Audio Alert!
Really excited to announce I've been given the audio rights back to all of my Awakening Pride books, including the spin off series Awakening Pride: The Holloways! Look for me to start working on getting these into audio soon! I'm just waiting on the final manuscripts to load and put them up for selection. My goal is to have the same person read the entire series. I have no idea yet if I prefer a male or female voice. Feel free to comment with your vote!
In the meantime, have you seen these awesome book trailers? I really need to have more done! Waking the Beast was put together by Syneca. His to Bear was put together by Michele Paulin. I love them both!
Which of my books would you like to see a trailer of?
Until next time...
Happy Reading!

Feeling Supernatural?
I"m a huge fan of the show Supernatural. Dean, Sam, Castiel, Crowley! Hell, even Lucifer is hot! (ha ha ha) I like reading and watching about things that go bump in the night. I'm also a huge gamer, and my crack of choice is World of Warcraft. Put these two together and voila! The Demon Chronicles Trilogy is born! Three human warlocks wielding the power of fire! I love it!
For once in her life, Serephin wanted to be loved. Being half human and half demon made her an outcast. They are no longer outcasts, but if their demon blood is discovered they will become the hunted.
Morgin and Drallan vow to protect Serephin as long as she agrees to become their mate. Serephin can’t admit what she is and her mates have secrets of their own. Can the threesome find a way to trust and form a bond that includes love?

Excerpt:
She fluttered her eyes open and moaned for good measure. According to what she’d heard all her life, human women were weak, frail. She must act the part as best she could.“What…? Where am I?”“Easy.” The man by the bed was big, muscles bulging in his arms and chest, which was deliciously bare. Interesting. His eyes were a tawny color, so light a brown they were almost golden. They went well with his golden skin and hair.“Who are you? Where am I?” She tried to make her voice sound a little fearful, but she found the emotion hard to embrace. It just wasn’t in her. “She’s awake?” Another man questioned as he entered the room. He must be the one the other called Drallan. This one was completely clothed, but just as large. The human male was definitely not weak, at least in form. He had dark hair that hung well past his shoulders and a sword strapped on his back. A warrior of some kind it seemed. She should have read more of this world instead of just listening to Carami. Carami was the one of the three of them who knew the most about this world. And with her mouth and temper, it was Carami who would probably get into the most trouble on her own. Serephin groaned. Her first course of action must be to find Carami.“Is she ill?” Drallan asked, as he approached the other side of the bed.A hand came out to touch her forehead, then slid beneath the covering to rest on her chest. He didn’t fondle or even touch much of her breasts, just splayed his open hand over the top.“I feel no fever,” the tawny one said and pulled his hand out.“Get her water, Morgrin,” Drallan commanded and sat beside her on the bed. “How do you feel this morning?”“How long have I been here? Where am I? Was there another with me?”“Whoa,” Drallan commanded and held his hand up. “We will exchange questions and answers soon. First, you must drink. You have been asleep for longer than is usual, and I would see your body replenished.”She took the cup Morgrin offered and drained it completely before handing it back to him. She was thirsty. Too thirsty. “How long have I been asleep?”“This is the third day,” Morgrin told her and held the refilled cup out to her.She took it and sipped, allowing her mind to absorb the news. Three days. She had been unconscious for three days. Where were Carami and Brahman? Please, let them be safe. Brahman would be helpless enough without his full powers at his disposal. She must force his freedom on him as soon as they saw one another again. He would need it to survive in this new world. He could not be tied to her forever. “What is your name?” Drallan asked.A question for a question. At least this was one she could easily answer.“Serephin.”“A beautiful name,” Morgrin said, taking the cup from her and setting it aside.“Where am I?” “You are in our home,” Drallan said. “Lucky for you, my brother and I were headed back here when we found you. I’m not sure how you managed to get so far onto our lands without discovery. Had another found you, you could have been killed instantly.”
“Your people are prone to kill women?”

Carami longed for a place to belong. She and her two friends have always been outcasts because of their human appearance. She dreams of going to the human world and has read every piece of information she can get her hands on in preparation. When the opportunity comes, she can’t wait. Unfortunately, she discovers nothing is as she read. Furthermore, this world contains proof of a long hidden secret that will shake the foundation of everything she’s known.
Maddox didn’t expect to come across a beautiful woman on his trip. One look and he can’t turn away. Somehow he must convince her to mate with him and his twin brother Hrirth. It feels as if Carami is the woman that the brothers have been waiting for. Now all they have to do is stay alive long enough to make it back home.
Excerpt:
Carami awoke huddled under a blanket, freezing. The last thing she remembered she, Serephin, and Brahman had gone through the summoning mist to Zandova. The plan had been to hold hands and arrive together, but that wasn’t how it had worked out. The wind had ripped her from her friends and had her tumbling in what seemed like an endless void. She had no idea where she was or if her friends were with her.
“I know you’re awake,” a deep voice she didn’t recognize said. “I can see the change in your breathing.”
She lifted her eyelids and glanced around. She was in some type of fabric building. She was lying on the ground on another thicker fabric. And she was naked. She could feel her temper rise as she took stock of her body. Her head ached slightly, and she was desperately thirsty, but nothing else seemed to pain her. She didn’t feel violated and surely she would if anything had occurred while she was out.
“Where are my clothes?” she demanded.
“In my bag,” he told her with a boyish grin. “I needed to check for injury when you didn’t awaken for so long.”
“Give them to me,” she commanded.
He laughed. “I think not. I’d like to talk first. Find out who you are and where you came from. You shouldn’t be travelling alone. Not with the mark.”
“The mark?” she asked, but her hand went immediately to cover the mark above her heart.“You must have been hidden well to have survived the cleansing,” he told her.
“The cleansing?” Her head was spinning. What did her mark have to do with a cleansing? She hadn’t read anything about a cleansing.
“Where are you from?” he asked.
“I…” She had no idea what to say. “I’m very thirsty.”
“Of course,” he said and shook his head. “I’m sorry. You’ve been out for three days. Of course you’d be thirsty.” He turned back to her with a pouch of some sort that he’d unscrewed a cap from. The cool water coated her mouth, and she drank deeply. “Not too fast,” he said, and his hands covered hers, urging her to slow down. “There is plenty.”
She watched him while she drank. He was big, Brahman big, with broad shoulders that were perfectly visible in the sleeveless tunic he wore. His thighs bulged where he squatted down beside her, and a wicked blade was strapped to one of those thighs. His brown hair hung past his shoulders in waves, and he had deep green eyes. Friendly eyes. He didn’t fear her, but then he couldn’t possibly know the magic she held within her. No one had before Serephin had taught her how to tap into it. It had been like waking up.
“I was travelling with another woman and a man,” she said. “Did you find them as well?”
“No one but you,” he told her. “Are they family?”
“Yes,” she nodded. Where could they be? How would she find them?
“Are they the ones who’ve been hiding you?” he asked. Why would she have been hidden? He’d said something about her mark and a cleansing. She had to find out what that meant.
“I’ve been hidden all my life,” she said, “practically like I was in another world.” There was more truth in that statement than he could possibly realize.

Excerpt: Prologue
“Who is his mother?” Princess Olphina demanded as she stared down at the sleeping infant.“She is dead,” the man stated with a careless shrug of his shoulders. Not a lie exactly. She would die eventually.“The child is your blood?” Though she asked the question, she still reached down and used her nail to scrape the child’s skin, drawing a drop of blood and making the child begin to cry. She took it on her fingertip and brought it to her mouth, where she sucked it off. She inhaled deeply and slowly a smile took form on her lips. “He is the one.”“What would you have me do?” The old man remained focused on the Princess, ignoring the child’s cries.“He is to be taught in the ways of the old magic. Let his father see to it. When the time is right, he will be bound to the demon of my choosing. His magic is strong. With the right guidance, the right master, he will be great.” She glanced down once more at the squalling baby and laughed. “Release your rage now, little one, for soon you will require permission. I have great plans for you. Great plans.” She turned and headed toward the door. “See to him,” she commanded and left.A woman moved quickly from the shadows and scooped the baby up. She threw a glare to the man while she moved to sit and releasing the shoulder fastening of her gown, brought the baby to her full breast. He latched on with vigor and had her smiling. “He has the same hearty appetite as his father,” she said and though she smiled, sadness seemed to fill the air around her.“My son will return to us,” the old man said as he turned from her and moved across the room.“He is gone,” she whispered. “I don’t believe he is coming back, and I don’t blame him. Why would he?”“For his wife. His child.” The old man’s voice shook with suppressed rage. “For his family.”“He leaves for his family,” she countered. “If he can find a way to break this curse, to free us from the bondage the demons keep us under, then he will return. He has to try.” She glanced up at the man, the father of her mate, and pleaded with him. “Do you not understand what he gives up? We have each other still. He has no one, nothing. He is alone. If he is caught, it is death.” Her gaze dropped down to the baby, and she brushed her fingers over his dark hair. “He does it for his son, in hopes that Brahman will know a freedom we never have.”“The boy’s head is full of dreams. Damn him for the fool he is. There is no way to break the curse. It is our punishment for thinking we could trust a demon.”“We are to be punished for seeking friendship and not realizing the trap laid for us?” She shook her head pulling her dress up and recovering her breast before lifting the baby so his head rested on her shoulder. Gently, she patted his back. “Our magic is old, older than any ever known. Our numbers are diminished, even more so since we’ve been confined in bondage. Our history lost, save for the stories passed by mouth. Romulus seeks answers, knowledge of what the demons did to bind us and our magic this way. He seeks to find the way to free us all.”“My son was always a fool. He never listened to a word I said, his head always filled with dreams. Brahman will be raised as the Princess has ordered. When the time comes, he will be bound to whom she says and that will be that. I’ll allow you to stay with the boy until he is weaned from your breast. But I will not allow you to interfere in his training.”She nodded her head, biting her tongue until he left the room. Only then did she slip across the room to the shadows where she had weaved a ward of protection. None who entered the room would sense or even be aware she and the baby were there, at least none who didn’t possess the same magic. She gently lay the baby down and couldn’t resist brushing her hand over his black curls.“Your father will see you free one day, Brahman. I swear he will. You must be brave and strong and do as you are told until that day arrives. I would give my life to stay with you, to watch over and protect you always. But it is not to be. My time draws near. I can sense the death that awaits me, and I go to it unafraid. He thinks he does right, convinces himself I must die to prevent interference with the Princess’s plans. Forgive him. He has not the strength of his son. I pray you meet your father one day, Brahman. Romulus is the greatest man I’ve ever known. And he gave me you. The Princess may have plans for you, but so do your father and I. Our son will know freedom.”She leaned low and nuzzled the baby’s cheek before kissing him softly on the forehead. “Not all knowledge is lost,” she whispered to the child. “I know things few others do. You see your grandmother, my mother, was one of the chosen. She was deemed worthy to hold the knowledge of our people inside her, so it would not be forgotten. She passed it on to me before she died. Now I will pass it on to you.” She ran her hands over his small form, letting her fingers rub over the mark he bore on the left side of his chest. She began to chant softly, her hands beginning to glow with a golden cast. The light left her fingers and appeared to enter the baby making his mark glow brighter and brighter. She slumped when she finished, and the glow disappeared.“I have given you hidden knowledge. You will only find it when you are ready. I’ve seen your destiny, my son. You will be greater than any realize. Be strong. Be brave. Trust in what you see with your heart. I love you, Brahman. No matter what stories you are told of your father and me, when the time is right, you will know you were loved.” With one final kiss, she turned and taking a deep breath, stepped out of the power of her protective ward and into the waiting arms of death.

