N is for New Zealand!

New Zealand is great! For today's #SpankA2Z June Challenge I've found a list of things that prove New Zealand is a really awesome country.

PAVLOVA! There's long been contention over this delicious dessert with the Aussies trying to claim it as their own, but the Oxford Dictionary has spoken - Pavlova comes from New Zealand. Sorry Aussie!
RUSSELL CROWE! Everyone's heard of Russell Crowe, right? Another Kiwi that our neighbours across the ditch keep trying to claim as their own (he calls himself an Aussie too) but he was born in Wellington, the southern-most capital city in the world.
KEITH URBAN! Who hasn't heard of Keith Urban? He's only one of the greatest singers of this century and married to famous actress Nicole Kidman. Keith was born in Whangarei, at the top of New Zealand.
PHAR LAP! Another Kiwi the Aussies keep trying to claim - this famous racehorse might have a commemorative statue in Aussie, but he was born here in Timaru, NZ.
BUNGY JUMPING! Only a Kiwi would be crazy enough to invent this adrenaline-pumping activity! Organised commercial bungy-jumping was started by Kiwi AJ Hackett here in Auckland, NZ, in 1986.
LAKE TAUPO! The biggest fresh-water lake in Australasia and the size of Singapore, this crater lake was formed from the biggest volcanic explosion ever in the last 5000 years.
ELECTRIC FENCES! Electric fences were in use in the USA in the early 1930s but it was NZ inventor Bill Gallagher who made one out of a car ignition coil and magneto set in 1936.
SIR EDMUND HILLARY! The man to grace out $5 note is the same man who first conquered Mt. Everest. Born and bred in New Zealand.
UNIVERSAL SUFFRAGE! New Zealand paved the way for gender equality when in 1893 they became the first major nation to give women the vote. It later went on to become the first country to have it's three top positions of power held simultaneously by women: Prime Minister Helen Clark, Governer General Dame Silvia Cartwright and Chief Justice Sian Elias.
KIWIS! To the rest of the world, a Kiwi is a little fluffy green fruit. To us, that's a kiwifruit. A Kiwi is our native flightless bird.
MOA! One of the largest birds in history, it stood 3.6m tall and weighed 300kg. Unfortunately the Maori's hunted it to extinction by the end of the 1500s.

SHEEP! Although dairy farming is huge here, we still have a lot of sheep - currently 9 sheep for every human. We used to have more than this.
NUCLEAR FREE! NZ is passionately nuclear-free, forced out of ANZUS in the 1980s when we outlawed nuclear power. We pay through the nose for our electricity instead.
RECENTLY POPULATED! Other than the polar regions, we were the last major landmass to be populated.
So there you have it. Aside from the fact that I live here, New Zealand is a pretty awesome country!

M is for MOTORBIKE

I'm doing another double blog-hop post today - the #SpankA2Z June Challenge and Saturday Spankings!

M is for MOTORBIKE. I love motorbikes - and the bad boys who ride them. I first fell in love with my husband because his motorbike caught my eye :)

I've got a different use for a motorbike though, in my brand new release Rachel's Journey

Anna's Cowboy Country Transportation - Riding into Love
Unfortunately for Rachel, the scene below is not a happy, romantic one like the picture above shows. She thought it was a good idea to use a dangerous chainsaw. James has her bent over the back of the motorbike and is showing her that it wasn't ...

“Bend over,” James growled, pushing her back down over the bike, flicking her thighs with the belt to make her spread her legs wider apart so her bottom was presented properly for his belt.

When she was in position he rested his hand lightly on the small of her back again and she took comfort in it. It just rested there lightly, it wasn’t holding her; if she hadn’t been waiting for the vicious biting sting of James’ belt to fall she would have liked having his hand there, just touching her gently like that.
Crack! She screamed and jumped upright when the first blow landed – the pain was unlike anything she’d felt before. It was worse than a hundred bee stings at once; it felt like her bottom was on fire!
Both her hands flew to her butt and started rubbing and tears were stinging behind her eyes.

L is for ... Laurel & Maggie with their tale of Lists, Love & Lust!

I have more guests visiting me today for the #SpankA2Z - Laurel Jane and Maggie Ryan!

They have a brand new book which sounds absolutely fantastic - I can't wait to read it!

When Casey Reeves loses her husband to an unexpected heart attack, she gives herself a new mantra: To live life as if it were an amazing adventure, as every single day matters.
Unfortunately, one of the things on her bucket list looks far better on paper, and when Casey finds herself up in a plane, strapped to a tall, handsome man, about to undertake her very first parachute jump, she realizes that she'd do just about anything to be able to back out.

