Hump Day Hump Scene!

I decided to share something hot today. I mean, it's hump day! So why not share a smoking hot sex scene?

Interested?

So how about a look inside the sex life of one of my favorite couples, Tah and Abby?

Here you go:

No words were spoken as he parked the bike and helped her off. He laced their fingers as he led her to the room. Another inhale and he pulled they keycard out and unlocked the door. His eyes met hers as he held it open for her. Everything was about to change again, and she only hoped these changes didn’t destroy her heart. She heard the soft click as the door shut behind her, and she turned to watch him. He’d picked up some type of safety bar and used it to secure the door before he turned to her. She licked her lips in anticipation as he caught the hem of his T-shirt and almost ripped it as he pulled it off and tossed it aside. “Tah.” Her voice was breathy, husky, and she couldn’t stop herself from backing to the wall as he stalked toward her.“Strip.” The words left his clenched jaw as he dropped his hand to his belt. She could see he was shaking. “Too long,” he growled as he pulled the belt free and tossed it aside before going to work on his jeans. “We were apart too long.” He rolled his shoulders and neck as he popped the button loose and tugged down the zipper. “I can’t be apart from you. It drives me insane with need, Abby.”His eyes met hers. Brown with yellow swirling through them. She felt a tremor rock her core as heat swept through her. His eyes dipped almost closed as he inhaled her lust. His lips edged back, revealing the full length of his canines, and damn, if the sight didn’t make her pussy cream more. She should be terrified.“Abby, if you don’t want me to sprout those claws you thought you saw and shred your clothes from your body, you really need to strip.”Abby gulped as she bent to untie her boots and kick them off. Tah moved to the edge of the bed and sat to remove his boots and socks. She reached for her jeans and taking a deep breath, pushed them down her hips and off.Utah growled as his eyes latched onto her bare pussy. She’d been so worried about him seeing her scar, she’d forgotten she wasn’t wearing panties.“I’m a virgin,” she whispered as he stood and moved toward her.His head rolled again, and she swore his chest puffed out. “Mine,” he rumbled as he scooped her into his arms and turned back to place her on the bed, coming down over her.His mouth took hers before she could say anything further. She knew better than to argue with the primal claim he’d just made. Not when she could see the animal so close to the surface, as the golden yellow that must be the eyes of the lion fought the warm brown of the man. He only left her mouth long enough to jerk her shirt over her head. Then he was back, hot, hard, and naked as his hands made quick work of her bra and tossed it aside. He burned her, setting her nerves on fire with a lust she’d never imagined could exist. Her breasts were crushed beneath the power of his chest as his hands explored and caressed her. His mouth finally left hers, and she gulped in air, not wanting to pass out and miss a moment of this. His teeth scraped over her neck again as he slid down until his hot breath fanned across her aching nipple. “Tah,” she moaned as he licked over it. One hand plumped her breast, holding it up for him as he licked her. “Oh God, Tah.”“Mine.” He told her and took her breast in his mouth. The warm wet suction had her arching off the bed, pressing deeper into his touch. Both her hands reached for his hair and cradled his scalp, scratching and holding him close. She knew she was rocking her pussy up into him, fighting for a touch that would bring relief to an ache she’d never known. He moved to her other breast and treated it to the same thorough attention. When he pulled back, they were even more swollen, the tips wet from his mouth. He pinched and tugged at her nipples, making her cry out as her hands slipped to claw at his shoulders.“Mine.” He informed her again, and she was helpless to do anything but nod in agreement. His fingers brushed over her scar, and she felt torn in different directions when his gaze fell there. Part of her wanted to hide it as she had all her life, since the day she awoke in the hospital with it. But there would be no hiding from Tah. His mouth dipped, and he traced each claw mark with his tongue, sending pulses of liquid fire to explode in her womb. This time he whispered his claim against her skin as he nuzzled her there. “Mine.”His touch left her boneless, unable to do more than watch as he skimmed over her belly, pressing her legs apart. He shifted until he settled between her thighs, using his broad shoulders, spreading her wide. He inhaled deeply and the pure pleasure on his face kept any embarrassment she might have felt from registering. When his eyes met hers, they were a deep amber, a perfect blend of the brown and gold.“Mine,” he said as he watched her. He rubbed his face against her plumped folds, but made no move to taste or touch like she wanted.“Mine,” he said again and waited, searching her face for something.“Yes,” she agreed, realizing he was waiting to see if she would deny him again. “Yours.”That rumble left his chest again as he parted her and drove his tongue inside her pussy.“Tah!” She almost came off the bed as she screamed his name. He pumped his tongue in and out of her, fucking her with it, and though she’d had toys, nothing could have prepared her for the rapture of his touch. His thumb found her clit and rubbed over it. She came with another cry, his name spilling from her lips. Tremors wracked through her as he purred against her, the vibrations keeping her lost in the pleasure washing over her. She was still gasping for air when he flipped her over to her belly, shoved a pillow under her hips, and pulled her up to her knees, moving in behind her. Oh, God. He would be incredibly deep like this. She didn’t doubt she could take him. Her heart screamed she’d been made just for him. She was his just as he claimed. His cock pressed into her and kept pressing until he filled her. He shuddered behind her as her pussy contracted and fluttered around him, struggling to adjust to the newness of him inside her. His hands were hard where they gripped her hips.“Mine.” The growl left his lips just seconds before he began to move. Slow and easy strokes quickly turned into deep, hard thrusts that had her dropping her head to the bed and clenching her fingers in the covers. He rode her hard, taking her as if he needed to brand her with his scent, and this was the only way he could accomplish it. Her mind was trying to make her acknowledge something, something she might feel was important later, but she denied it, reveling in the sheer pleasure of being claimed by Tah. That’s what this was. It was more than sex. It was a primal claiming as he fucked her senseless. She didn’t think it could get better as she screamed with another orgasm. His body lowered over hers, and she felt his breath at her shoulder. One hand fell forward to brace him as the other shoved her hair aside before it dropped to the mattress too. She had only a moment before she felt the scrape of his teeth against the muscle where her shoulder met her neck. Then he struck, his canines breaking skin as he bit her and held her in place beneath him.He came with a roar muffled against her skin as she shuddered and jerked under him. She felt no pain, no horror at what he’d just done. She felt loved, desired, claimed. She felt mated. He lifted one of his hands to cup just under her right breast, and she shuddered as his fingers seemed to fit perfectly against the scars a lion’s paw had left in her skin. He pulled his teeth free, and she felt her pussy clench, forcing another spurt of semen from his cock as he licked over the wound he’d made.“Mine.” He purred against her as he continued to lick where he’d bit.
Once again, she was marked by the beast.

