable to move, the words tumbled free as if spoken by someone else. “He’s an ancient Celt.”
The stranger immediately glanced her way, shock registering across his face as if he had heard her spoken words.
“Good Lord, you’re as white as a sheet, Ivy Kathleen.”
She barely heard Erin’s words. The Celt moved toward her, a frown marring his handsome features. A tremor slithered down her spine as she lifted her head up to meet his gaze.
“Ivy O’Callaghan?” The soft burr of his voice brushed over her face, and she couldn’t determine if it was Irish or Scottish.
Her mouth stayed dry, making her unable to acknowledge the man’s question. Nodding slowly, she took a step back. Then the Celt smiled, and Ivy thought she would melt right there on the floor. How could anyone look that gorgeous?
Erin nudged her. “Forgive my friend, Ivy Kathleen, she seems to have lost her voice.”
Recovering her wits, Ivy replied, “Sorry. I’m done telling stories about my life in the States.”
The Celt arched a brow. “Not interested in your stories. Sean Casey sent me to inspect your repairs.”
“You know Sean?” interrupted Erin.
Smiling, the man nodded. “Most of his life. I’m Conn MacRoich.”

How long have you been narrating?
I started narrating audiobooks a year ago in 2016. I own an online book rental company and I did a small voice over bit for a marketing piece. A lot of friends said I really ought to look into doing voice over work. So I started out reading recipe books until I understood what works and what doesn’t work, how best to improve the sound, how much I could speak before my voice ran out, and how best to use the software. Once I felt comfortable navigating all these factors that go into audiobook recordings, I started narrating children’s stories.
What is your favorite genre to narrate and why?
I can’t say I have one favorite genre over another. I quite enjoy reading children’s books because you can vocally explore a wide range of voices (many silly voices which are fun). I enjoy adult fiction that fall under first person romance or thriller, because I can delve into the character’s emotions and it taps into my theatrical side.
Do you like input from your authors as far as voice styles or photos of the muses for characters? And is that helpful to you as a narrator?
I find voice samples and photos are extremely helpful in knowing what the author saw when they wrote the book. It is especially helpful for long stories with many characters. This helps delineate the characters from one another if you know the actors in real life. The downside can be if you don’t recognize the actor or their character type, then it becomes a concern whether or not you are adequately representing the character as the author intended.
So, you got the audition request for Out of the Box Awakening. What made you accept it? Was there something about the story line or character that drew you in?
From the very first paragraph of Out of the Box Awakening, I was drawn to Olivia. There was a wonderful vulnerable quality to her. Jennifer Theriot did such an amazing job of capturing her inner voice, that I knew I wanted to be the voice for Olivia. I also read a lot of the reviews from people that purchased Jennifer’s books and there were some amazing reviews that I knew this would be a book I would not only enjoy narrating, but reading. For a long book (it was estimated at 15 hours), it was important it was a book I would enjoy reading, and I was not wrong it was an incredible story.
Did you have a favorite character in Out of the Box Awakening?
Aside from Olivia, Todd is hands down my favorite character. I love the breadth of his character from unapologetic bad boy to hopeless romantic. I enjoyed narrating his lines when he would both swear like a sailor whilst at the same time espousing the merits of love, friendship, and kindness.
Is communication with your authors important along the way?