Paul Jackson has been a parachute instructor ever since he retired early, and has seen his fair share of terrified women, but when Casey hysterically promises to do anything he asks in return for being able to return to solid ground safely—even let him spank her—he's amused, and not a little intrigued. He's also more than willing to accept her bargain.

Casey finds herself taking a leap of faith—in more ways than one. The two begin their journey together, spending some time on a luxurious yacht, in a tropical rainforest and even in a ranch in outback Australia, as they work their way through her list.

What they discover is that life has a tendency not to follow carefully designed plans. With Paul beside her, Casey quickly learns that living every day to its fullest entails far more than she’d ever imagined. And by her side throughout the action, danger and laughter is a man who not only has no hesitation in reddening her bottom when she deserves it, but can send her soaring into ecstasy with a single look or a touch of his hand.

Finding a new love to equal—or even exceed—her old one was not even on Casey's bucket list but now that she has, can they make it work? Is Paul really the man of her dreams?

Best-selling author Maggie Ryan and newcomer Laurel Jane have put their heads and their pens together to come up with this, an exciting tale of romance, lust, love, spanking and adventure.

Excerpt:
"I'm very pleased to see you are still here," he said.

Casey attempted to think of something witty to say, but every word stuck in her throat. The only thing she could do was nod.

"Ready?"

She thought about quipping that she had been born ready but for some reason, the man towering over her looked quite capable of making her prove it. "Um, to go celebrate? Is that what you mean?"

"Believe me, Casey, you'll always understand exactly what I mean." He paused to hold out his hand and she took it automatically. "We'll have some dinner, and then for dessert—well, at least for my dessert anyway—I will give you the spanking you've been promised. This is your last chance to back out. If you agree, and by that I mean agree to both dinner and having your bottom blistered, I'll pick you up tonight. Now tell me, are you ready?"
See what I mean? The book sounds fantastic! I've actually just started reading it. So far, I'm loving it! Grab your copy below.

K is for Kitchen!

Welcome to my blog! I'm do the #SpankA2Z June Challenge and today is K for kitchen!

The kitchen is the perfect place to administer spankings. There's all those utensils, some of which make fantastic implements, plenty of bench space to hold onto and bend over, and water - after all, nothing stings worse than a spanking on wet skin!

I'm sharing an excerpt today out of a BDSM story I once wrote that will probably never see the light of day; this part is of a spanking in the kitchen:

I’m going to spank you with as many things in the kitchen utensil drawer as possible. Sound like fun?” Tom nods, not caring whether I find the idea entertaining or not. “I thought so. I knew you’d like it.”            Yanking open the drawer, Tom pulls out the first utensil he comes across – a plastic serving spoon with Tupperware written on the handle. I cringe at what the Tupperware lady would think of her spoon being used in such a manner. Tom slaps it against his palm. “Bend over my fair lady, lets redden your bottom with this.”            I obey, putting my hands on the kitchen bench, taking a step back and bending over, spreading my legs and poking my bottom out provocatively, proudly displaying to my husband everything I have. The shirt I am wearing covers nothing, and of course I am naked from the waist down.  Tom wastes no time in spanking me with the spoon, he raises it high and brings it down sharply 3 times on each cheek, leaving little red splotches in its wake.            Putting the spoon down on the bench beside me, he rummages through the drawer again, this time pulling out a rubber spatula that I use for scraping the bowl when baking. Even with all my many years of experience at being a spankee, never would I have thought of using a rubber spatula!
Tom wastes no time in applying six strokes of the spatula to my waiting bottom, and even though I do my best not to react, I stretch up on my tip-toes in a vain attempt to avoid the stinging rubber blade. Tom laughs gleefully – in the space of 24 hours he’s found 3 new stingy spanking implements that it would never have occurred to us to use as anything other than their intended purpose.
Laying the spatula on the bench next to the wooden spoon Tom dives back into the utensil drawer once more.  I want to protest, to tell him that I’ve already have my requisite dozen smacks, and it’s time for a coffee, but I know better. To complain will only give me double what I’ve already had, and then some! So I remain stoically in position, wondering what other kitchen utensil Tom will see fit to spank me with ... to possibly be continued one day ...

J is for JAMES, JEREMY & JOHNNY

the names of my heroes. I'm cheating today, I'm doing a double blop-hop with the one post, I hope that's not breaking any rules :)
Welcome to my blog for both #WIPITUP Wednesday and #SpankA2Z featuring J for James, Jeremy & Johnny!

