Don’t you wish you paid the same % of income tax the rich do?
We learned this week through a leak from the IRS that the richest Americans pay almost nothing in income tax. KSL Newsradio’s Amanda Dickson asked her guests on A Woman’s View how that made them feel? She also brings up the difficult topic of how they talk to their family and friends about racism.

What we can all do to help the drought?

Do you have enough awe in your life?

Appreciating Teachers – THE LISA SHOW
Teachers have been the unsung heroes of the pandemic as they’ve juggled constant changes to their classroom environment. They’ve been forced to double the lesson plans in order to accommodate online learning, socially distanced in-person learning, and even blended learning. They’ve had to teach their own kids who are learning at home while also caring for the needs of all their other students. Teachers have been nothing short of superheroes. So, because it’s teacher appreciation month, we wanted to discuss ways we can express our heartfelt gratitude for everything they’ve done for our kids over the past year. And here with us today is motivational speaker and writer Ganel-Lyn Condie to help us out.

Way to show love to our teachers
“A teacher affects eternity; [they] can never tell where [their] influence stops.“ – Henry B. Adams
Our teachers deserve our love and respect!
Teachers have prepared double the lesson plans, pivoted to ZOOM teaching, and continued to show up at work while juggling family needs as well.”
After working in the schools this year and our teachers and school staff have struggled with their own mental health needs and pandemic challenges. They have shown up under extreme situations.

LEARN LOVED LOST in the PANDEMIC
This last year was a globally shared experience, but it was far from a matching experience. Depending on your demographic, where you lived, and circumstances, but we can all benefit from a new, new year review.

Triggers are Teachers
Triggers are the relationships and experiences that just set us off. Triggers could be: jealousy, comparisons, boundary violations, personalities, and trauma. It is frustrating when we find ourselves reacting over and over again to triggers instead of acting.

Daily Herald Everyday Faith: I hope you know I have been thinking about you
I hope you all know I have been thinking of you. (Even though my editor at the Daily Herald must have thought otherwise.)
So I hope you know that I have been thinking of you while I was … working on two books, trying to be a good mom to a senior son (soon to graduate) and a ‘tween daughter, keeping up with church responsibilities, and support a busy husband.
Truth is my newspaper contributions have been lacking but the readers have literally been on my mind. I have talked with you, in my head, as I wrote and worked 13-hour days to meet book deadlines. I talked with you as I ran errands to Costco and Walmart. I pondered how you were doing during this busy spring time with kids’ athletic events, school plays, projects in the yard and life.