Communication with the author along the way is an absolute necessity. Yes, I can narrate a book without any input, but it would be terrible to find at the end that you didn’t get the character as the author intended. What I really enjoyed about working with Jennifer was how easy it was to develop a bond with her, even though we live on opposite sides of the planet. From the start, I knew I would like Jennifer and I immediately felt an obligation to do her story justice. I also felt her supporting and cheering me on as we advanced through the chapters. When you have an author that is excited for the narrator and appreciates the work, it makes it so much more rewarding!
You’ve received some pretty high accolades from Jennifer Theriot. How does that make you feel about doing future projects with her? Would you consider doing any more books in her Out of the Box series?
Using one of Olivia’s favorite sayings- “without a doubt”. I would jump at the opportunity to work with Jennifer again. Once I started narrating the final chapters of Awakenings, I felt both thrilled and melancholy to be finishing her story. Not just because the story was ending, but also because it has been such a breath of fresh air working with an author that cares so much for her story, for her narrator, and for the overall experience. I could tell that this story was more than just an endeavor for her. It is a story that lies close to her heart.
Now, a few questions for Triera as a ‘person’….
Do you have a career outside of narrating?
Outside of narration, I actually wear a few hats. I own an online book rental company in Denmark. I started it when I first moved here and started my little family. Books and most consumer goods in Denmark are expensive. There is a large second hand market here for that very reason. I was always an avid reader; as a child I was the first one running out to the book mobile. I saw that both my children held this same joy for books, but our libraries only carried about 30 English books. Whilst they would learn Danish and primarily speak Danish, I wanted to read to them and I wanted them to learn English. So I started owlbooks.dk for other expats that found themselves in the same situation.
I also do post production work. My clients are primarily professionals (no Hollywood movies yet). Most of the productions are online projects from commercials, to youtube video logs, coaching and strategy projects. These are a lot of fun and I enjoy the diversity of the projects.
How many audio books are in your repertoire?
I have had the pleasure of narrating nine titles. My repertoire entails cook books, children and young adult books, and adult fiction. I’ve been a child, a witch, a vampire, a celestial being, and an amazing woman by the name of Olivia.
Tell us something about yourself and your hobbies.
Aside from playing the piano, I love sitting in front of the computer learning new things around the creative digital space. These are the two hobbies that I do on a regular basis, but I’ve delved into so many hobbies and as part of my quest to experience life to the fullest I hope to never stop taking on new hobbies. Many years ago I started taking flying lessons where I got to fly Cessna aircrafts. I was nearly complete with obtaining my private pilot’s license when I wound up moving and no longer lived close enough to my flying club. That was such a thrill and I do hope to take up lessons again.
What does the future hold for Triera?
If my history has taught me anything, it’s that there is no telling what my future holds. The beginning never follows a finite line to the end. I started off in this life as an orphan from the ravages of war and I was adopted into a wonderful family of six, worked and traveled throughout the world, and wound up in Denmark as a mother of two angels sent from heaven. I can only hope that my future holds wonderful experiences surrounded by people that I love and care for.

DANGEROUSLY HERS by A.M. Griffin
DANGEROUSLY HERS
Jess hates aliens. After the invasion that destroyed Earth, the extraterrestrial bastards sold her to a brothel as a sex slave. She may have escaped but the old memories and fears still linger in the dark corners of her mind. Supposedly Sonis is just the place for her—somewhere safe, where she can heal and start fresh. She’s almost hopeful…until she meets Rasha, her new boss.
Rasha, Captain of the Sonis Royal Guard, is a warrior through and through. He’s huge, sinfully sexy and could have any woman on Sonis—but the woman he wants is Jess. He’s very much an alien and Jess knows she should hate him or at least be wary, but whenever he’s around, she loses control. She tells herself it’s only sex—amazing, mind-blowing sex like nothing else she’s ever experienced—but there’s something about Rasha that shakes her soul. The feel of his skin against hers, the look in his eyes as he touches her—they make her want to believe it’s possible to find love and begin again.

The guards turned their way and pointed. There was no mistaking it this time. The guards were coming for them and didn't appear too happy about it either. Jess tensed, locked her jaw and balled her fists. JB moved to her side, partially blocking her view.
The group of three overly large males stopped in front of them. "JB and Jess?" The bass tones of the speaker's voice resonated in her chest.
JB hooked his thumbs in his pants. "Depends on who's asking."
The guards exchanged surprised glances and the speaker widened his stance. "Rasha, Captain of the Sonis Royal Guard." He folded his thick arms across his chest and stared down at JB.
The way he stood, his movements, his speech, all spoke of leadership. He was big, bigger than the others. His muscles bulged and glistened. All the hours he must have spent perfecting that body...
A moan escaped her lips.
Shit. Did I just moan out loud? Her heart skipped a beat as eyes of pure amber locked on hers.
"It is you."
A nerve ticked in her jaw. She squinted. I don't remember him from the brothel. "Asshole," she said under her breath. He was probably one of them just the same.
"Do you have something to say?" the giant asked.
Of course she had something to say. She cocked her head to the side. "Lay off the free weights, Gigantor." JB nudged her but she couldn't stop there. "Or stop the prison-themed workouts."
Why couldn't she stop? Insults spilled from her mouth at will, especially when she felt threatened, which was now.
Before the giant could respond, JB interjected. "Please excuse my ward. What can we do for you?"
Jess snorted at JB's use of the word "ward". As if he actually had some control over her actions. Hell, she couldn't even control them.
The giant continued to watch her as he said, "I was sent to retrieve you both from the transport bay."
"Oh." JB ran a hand through his hair. "Sorry about that. Eva didn't meet us there so we tried to make our own way."
The giant broke eye contact with her and studied JB. "I am sure Eva gave you clear instructions to wait."
As if we're in the habit of following directions.
Jess rolled her eyes. "Pft."
The giant glared at her again. "Female, if I want to hear you talk I will ask you a question."
She straightened her back. Well now, this might get interesting.
JB grabbed her arm, tightening his grip. "Jess, cool it before you get us jumped," he warned.
Yeah, she would cool it all right. It wasn't her fault Gigantor hadn't met them sooner.
The giant nodded in her direction. "I advise you to keep your female in her place," he said, addressing JB.
Really. "Keep me in place?" Jess side stepped around JB. "What makes you think he can?" She thumbed toward JB. "Or that I'm even his to keep in place?"
"I swear your mouth is going to get us killed one day." JB moved in front of her and pressed his back against her chest. "Jess, I can maybe survive a fight with one, but not three," he whispered over his shoulder.
She should have been afraid. If she were a rational woman she would have cowered behind JB.
But she wasn't.

Freedom and escape are her only priorities, but none of her martial arts training could have prepared her for enslavement to the warrior King Taio. Taio is disgusted with the idea of owning a slave—until now. From the moment he sees her, he knows Eva is his for the taking. Torn between lust and duty, Taio discovers nothing will stop him from protecting his little warrior.
Kane Epps divides his life into two distinct parts—before the alien invasion and after. Before the invasion, he had a pregnant wife and a high-powered job. After the invasion, he’s left with only himself and his hatred for all things alien. He channels his bitterness by captaining a vessel of renegade humans—space pirates who don’t think twice about taking what they need.
Princess Sa’Mya is on the run. She and a few trusted advisers fled her home planet only to be captured by the sexy, dangerous Captain Epps. He claims to hate aliens but can’t seem to resist touching her or kissing her…everywhere. The Donnigans series, book 2
by Marie Harte

"The sultry sex and seduction scenes are just the icing on this incredibly rich and satisfying cake. Readers will sit down, read this book from cover to cover in one sitting, and then pick it up to read it all over again." ―RT Book Reviews, 5 Gold Stars
A FLING MIGHT BE JUST THE THING...
Gavin Donnigan left the Marine Corps a shell of a man, hounded by guilt for deaths he couldn't prevent. But teaching a self-defense class at the local gym brings some stability to his life―along with a gorgeous woman who won't give him the time of day.
Zoe York lost her twin sister to a freak car accident a few months ago. She's been struggling to bury her grief, but it isn't until she signs up for a self-defense class with its distractingly hot instructor that she begins to come out of her shell again. With the memory of her sister telling her to live a little, Zoe decides a fling with buns-of-steel Gavin Donnigan might be just the thing.
Soon they're sparring both in and out of the gym. And for the first time in a long time, each is looking forward to tomorrow.