I like names that start with J. Don't ask me why, I don't know. But as well as having two sons both of whom start with J, my heroes all start with J too.
Jeremy was the hero in Bracken Ridge my debut novel. James is the hero in my brand new release Rachel's Journey, and Johnny is the hero in my current WIP.

And here is a snippet out of my new release:
This is just after the first time James spanked Rachel.

As Rachel carried on with her day her thoughts kept returning to James and the spanking he’d given her. She was surprised he’d carried through with this threat – she really didn’t think he had it in him.
She’d been convinced that if he had decided to follow through and spank her, it would have been playful, just a couple of light swats as a good-natured warning. He was always so laid-back and placid that to find an authoritative side to him came as quite a shock.
He’d spanked her hard too – those few swats had been serious – judging by the fire still radiating from her backside they’d been pretty close to full-force. And she didn’t know how she felt about that. Happy? - that he was a man of his word, and she found his authoritative side attractive? Or upset that he had spanked her?
She wasn’t sure. The only emotion she felt at the moment was shock. And, if she was honest, that crush she’d had on him forever had probably grown, just a little bit.

I is for: INJURY

Especially those incurred by bull-fighters, a.k.a. rodeo cowboy protection athletes.

Thanks for joining me! I'm having a lot of fun doing the #SpankA2Z this month.

Cowboys have been a life-long obsession of mine, and most of my deepest, darkest fantasies (or any fantasy really) involves cowboys. (Photos stolen from Pinterest)

Cowboy:)
While working on my brand new release Rachel's Journey I found a huge appreciation and admiration for the heroes of the rodeo ring - the cowboy protection athletes. Possessing immense skill and bravery, these men risk their lives to keep the bull-rider from harm. Despite their skill and bravery though, sometimes there are injuries, to both bull rider and protection athlete. And, very rarely, to the bull.
Here is a scene from my brand new release showing James getting injured in his role as a cowboy protection athlete:
It happened so fast it was a blur – one second there were 3 men surrounding the bull, in the next, James went flying through the air with the bull charging after him. There was a sickening, muted scream as the bull pounded James into the dust with his powerful head, and a few seconds of sheer terror in the ring as the second bullfighter struggled to distract the bull away from James.
The other cowboy was hobbling out of the ring, but James was lying prone on the ground, not moving. Men on horses came and herded the bull away with the help of the other bullfighter, and still James didn’t move.
The announcer called for St. Johns, and two men in white uniforms rushed in carrying a stretcher, once the bull was safely penned away. Rachel shoved her fist into her mouth to stifle a scream then leapt off the gate, trying to get to James.
Forgotten were those earlier feelings of anger and bitterness. Forgotten were the painful spankings she’d endured at his hand, forgotten was everything negative she’d ever felt towards James. She just wanted him to be okay.

Blurb:   Rachel was such a loser. Growing up with Tourette's Syndrome has taught her that. Who could possibly want someone who contorted their faces in bizarre twitches or snorted at random? Not even Mike, the man who had promised he loved her, had been able to put up with it. She broke up with him when she caught him cheating on her during their great overseas experience, promptly flying back home to hide and lick her wounds.James was the manager for the 850 acre farm she and her brother Simon had inherited.  She liked James. He'd always treated her nicely, like an honorary little sister, and she'd had a crush on him forever. Not that she could ever tell him. She wasn't going to set herself up for rejection ever again. But when it seems that someone is out to harm her, can she count on James to come to her rescue?Set in rural New Zealand, this epic romance will thrill you and keep you captivated, enchant you with charming detail and inspire you, as learning to overcome adversity ultimately is Rachel's Journey.

H is for Handsome men and horses!

And what else would I pick, really?

#SpankA2Z June Challenge

The only thing that I can think of that is better to look at than a horse, is a handsome man. In my opinion, all books are made better by the addition of a handsome man, or a horse, preferably both.

I see no reason to leave this unpinned... What a beautiful horse. Mmmm
Both the above photos are from my extensive collection of hunks on Pinterest that inspire my heroes.

And here's one of my favourite real-life photos - one of the heroes of the rodeo - a pick-up rider here in New Zealand riding one horse and calming another. Definitely inspiration-for-heroes material!

G is for Gorgeous, Generous, Gentle, Good-looking ....

The #SpankA2Z June Challenge is heaps of fun!