Angry and jealous. That’s the perfect way to describe Jason Parker. After feeling that way for so long, Jason’s had enough. He’s starting to hate who he's become and his perfect facade is cracking. Jason’s blaming everyone but himself, he’s lashing out and the only thing that matters is numbing his own pain, doubt, and guilt.

In the aftermath of betraying his step-brother, again, Jason slowly begins to see that no one is perfect and you can’t be alone. He’s pushed his family away and used people, mostly women, to make himself feel better. If people let him walk all over them, why shouldn’t he? That’s always been his attitude but maybe it’s not right.
When his step-brother’s ex-girlfriend shows up, Jason can't deny the pull he feels toward her. His one steamy night with her as a teenager pushed him toward the downward spiral he’s been on. He knows he should keep his distance. But he can’t seem to stay away from the pretty brunette.

Corinne's changed since they were seventeen. She's no longer the spoiled brat out to be arm candy like her mother taught her. She sees something in Jason. Something he desperately wants to believe is real. When she pushes him to be better, he falls for her. His feelings for her are strong and he can’t ignore them forever. Once he gives in he gives it his all. He can only hope everyone is ready to see the real Jason Parker.

Anger, betrayal, jealousy, and love. Jason and Corinne are only letting one shine through.

Why We Love Genre Mash-Ups! (And Your Should, Too)

Why We Love Genre Mash-ups (And You Should, Too!)

Greetings, readers of book sizes great and small! I am Genella deGrey and it would be my privilege to discuss with you a topic that has flown under the radar for most of us:

Genre Mash-ups

(AKA, Mixed Genre, or what I lovingly refer to as a ‘mashie.’)

First, let’s explore an explanation of today’s topic with which you may be slightly more familiar – or possibly help you to understand what exactly a Genre Mash-up is, in the medium of Feature Films. Here is a short list of motion pictures off the top of my head that either started off as literature or were written for the big screen:

Cowboys vs. Aliens

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

The Three Musketeers (2011,
Sukiyaki Western Dejango

Back to the Future III

Kung fu Hustle

The obvious ones are Cowboys vs. Aliens, Sukiyaki Western Dejango and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

The films titles that may be on the down low about their subjects are as follows and why:

The Three Musketeers — (2011 – the reason I feel compelled to mark the year is because there have been so many Musketeers films made – what can I say? The book is a classic.) You may or may not know this, but this particular historical mashes with Steampunk – which is normally Victorian time-period or post-apocalyptic/futuristic, rather than during the time of Louis XIV, in the early 1700’s. Sound weird? Well, there are plenty of gorgeous men to ogle – all of them in period clothing (a passion of mine). If that’s not incentive enough to take a look-see, than I don’t know what is. ;)

Back to the Future III — Historical/Sci-fi/comedy. Now that’s a mashie!

Kung Fu Hustle — Comedy/gangster-crime and echoes of Kung Fu moves. Kinda fantasy, kinda historical (1940’s). This one is definitely good for a few giggles.

“So what’s the big deal about genre mash-ups,” you might ask?

On the happy side, if you find two genres you adore that are woven together in the same story, you have a win-win on your hands. For instance: Think of two of your favorite genres… Now Google them together. I’ll bet there has been a book (or film) already written or in the works that will be of interest to you. How can you not love that?

What is the most difficult thing about a genre mash-up?

I can tell you from experience, trying to sell a genre mash-up novel will get you into a bit of a sticky wicket almost every time. Publishers, quite understandably, have no idea how to market a genre mash-up. One example would be historical/sci-fi. How would one advertise that kind of mash-up? Who is your target audience? For the majority of people, those are two VERY different genres. (Although I would like to point out that if Back to the Future III did it, it CAN be done successfully ;) )

It happened one dark and stormy night in a galaxy far, far away… ;)

When I first pitched my book, Remember Me, (where angels, demons and vampires lingered, mingled and caused a whole lot of trouble for a handful of people in Victorian England) We must speculate that the woman to whom I pitched it had no clue how to market my idea. Instead of admitting that, she ended up telling me that because God was mentioned in the story, it would never sell.

Um… Angels. Duh! It’s kinda hard NOT to mention the leader of the army… Incidentally, Remember Me DID get published by the very next person I pitched it to.

Fall in love with Genre Mash-ups

As it turns out, Remember Me (RM), an ensemble piece (meaning the novel has many characters whose storylines intertwine and intersect throughout the book) became the flagship novel, first in a series of angel/demon books currently in the works. They will all be stand-alone stories, however, RM is the first —the world-building book— and each story thereafter will take place in different times throughout history using that established world. Once I have three books out, I will likely refer to them as the Equilibrium Series (working title.)

The second book, Sins of the Flesh (published by Totally Bound and available on Amazon) is an erotic romance that mashes angel/demon/historical (that even includes a scene with the H & H from RM.)

BTW, I really do adore genre mash-ups. Another of my books (unrelated to the above-mentioned novels) is Oasis of Eden, a re-release, due out February 13, 2015 through my UK publisher, Totally Bound. OoE takes place in 1923 and is an historical/erotic/romance with a sci-fi twist mashie. :)

One lucky winner (chosen by Lacey Thorn, mistress of this blog)

…will get PDF versions of both Remember Me and Sins of the Flesh.

Mash It Up Challenge:

After reading this article, can you think of genre mash-ups that might be of interest to you that you haven’t been able to find yet? Post them in the comments and perhaps you’ll spark the imagination of an author or two. We want to write books everyone loves to read, so in essence, your wish is our command :)

Find and read a mashie or two. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised.

Blessings to you and yours in the new year and always,

G.

The Demon Chronicles

Here's a look at another one of my series, The Demon Chronicles. This is a trilogy of stories and is available in both e-book and print versions. I'll be giving away a print anthology with all three stories in it to one of you who comments!

Sometimes appearances can be deceiving...

Outcasts in their home world, Serephin, Carami and Brahman decide to risk it all and venture to a new place—the human world—praying they might find a form of sanctuary. While they discover they're no longer segregated as they were in their realm, their unique genetic traits just might get them killed. Struggling to overcome the odds, they take a stand against those determined to destroy them, and discover that love is the one risk worth fighting for.

Excerpt from Serephin

“Drallan, I think she awakens.”
She heard the voice just to the right and managed to keep her eyes closed. She explored with her other senses. She was lying on a soft surface, bedding of some sort. They smelled of musk and man. It was an alluring scent. There was a man beside her and another somewhere within the room she was in.
She was in Zandova, and she was alone. She shifted slightly and realized something else. She was naked. Her clothes and her pack were gone. Not a big deal with the flow of demon magic in her veins, but an inconvenience none-the-less. If she remembered her lore correctly, humans weren’t big on nudity, preferring even to engage in their sexual trysts with partial clothing or in the dark.
She fluttered her eyes open and moaned for good measure. According to what she’d heard all her life, human women were weak, frail. She must act the part as best she could.
“What…? Where am I?”
“Easy.” The man by the bed was big, muscles bulging in his arms and chest, which was deliciously bare. Interesting. His eyes were a tawny color, so light a brown they were almost golden. They went well with his golden skin and hair.
“Who are you? Where am I?” She tried to make her voice sound a little fearful, but she found the emotion hard to embrace. It just wasn’t in her.
“She’s awake?” Another man questioned as he entered the room. He must be the one the other called Drallan.
This one was completely clothed, but just as large. The human male was definitely not weak, at least in form. He had dark hair that hung well past his shoulders and a sword strapped on his back. A warrior of some kind it seemed. She should have read more of this world instead of just listening to Carami. Carami was the one of the three of them who knew the most about this world. And with her mouth and temper, it was Carami who would probably get into the most trouble on her own.
Serephin groaned. Her first course of action must be to find Carami.
“Is she ill?” Drallan asked, as he approached the other side of the bed.
A hand came out to touch her forehead, then slid beneath the covering to rest on her chest. He didn’t fondle or even touch much of her breasts, just splayed his open hand over the top.
“I feel no fever,” the tawny one said and pulled his hand out.
“Get her water, Morgrin,” Drallan commanded and sat beside her on the bed. “How do you feel this morning?”
“How long have I been here? Where am I? Was there another with me?”
“Whoa,” Drallan commanded and held his hand up. “We will exchange questions and answers soon. First, you must drink. You have been asleep for longer than is usual, and I would see your body replenished.”
She took the cup Morgrin offered and drained it completely before handing it back to him. She was thirsty. Too thirsty. “How long have I been asleep?”
“This is the third day,” Morgrin told her and held the refilled cup out to her.
She took it and sipped, allowing her mind to absorb the news. Three days. She had been unconscious for three days. Where were Carami and Brahman?
Please, let them be safe. Brahman would be helpless enough without his full powers at his disposal. She must force his freedom on him as soon as they saw one another again. He would need it to survive in this new world. He could not be tied to her forever.
“What is your name?” Drallan asked.
A question for a question. At least this was one she could easily answer.
“Serephin.”
“A beautiful name,” Morgrin said, taking the cup from her and setting it aside.
“Where am I?”
“You are in our home,” Drallan said. “Lucky for you, my brother and I were headed back here when we found you. I’m not sure how you managed to get so far onto our lands without discovery. Had another found you, you could have been killed instantly.”
“Your people are prone to kill women?”
Hope you enjoyed that look! Leave a comment for your chance to win!

Happy Reading!

Passion Awakened

Passion Awakened by Jessica Lee

 Blurb:

To maintain a civil society in the future, citizens are forced to take government-issued drugs to suppress their primal urges.

Creed Donovan, Sustain drug enforcer for the Federation of Americas, is on the trail of a fugitive. The chase through time in search of the criminal has landed him in the year 2015. More than six hundred years into the past.

Shayla Murphy has left the rat race of the city behind to work on her latest novel in the beauty of the North Carolina Mountains. Suddenly, her peaceful retreat turns into a hostage scene straight out of a sci-fi flick. But when the sexy man who saves her needs a little rescue of his own, Shayla can’t kick him out. Especially after he reveals he’s from the future, his ride home has been stolen, and his own supply of Sustain went with it.

Without the libido-inhibiting drug, Creed’s long repressed arousal will soon stir, untethering carnal urges he’s never experienced. Trapped with a beautiful new roommate and on the verge of detox, he struggles to stifle the raging desire in his blood, for her sake and his. Because if his passion awakens, how will he ever survive this century—survive Shayla—with his mind and heart intact?

EXCERPT:

“You’re really…” Shayla just couldn’t form the words. They felt too ridiculous on her tongue.