Gavin chuckled, then turned to Zoe, only to see her watching him, her gaze intense. “What?” She looked like she either wanted to run him over, punch him, or—dare he hope—kiss him.
“I’m just waiting for one of your incredibly fascinating comments about pink pants, small biceps, or fine form.” She didn’t sound too winded, yet she’d been on the machine for a good ten minutes at least. She was in phenomenal shape—those yoga pants didn’t lie.
He frowned. “Hey now, your biceps are just fine. Nothing small about them.” He didn’t recall ever criticizing her shape.
“I meant yours,” she said drily.
“You really are mean.
She scowled. “I am not.”
“You are. That’s why I like you.”
“That’s a terrible thing to say.” Her lips curled, and his heart raced.
“Yet true.” Before a nearby musclehead could jump on the machine that opened up next to her, Gavin stepped in front of him, blocking the way. “Sorry, man. I’m training her.” He turned around, searching for a free machine. “There you go. That one just opened up.” He pointed out a machine in front of them before facing Zoe again.
The guy gave him an odd look and shrugged. “Well, I’m not gonna kiss you, but I get it. Poor bastard.” He chuckled and walked away, no harm no foul.
Before Gavin could ask what the guy was talking about, Zoe cut in, “Training me? Liar.” She slowed her machine to a walk.
Gavin put on a hurt look. “But I am training you. To smile. Slowly but surely, I’m working on that last nerve. The same one I’m constantly rubbing the wrong way on everyone else, according to my siblings. They, like you, have no appreciation for my sense of humor.” He bent over to touch his toes, luring her with his flexibility. When he straightened, he noticed the strange look she gave him.
Zoe glanced at him a moment more before grinning. Man, she had one sexy mouth. “Oh, I don’t know. I appreciate humor as much as the next gal.”
“Yeah?” He stared in awe. Her bright eyes were so…blue.
“How about this?” She added a husky laugh that shot sparks through his chest and radiated all over his body.
“You have a great laugh. You should do it more often.”
“Oh, I will.” She chuckled some more. “Thanks, Gavin. You really made my night.” Then she shocked the hell out of him when after getting off her machine, she leaned close to kiss him on the cheek.
“Th-thanks.” God willing, he could control himself with the woman. “Not that I don’t deserve that, but what made you kiss me? Uncontrollable lust? Finally owning up to your feelings? Realizing you’re in love with my charming self?”
She looked on the verge of exploding with mirth. “You sure you want to know?”
“Well, yeah, before we set our wedding date, at least.” He grinned at her. But she laughed again, and he had a feeling it was at—not with—him. He frowned. “Okay, what?”
She cleared her throat, her humor still plain to see. “Well, Smoky, there’s a sign on your back that says Kiss me if you pity men with small brains.”
He blinked. “What?”
“I feel for you. It’s not your fault size really does matter.” She snickered again before leaving him busy staring over his shoulder at the mirrored wall behind him.

July. Fire House A-89, in the northeast corner of Staten Island. Early Saturday morning, as the sun rose, fire fighter Dale McGuire stripped off turnout gear and hung it to air out on a hook on the outside of his locker. Coming in from a call for a small brush fire at the side of the highway right before the Verrazano Bridge entrance, Dale looked forward to coffee, something to eat, and bed for a nap, in that order.
Grabbing a towel, he walked to the shower, whistling.
“McGuire is happy this morning,” his colleague, Paul shouted, coming on his shift
“Yeah, because he gets to go home,” another firefighter called out.
Chuckling, Dale nodded. Life was so peaceful, if it weren’t for the fires he fought, the lives occasionally rescued, he’d have to consider getting a hobby just to prevent boredom from setting in. Mind a blank as he lathered up, he thought of getting home to his dog, Tilly. She’d be on the back of the couch, waiting for him.
“Jesus buddy, I’m embarrassed to strip in front of you,” Paul said, pointing to Dale returning from the shower. “Look at this guy’s abs.”
Quickly pulling his towel up higher, Dale laughed. “You’re not my type,” he said over the hilarity. “I won’t watch you if it’ll help.”
Locker room banter took some of the pain the exhaustion the night shift firefighters experienced away. “See you Monday,” Dale said when he was dressed, grabbing his duffle bag.
He lived in the house his late parents’ left him on Todt Hill, within walking distance to the firehouse. Volunteering there during high school, he bypassed college, much to his parents’ chagrin, and took a full time position as a firefighter rather than go away to his father’s alma mater in Philadelphia.
“It’s an honorable position, Douglas,” his mother had said in Dale’s defense. “Don’t make yourself sick with disappointment.”
“I wanted our son to follow in my footsteps. A McGuire at Penn is a tradition.”
Twenty years later, they were both dead, a fatal car wreck snuffing out the lives of Dale’s favorite people. Walking up the hill, he glanced up at the imposing structure in the bright morning sun. It was a grand house, but too big for a single man approaching middle-age.
Parents gone almost three years, he’d taken over the house as his own and couldn’t imagine anyone else living there with him. The scariest part of that; he knew he was becoming so set in his ways that if he didn’t fall in love soon, it might be too late. Feeling a sense of impending adventure in there air, there was definitely excitement looming. Hold it together, buddy, he told himself. You probably just need sleep.

To appreciate the light, you must first live in darkness…
Hades has been alone for so long that seeing Grimm’s newest acquisition for him has him making several mistakes with Zerina.
The beautiful daughter of Fate should have never been let inside his domain. He should have thrown her out the first time she lifted her lovely gaze to his. He didn’t.
That was my first mistake.
The second was when I touched her.
As the king of the Underworld, I have that right, don’t I?
Not according to her.
That was my third mistake. I should have never let her speak.
The mistakes just keep coming, one after the other, until I make the biggest mistake of all.
I fall in love.

Refusing to beg him to let her leave, she then realized she just had when she had thought of it. She ran her fingers through her hair, trying to block her thoughts from him.
She then felt him behind her before he touched her, taking her wrists and pulling her hands away from her hair.
“There is no way to block your thoughts from me.”
Being so close to him, and his touch on her wrists, had her biting back a moan.
Jerking away, she went to sit on her bed, then decided that was the last place she wanted to be with Hades so close. She went back to the table, placing it between them. “If you’re not going to let me go, then you can go.”
She didn’t have time to react before he transported himself to her side, jerking her to him.
The heat of his body had her nipples pebbling under her sweater as her breasts were crushed against his chest. She refused to look away from his furious expression.
“I can bring you to your knees with a single thought. Don’t tempt me to prove it to you by allowing yourself to continue your charade that I don’t affect you. I can make you do anything I want. Things your virgin body hasn’t even dreamed are possible.”
“You can force me to do many things.” She made herself stand still, ignoring the growing wetness between her thighs. “But even a god can be hurt,” she cooed, licking her bottom lip suggestively as she jerked her knee upward, forcing Hades to release her as he doubled over in pain.
She didn’t run, knowing her door was locked. Bravely, she simply waited for Hades to straighten, staring at him defiantly as he took a limping step toward her.
“You just made a mistake you’re going to regret.” With a wave of his hand, Zerina found herself being transported. She closed her eyes to combat the feeling of vertigo as his power surrounded her. When she felt ground under her once again, she opened her eyes.
Even Mother heard the screams that came from the bowels of the earth, causing the heavens to weep along with her.

THE WATCHERS REVENGE by Chris Shuler
THE WATCHERS REVENGE
After the events at South End Church, Topher and Shannon discover a message that they are not the only Archangels in the world...they must follow the clues and try to bring them into the fight against Azazel and Ashley thus the Prophecy continues! One will live….one will die...and only one will survive!