Today's letter is G. Gorgeous, generous, gentle, good-looking, gentlemanly ... what other important qualities start with G that make up a good man?
Of course, along with all these good qualities, a good man must also be tough, brave and capable.
One man who is the epitome of all these good qualities is Gil Favor trail boss of old TV series Rawhide - the inspiration for my latest WIP. (Of course lots of men fit these qualities, but how many of them start with G?)

Keep an eye out for my Trail Drive series coming soon!

New Release! Rachel's Journey

Welcome to my blog! I've been waiting a long time to be able to have my brand new release on this Saturday Spankings blog hop - here it is!

Rachel’s Journeyis very close to my heart. Like Rachel, I too, have Tourette’s Syndrome. I have tried to portray what it is like to live with this neurological disorder, and while Tourette’s affects everyone differently so each person’s experience is unique, it is my personal experience, how Tourette’s affects me, that is told in Rachel’s Journey. In some ways, Rachel’s Journey is my biography, only fictionalised. Rachel’s circumstances are nothing like my own, but in all the ways that matter, Rachel is me.

Rachel was such a loser.
These 8 sentences are from the first time James spanked Rachel:
As Rachel stood up, she glared at James, daggers shooting from her eyes.
James knew that if looks could kill, he’d be shrivelling up and disappearing through the ground right about now.  But that didn’t stop him from continuing the lecture he’d started earlier. He found his best scolding voice. “You are a brat. Why don’t you care about your personal safety? Or, come to think of it, the personal safety of anyone else who might be unlucky enough to be on the road at the same time as you?”
Rachel shrugged again. “I suck, ok? I don’t care about my safety because I don’t care about me! I thought you would have figured that out by now!”
James grabbed her by the shoulders and gave her a gentle shake, looking intently into her eyes. “No you do not suck. Why do you keep talking like that?”

F is for ... My FAVOURITE things!

Hello and welcome to my blog! As you know, I'm taking part in the June Challenge: Spanking A-Z

Back when I was at school, in the dim dark ages of the 90s, friendship books were all the rage. You know the ones - question after question of 'favourite' and 'worst' of every subject under the sun.

I thought it would be fun to do that on here. But I'm not doing 'worsts' and there's just 10 random questions. Read on to get to know more about me ...

Favourite colour: Pink. Isn't it obvious?

Favourite food: Chocolate. Specifically, white Lindt Lindor. I could be bribed to do anything with that gourmet treat!

Redstone Station Favourite book:  I read anything I can get my hands on, although rural romance is my favourite genre.
I love most spanking romance, but to list my favourite spanking romance books here would take all day, so I'll stick with mainstream: Therese Creed's Redstone Station is a book I have read twice so far, and will no doubt read again one day soon, it is that good. A debut novel too, written by a mum of 4 (now 5 I think) young kids, which makes it even better! Women CAN do it all!

Favourite movie: I can't narrow it down beyond 3. Here they are:
My new favourite movie!              Love Jack and Rose!               The Man from Snowy River (1982) - Australian 19th Century
In case you're not familiar with these they are: The Outsider, Titanic and The Man from Snowy River. Awesome movies!

Favourite animal: With the exception of rodents, I love all animals, but these are my favourites:
Playful dolphins in Bahamas. I got an opportunity to swim with the Dolphins. It was amazing, truly a dream come true!!! Beauty---Bellos ojos, mas bellos si ven bien. Conrrolate cada año. Lee en nuestro blog "Como descar frente a la PC" y otros I've been lucky enough to work with horses all my life, and for my 17th birthday I got to swim with dolphins - awesome!

Favourite car: Pink Cadillac. I've never owned one, but it is my dream car. I have had two pink cars though - a pink Mini and a pink Honda City Cabriolet - a Barbie car!

Favourite singer: Keith Urban

Favourite song: The River sung by Garth Brooks. It's so inspirational

rodeo cowboy prints
Favourite sport: I'm not a sporty person. I am probably the most un-coordinated person on the planet. But I love playing tennis (badly) riding horses, watching all horse sports, and rodeo - particularly barrel racing.

Favourite TV show: Australian show Home and Away is my favourite show that's on now, my favourite character is Brax.

Brax (home and away Australia) The Eric Fleming Home Page But of course there's no going past Rawhide which my Dad watched as a kid. I've got the first 5 seasons on DVD and am slowly working my way through. Awesome show!

As always, I don't own any of these pictures. I stole them all off Pinterest, my favourite go-to place for procrastinating.
Thanks for visiting my blog, please come back again tomorrow to see what I've done with "G" ... in the meantime, the other bloggers participating in this challenge are below:
