{Release Day Blitz} LOVE SONG by Elle Greco

Jett Benson is having a bad week.
To start, she was kicked out of her soon to be ex-stepfather’s Bel Air mansion. Then, UCLA gave her the boot because of an unpaid tuition bill. Finally, her crappy car just broke down in Venice Beach, and she doesn’t have the money to fix it.
And that’s just Monday.
Jett needs a job. And fast. But with her car out of commission and a resume that screams unemployable, she has no choice but to crash on her ex-stepbrother Rafe’s couch until she gets back on her feet.
Once mortal enemies, a bond grew between Jett and Rafe when their bands toured together. It’s a bond that Jett’s trying to avoid before it morphs into something more. And that something more could break her heart because Rafe’s left a path of shattered ones in his wake.
Rafe Davis was adopted into rock and roll royalty. When his own father, guitar player for legendary rock band Anthem, fell victim to the cut-throat music industry, Rafe was enveloped by the Davis clan. Now, like his dad, Rafe is a guitar player, but for Rogue Nation, a band whose debut album is following Anthem’s meteoric trajectory. But Rafe is determined not to repeat history, even if that means guarding his heart against the one person who believes in him.
So Jett needs to find a J-O-B and get off Rafe’s couch before she climbs into his bed. Because for both of them, falling in love is not an option.
Love Song is the second book in the LA Rock Star Romance series. Set in the glam and gritty Los Angeles rock scene, the series is filled with swoon-worthy men and badass women, all chasing their dreams in Hollywood’s cut-throat music industry.
Get ready to fall in love with another LA Rock Star.

Taylor Fenner's Bookish World's 5-YEAR Blog Anniversary!

Hey Bookdragons! It's my 5-year blog anniversary!
Five years ago I posted my first book review and changed my blog name to Taylor Fenner's Bookish World. The blog has had a few facelifts over the years and I've tried different memes and even dabbled in a couple of my own.
Right now I'm on a hiatus but I had to pop in and commemorate the day. Here are a few fun facts...
10 Fun Facts About Taylor Fenner's Bookish World...
1. First Review:

2. First ARC (Advance Reader Copy)

3. First Physical ARC

4. Most Popular Post to Date:My first time as an author doing the Young Adult Scavenger Hunt in 2017
5. Favorite Genre in 2015:Fantasy
6. Favorite Genre in 2020:Horror/Thriller

8. Favorite Authors: Wendy Higgins, Sarah J. Maas, Leigh Bardugo, Jay Kristoff, Lisa Jackson, Dawn Kurtagich, Helena Hunting, Penelope Ward, Tyffany Hackett
9. First Audiobook Listen:

10. Current Read/Listen

In the past two months I've decided to take a hiatus and learn to enjoy reading again and I feel so much better. I'm enjoying reading what I want to read, when I want to read it without having to adhere to review schedules, monthly TBRs or being influenced to read what someone else thinks I should be reading. I no longer feel the need to finish a 500 page book in 2 days either.
I also, when I'm done with my hiatus, want to move into blogging about other things... tv shows I love, movie rankings, seasonal things I want to try, etc. So be on the lookout for things to come from Taylor Fenner's Bookish World!

{Release Day Blitz} THE RIVALS by Vi Keeland

Title: The RivalsAuthor: Vi KeelandGenre: Standalone Contemporary Romance Release Date: July 13, 2020
Blurb
The feud between Weston Lockwood and me started at the altar.Only neither of us attended the wedding, and the nuptials happened decades before either of us was born. Our grandfathers had been best friends and business partners, at least up until my grandfather’s wedding day—when his bride-to-be blurted out she couldn’t marry him because she was also in love with Weston‘s grandfather. The two men spent years fighting over Grace Copeland, who also happened to be their third business partner. But in the end, neither man could steal half of her heart away from the other.Eventually, they all went their separate ways. Our grandfathers married other women, and the two men became one of the biggest business rivals in history. Our fathers continued the family tradition of feuding. And then Weston and I did, too.For the most part, we kept as much distance as possible.Until the day the woman who started the feud died—and unexpectedly left one of the most valuable hotels in the world to our grandfathers to share. Now I’m stuck in a hotel with the man I was born to hate, trying to unravel the mess our families inherited. As usual, it didn’t take long for us to be at each other’s throats. Weston Lockwood was everything I hated: tall, smart, cocky, and too gorgeous for his own good. We were fire and ice. But that shouldn’t be an issue. Our families were used to being at war. There was just one minor problem, though. Every time Weston and I fought, we somehow wound up in bed.

“What the hell?” I pressed the button on the elevator panel a second time. It illuminated, yet the car continued to sit there. So I jabbed my finger at it a third time. Finally, the doors started to glide closed. Just as they were about to shut completely, a shoe blocked them from closing. A wingtip shoe. Weston’s smiling face was there to greet me when the doors bounced open. My blood was near boiling. “So help me, Lockwood, if you try to get in this car, I can’t be responsible for what happens to you. I’m not in the mood anymore.” He entered the elevator anyway. “Come on, Fifi. What’s wrong? I’m just playing around. You’re taking things way too seriously.” I counted to ten in my head, but it didn’t help. Fuck it. He wanted to get a rise out of me? He was going to get one. The doors slid shut again, and I turned and backed him into a corner. Seeing my face, he at least had the decency to look a little nervous. “You wanna know what’s wrong? I’ll tell you what’s wrong! My father thinks I’m inept because I don’t have an appendage dangling between my legs. The man I spent the last eighteen months with was cheating on me with one of my cousins. Again. I hate New York City. I despise the Lockwood family. And you think you can get away with anything you want just because you have a big dick.” I jabbed my finger into his chest and punctuated each staccato word with another stab. “I’m Tired. Of. Men. My father. Liam. You. Every single fucking one of you. So leave me the hell alone!” Frazzled, I turned back around and waited for the door to open, only to realize we hadn’t started to move yet. Great.Just fucking great. I jabbed the button a few more times, closed my eyes, and took deep, cleansing breaths as we started to move. Halfway through breath three, I felt the heat of Weston’s body behind me. He had to have moved closer. I continued to try to ignore him. But the fucker still smelled good. How the hell could that be? Whose cologne lasted for—what had it been now?—twelve hours? After the gauntlet run he’d sent me on across town this morning, I probably smelled like BO. It pissed me off that the asshole smelled...fucking delicious. He moved closer, and I felt his breath tickle my neck. “So,” he whispered in a gravelly voice. “You think my dick’s big.” I turned and scowled at him. While this morning he’d been clean-shaven, he now had a five o’clock shadow all along his chiseled jaw. It gave him a sinister look. The suit that hugged his broad shoulders probably cost more than Liam’s entire sweater wardrobe. Weston Lockwood was everything I hated in a man—wealthy, good looking, cocky, arrogant, and fearless. Liam would hate him. My father already hated him. And at the moment, those were actually Weston’s strong points. While I struggled with my body reacting to his scent and how much I liked the stubble on his face, Weston slowly reached out and put a hand on my hip. At first, I assumed he thought he needed to steady me, as he had when I’d wobbled in the bar. Had I wobbled again? I didn’t think I had. But I must’ve. Though when his hand glided from my hip around to my ass, there was no misunderstanding his intention. He was not trying to help me stay on my feet. In my head, my immediate reaction was to scream at him, but somehow my throat felt too clogged to speak. I made the mistake of looking up from his jaw into his blue eyes. Heat flickered, turning them almost gray, and his eyes dropped to my lips. No. Just no. This was not happening. Not again. My heart thundered in my chest, and the blood in my ears roared so loudly I almost didn’t hear the ding of the elevator announcing that we’d arrived at my floor. Thankfully it snapped me out of whatever moment of insanity I’d slipped into. “I…I need to go.” It took all of my focus to put one foot in front of the other, but I managed to walk down the hall and make it to my room. Though… I wasn’t alone.

On Hiatus

Hey Bookdragons! It's July! Today is moving day for me so I'll keep this short and sweet...
Five years ago this month I started using this blog/platform for book blogging. It's been a great run and I've discovered a lot of new authors to love and grew to love genres out of my comfort zone.
But like all good things, Taylor Fenner's Bookish World blog has reached an end... for now. What started out as sharing something I loved (reading) with the world and recommending books to people has drained away my love for reading and replaced it with ARC reading schedules, deadlines, and requirements.
Reading doesn't feel fun anymore and I want that escape back. So I'm taking a hiatus. I'm not sure at this point for how long. I have a couple review obligations I may pop back in for over the next few months but I definitely plan on taking the summer off. I'd like to say I'll be back to doing weekly memes and reviews come fall, but I'll see where I'm at and how I'm feeling about social media.
This isn't goodbye forever, just for now.
I'll be seeing you.

Top Ten Tuesday: Mash-Up, Ten TTT Posts I Never Got to DoThis week’s TTT is the 10th birthday (anniversary?) of the beginning of Top Ten Tuesday. 1. Most Unfortunate Character Names (Theme 21 from The Broke and the Bookish)A: Dank from Abbi Glines's Existence Trilogy
2. Books You Want to See Made into Movies (Theme 43 from TB&TB)A: Home Before Dark by Riley Sager

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? - 22 June 2020

#IMWAYR is a weekly meme started on J Kaye’s blog and then was hosted by Sheila from Book Journey. Sheila then passed it on to Kathryn at The Book Date.

What I Read Last Week: Warmaidens by Kelly Coon [image error] I was granted an eARC of this last Thursday and planned to binge it over the weekend. But I couldn't wait and started it right away instead. I really enjoyed Gravemaidens (book 1) but Warmaidens was even better! (Full review to come closer to the October release date)Currently Reading:Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco [image error] I really wanted to reread this series so I'm listening to the audiobook of SJTR. Funny story... I actually read Hunting Prince Dracula before Stalking Jack the Ripper the first time around - both in physical format - so I'm enjoying the audio narration right now. Next Read:The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black [image error] I've been holding off reading this one for a while and I think now I'm finally ready to tackle it.
*** What have you been reading lately?