“From the twenty-seventh century.”

“And this drug makes it where no one wants to…” Her palm went to her mouth, covering her lips. When had she suddenly lost the ability to finish her sentences?

“Participate in sexual activity,” Creed said without a flinch, as if he were talking about the desire to or not to consume steak.

Wow. She’d been struck back to monosyllables. Her head spun on the concept of what the future held. A world without intimacy.

“Umm…” It seemed so rude, but it would kill her if she didn’t ask. “So does this mean that you have never…?”

“No.” He grabbed the display from her hand and stowed it back inside his backpack. “I’ve never had sex if that’s what you were about to ask.” His head swung back in her direction. “My job is to enforce the law of the Federation, not break the code I’m sworn to uphold.”

“Oh. I see.” God, it blew her mind that a whole society was celibate. And that Creed Donovan, the tough alpha male who would easily be the inspiration for one of her most erotic novel creations was a virgin. Damn. Why did she find that tidbit of information one of the most provocative things she’d ever heard? Her nipples went rock hard. Heat crept up her throat and into her cheeks. She needed a distraction. Fast.

“So there’s no kind of special equipment in that bag of yours that would help you to repair your implant?” Shayla indicated the pack beside him with a wave of her hand.

“No. And even if I could, I’m out of reserves.” A guttural sound emanated from the back of his throat. One that said he was one pissed-off Double T, short for time traveler. Hey, why not? She’d already deemed herself a nutcase for believing this. “A damn rookie mistake,” he went on to say. “I’d been chasing Thomas for two weeks, and I’d finally zeroed in on him. I knew I’d be heading back yesterday with the rebel in custody, so I didn’t want to lose my lead by warping back for more Sustain supplies.” He shook his head and mumbled another curse under his breath. “Not a smart move.”

“You referred to the other man, Thomas, as a rebel. What kind of rebel?”

“A Sustain rebel. He and a woman we’d already retrieved by the time I located Thomas here had removed their implants and fled. That type of rebellion isn’t tolerated. It would set our civilization back more than a century in progress, not to mention the damage that can be done by warping through timelines unchecked.”

“And your job is to ‘retrieve’ these rebels.”

He nodded. “Yes. An enforcer.”

Shayla slowly nodded. “I take it then that when Thomas did this to you, the chosen site for the stabbing was no accident?”

“He knew exactly what he was doing,” he nearly growled, teeth bared. “He also took my timepiece. Wanted me trapped here, detoxing in the twenty-first century so I can ‘appreciate’ what I’m forcing our people to live without.” He pushed from the sofa cushions, marched over to the bar, and with his back to her, spread his hands wide on the surface.

“So the fever, dizziness, and when you passed out really isn’t related to any kind of infection is it?”

“I’m in withdrawal.”

Shayla’s gut tightened. “How bad is it going to get? I mean, how long before help arrives?”

“A week. Maybe two.”

Her breath hitched. If he had already experienced withdrawal symptoms… She didn’t own a medical degree, but that didn’t sound good. “What does that mean for you and what your body will go through without Sustain while you wait?”

His words barely reached above a whisper, but she heard him nevertheless. And the answer lifted the hairs on her body.

“God only knows.”

Author bio:

Almost every author's bio states they've been writing since they learned how to read. It's what they've always wanted to do. Well, my journey wasn't so straight and narrow. I was a nurse for over twenty years and hold a bachelor's degree in science with a major in biology. So as you can see, my career path originally went in the opposite direction. I didn't discover my passion for the craft until after I'd had my son and decided to work part-time.

I've always loved to read but had never read a paranormal romance. Then one night on break at work, I began reading Karen Marie Moning's Spell of the Highlander. I couldn't believe what I'd been missing, and I immediately fell in love with the genre.

I wanted to write like that. I wanted to create worlds where others could find the same escape and fascination I had when I read my first sensual paranormal romance.

And I hope that's what I've accomplished in my work. Please dive in, hold on tight, and enjoy the adventure.

Jessica Lee lives in the southeastern United States with her husband and son. She loves writing and can't wait for that quiet time each day when her son is in school, and she can get lost in another place and world with the fantastical, sexy creatures in her head.

Sounds great! Remember to leave a comment to be entered in the grand prize drawing on Christmas Day for a $100 gift card!

Happy Reading!