I hit another table then heard a table nearby me move. Then another. Then another. Whatever it was it was closing in on me. Tables were now flying around the room some were toppling over. I heard Jordan scream behind me and David yell, “Topher! Get out of here!”
When whatever it was got within a few tables of me I started to hear a lower guttural growl. Turning in the direction of it I instinctively raised my arms to my face thinking it was some sort of dog coming at me. As my arms crossed across my face I caught a glance of huge shadow of something hairy leaping at me. Its weight tossed me down across a table and slide me to the edge and topple over the other side. I felt a hot breath bearing down on me mixed with a harsh growl. The weight of whatever it was crushing the air out of me. As my arms were locked in front of me I saw a glow come off my wrist. Kithara. She was glowing now. It lit enough I saw the grotesque animals face staring down at me. It was not like anything I've ever seen. This was a dog from hell. It was evil and twisted and was doing anything it could to kill me. Fangs snapped at my face above my locked arms its spit was splattering on my face. When Kithara touched its fur she singed its skin and yelping in pain but it didn't lose its focus. Redoubling its effort it tried to force itself down to my exposed face. David and Jordan screamed across the room trying to figure out what was going on. Ashley was close by laughing at my impending death.
Excerpt #2
David held up a finger and said, “I will be right back.”
After a few silent moments, he returned placed a long case on the table in front of us. He flipped the two latches and opened the top and inside was a sword. Its hilt was pewter and blade a dull gray with beautiful designs from the tip to the handle. Once I laid eyes on it the sword sang to me. It echoed through my soul.
“Oh my God,” Shannon whispered. “Is that what I think it is?”
“Only one way to be sure,” David said. “Topher, pick it up.”
“I….do not know,” I whispered without taking my eyes off it. “I'm afraid.”
Shannon took my hand from across the table. “Topher, don't be afraid. I'm right here.”
I nodded to her, I loved her, she had been my guide throughout this and has never steered me wrong so I trust her.
Looking back down to the sword, I reached out my shaking hand and touched the hilt. It felt warm to me instead of the touch of cold metal. Once I took the hilt into my hand the song in my soul became loud and beautiful. It was like something turned on inside me that had laid dormant forever and was now fully awake. A hum rose and wind circulated around us. Jordan whispered, “Jesus, Mary, and Joseph. It's true...he is really Michael and that's Kithara!”

DEVILS MARKER by Victoria Danann
DEVILS MARKER
Sons of Sanctuary MC, Austin, Texas Book 4
by Victoria Danann
Genre: MC Contemporary Romance (hot heat level)
The Waco, Texas Marauders MC is on the verge of war.
New arrivals, Stars and Bars MC, are engaged in activities too nefarious for even the notorious Marauders.
New SSMC member, Win Garrett, is planted inside to get information and fill a marker owed by the club.
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author, Victoria Danann, adds a bit of grit and reality to the runaway hit series Sons of Sanctuary. Devils Marker is a tale of romance and suspense loosely based on actual events.
CAN BE READ AS A STAND ALONE.
A biker who walked away from a SoCal outlaw club came to the SSMC seeking a quiet life that might become a long life. Little did he know he was jumping out of the frying pan into the fire when the club president asked him to fill a marker owed to a Texas Ranger.
Win Garrett chose the fast track option to respect and a full patch with the club, but things changed when the daughter of the Marauders' prez caught his eye. Now all he wants is to get out alive with the little blonde bombshell who has his heart clenched in a vice grip with passion pink fingernails.
"Suspense, loyalty, brotherhood, compassion, humor and romance...Sons of Sanctuary has something for everyone."

“I could be marked. Clubs have a way of figurin’ things out.”
“That’s why it’s gotta be up to you. Full patch comes with full backing. Of course.” Win looked out the window, seemingly working through all the pros and cons. “You left your old club in good standing. Right?”
“Yeah.”
“So they’d speak for you if asked.”
“I suppose. The leadership had become kind of… unpredictable.”
“That happens. If you were asked, just explain it like that.”
“You sound like you think I’m sayin’ yes.”
“Got a feelin’ you’re leanin’ that way. Am I wrong?”
Win shook his head. “No. You’re not wrong. Kinda wish you were. I was just gettin’ the accounts set up and…”
“When you get back you’ll have that plus a lot more. You do this for us, you got our trust with our backs and our money.” Brant took a sip of coffee and then said, “But not our women.”
Realizing that his anxiety and indecision was creating tension in the room, Win consciously decided to lighten the mood. He grinned. “Your wife is…”
Brant said, “Stop right there, prospect. You got no call to say a word about the mother of my sons. No matter how beautiful and smart and polished and rich she is.” Brant grinned, but in a way that was more menacing than teasing. “You need some time to think about it?”
Win shook his head. “Thinkin’ about it’s not gonna change a thing. So no point. I guess I’m in. But for the record, I’d like to have it known that I’m not into reckless or suicidal. Got your word that my loyalty won’t be questioned? I mean if I survive?”
“I got a strong feelin’ you’re gonna be back as a full patch member. If I didn’t believe that, I wouldn’t have even brought this up. But I’ve been doin’ this long enough to say that when my gut speaks, I listen up.”
Win gave a nod that was both slight and unconvincing, more an acknowledgement than an agreement. “And I have your word that my loyalty won’t be questioned again. Ever.”
Brant stilled and looked the younger man squarely in the face so that he could absorb the seriousness and sincerity of the answer. “Yes. You do. I’m gonna call the Ranger right now, with you sittin’ there. So stay put.” Brant punctuated that order by pointing to the chair underneath Win’s firmly muscled behind.
“Call me back,” Brant said into the phone. “While we’re waitin’, why don’t you tell me if there’s somethin’ I need to look after regardin’ the accounts you’ve been messin’ with.”
Win took exception to the term ‘messin’ with’, but chose not to challenge the club president about his word choice. He opened his mouth to reply, but Brant’s phone rang. Brant looked at the face of the phone and accepted the call.
“He’ll do it. But if anythin’ goes wrong, you’re gonna answer to me personally.” Win could hear the muted sound of a vocal response, but couldn’t make out the words. “Stipulation. He’ll have full immunity. No. Matter. What. And he will not testify to anything later. He’ll give you a one on one confidential debriefing. In secret. Just the two of you. This is a deal breaker. Take it or leave it.” Brant paused to let the other man respond. “Just to reiterate. We’re talkin’ about a month maximum. And, if anything, I mean anything, goes south before that, I don’t care if it’s an hour after arrival, he’s outta there.”
As Win sat and listened to the one sided conversation his respect for Brant blossomed. The prez negotiated like a lawyer and seemed to really give a damn about Win’s future.
Brant hung up and looked at Win. “Gotta protect our golden goose.” Brant opened a drawer and pulled out a new burner phone.

Two brothers unknown to each other on a crash course with fate and two broken hearts.
Brigid was a graduate student at the University of Texas. It wasn't hard getting her thesis approved, but finding a Hill Country motorcycle club willing to give her access to their lifestyle was starting to look impossible. Then she got a lead. A friend of a friend had a cousin with family ties to The Sons of Sanctuary. Perfect. Or so she thought.
Brash was standing in line at the H.E.B. Market when his world tipped on its axis. While waiting his turn to check out, his gaze had wandered to the magazine display and settled on the new issue of "NOW". The image on the cover, although GQ'd up in an insanely urbane way, was... him.
After reading the article, he threw some stuff in a duffle and caught a plane to New York, on a mission to find a mysterious asshole walking around with his face.
Brandon St. Germaine was at the top of the billionaire playboy heap when he learned about a side of the family that had been kept secret. He left New York, moved to Austin, and took most of the corporate empire with him.
His dad, president of the club his grandfather founded, spent three decades converting the club's income sources to legitimate business dealings. One of the biggest earners was the security service. When a ridiculously wealthy, but justifiably frightened father hires the SSMC to protect his daughter from the psycho she's divorcing, Brand gets the job.
EXCERPT...
Cannon Johns was a man who'd once had the world in his hands and lost everything. When he rode his Harley underneath the motel office overhang just after midnight, he was soaking wet and looking for the only comfort life still had to offer. The escape of sleep.
After being told there was no food available at that time of night, he pulled his ride into the room he'd just rented and went looking for dinner in the vending machines. When he was eight feet away, he saw movement by the Mountain Dew column. In addition to being bone weary, world weary, and out of options, he was out of sorts with no patience for shenanigans.
"Come on out of there and state your business." He had to raise his voice to a near-shout to be heard over the pounding rain.
After a slight hesitation, a small figure emerged in a yellow plastic poncho, the kind you can get at the grocery store for a couple of bucks. As soon as she reached up to pull the hood back from her head he knew it was a woman by the delicate size of her hands and the way she moved.
The light was dim, but he saw her clearly as if it was noon on a bright sunny day. His late wife had once told him that he had to change out the light fixture in the kitchen because "nobody looks good in fluorescent light". The girl standing in front of him was proof it just ain't so.
Her eyes were violet blue. And wide. He wasn't sure if that was because of fear or misery. Like him, she soaking wet. Unlike him, she was shivering. Whether that was from fear or cold he couldn't guess.
"What the hell you doing out here, girl?" He looked around. "Something got you spooked?"
She licked her bottom lip. "No, ah, I'm just a little down on luck is all. I don't want any trouble."
"Don't want no trouble, huh?"
It wasn't a question. He said it as if it was a provable fact. She shook her head to both punctuate his assessment and agree with it.
"Yeah. Me, neither. At least not tonight."

STORM WATCH by Carole Ann Moleti
STORM WATCH
Unfinished Business series, book 3
by Carole Ann Moleti
Genre: Light Paranormal Romance
Mike and Liz thought they'd gotten control of the specters haunting the Barrett Inn. But things get very complicated when they're the ghosts from your past life. The Category Five Hurricane bearing down on Cape Cod appears to be headed directly for them--or has it been spawned from inside them? Knowing it’s their last chance to end the hauntings, Mike and Liz must decide whether to run or to defy evacuation orders. Will they survive the storm?

The engine whined and strained. The boat spun in the eddy, and Liz’s knuckles went white trying to prevent the steering wheel from spinning. Sandra looked like she was going to puke. Harley looked like he wanted to jump overboard.
“Liz, move over to the next seat but keep your hands on the wheel until I get there. Sandra, you and Harley get underneath the cabin into the berths, one on each side, and keep your heads down. We’ve got to stay balanced. This is going to be a rough ride.”
Mike got his ass in the seat, turned catty corner into the waves, and gunned the engine. The Whaler, made for stability in the surf, cut through it but crashed and rocked wildly between the swells. An air horn rolled back and forth across the deck, adding the effect of a ticking clock to an already nauseating ride.
The cuddy cabin kept the worst of the spray off them, but Mike had to unzip his roof panel and stand up to see over the salt encrusted windshield. A wave lifted the entire boat out of the water.
“Hang on!” He crouched and braced for impact. I hope everyone is where they’re supposed to be or we’ll flip. His lungs were about to burst.
The door thudded from side to side in knee-deep water. The motor bobbled and threatened to stall as the propeller came out of the water. He’d been out in weather this bad, but his two-way radio had been on and someone knew where he was.
EXCERPT #2
He passed the living room where the flashback of an emaciated Mary, in a hospital bed, being tended to by a hospice nurse, wiped all the good feelings away. He pushed past it, into the kitchen.
Mary stood at the stove, stirring and filling bowls with noodles and dumplings and gravy. He smelled lily of the valley, her favorite perfume. Wine-tinged bile rose into his throat. The light dimmed, and all the other voices in the room went silent as she hummed some catchy 80’s tune. The glass fell from his hand and shattered, but he didn’t hear the glass breaking or feel the blood-red wine soaking his feet.
“Dad! You okay?” Allison ran toward him.
The room brightened. “Yeah, my hands were still wet.” He eased himself down to the floor to pick up the glass shards.
“Careful, don’t cut yourself.” Mary knelt beside him. Her hair smelled like lily of the valley as it brushed his cheek.
Mike reached for her, and tumbled into the void when she vanished. He landed on the heel of his hand, miraculously avoiding the splintered glass, coughed, and shook it off. “Get me a paper towel. Damn. Waste of good wine.”
Jay stared. Dana brought a roll of paper towels.
Allison mopped up the spill. Concern etched her face. “Dad, you’re exhausted!”
His cheeks burned, and his hear raced. Mike tried to act nonchalant and hauled himself up. “Yeah, I’m tired. And hungry. Let’s eat.”