She’ll have to run for the Holloway land and hope they’ll help her and not force her into a mating she doesn’t want. With hunters hot on her tail, she isn’t sure she’ll make it. Until something carries to her across the breeze, and she meets the bluest eyes she’s ever seen.
Holt never planned to stay with the Holloways. He was only there to offer temporary help. Then a dream ran to him and threw herself into his arms. Her fear was palpable, and when she begged him to protect her, he knew he wasn’t leaving.
He’d protect her, see to all her needs, and keep her right by his side. From the moment she sought his help, she became his to bear.
Excerpt:
“The ceremony is done. He agreed.” Jaeda pulled her head up long enough to declare then ducked it back into Holt at the look of fury on the eldest Holloway’s face. She felt it the moment Laramie took a step toward them, heard the deep inhale and knew exactly what he was taking note of. Her scent more than covered Holt. The constant rubbing, especially around his neck where the skin was thin and blood flowed so close to the surface, allowed the oil she secreted to absorb deep within him and start making subtle changes to him. He didn’t just smell like her. Soon, they would be difficult to distinguish between. There was only one other place that allowed such easy markability—his groin. She was looking forward to rubbing against him there.“You mated her without permission?” Laramie roared the question at Holt, and Jaeda was ashamed that she shook a bit.She glanced up at her Holt’s face. He didn’t even flinch, though he did drop a pointed glance at her before replying.“I haven’t mated anyone.”“Yes, you have,” she corrected him. She told herself he wasn’t rejecting her. He was human, therefore, he didn’t understand the bond he’d accepted. Yet.“No…”He started to speak but trailed off as she nodded against his neck.“Jaeda, stop hiding in my neck and sit up,” he ordered, and she hurried to obey. There was no anger toward her on his face. As if he already felt their connection and had picked up on her anxiety, he lifted his hand and caressed her cheek. “You think we’re mated?”“We are.”He shook his head. “We’re not mated.”“We are,” she argued, throwing a fretful look over her shoulder at Laramie and Murphy. There were other faces there, as well, but she didn’t pay them any attention. “You said the words,” she whispered.“My agreeing to protect you and see to your needs?” he asked. She nodded. “And you agreed to let me stay at your side.”Yells filled the air, and she disappeared into his neck again, rubbing her cheek against him.“Silence!” Laramie ordered, and everyone obeyed. “You agreed to her questions.”“Of course, I agreed to protect her and make sure she was okay. What kind of man do you think I am?”“Did you agree to keep her by your side?” Laramie probed.“Yes, until the time she felt safe.”“No, he said yes,” Jaeda interjected then felt guilty about her deception. “I forced him to say yes or no.”She glanced up at Holt, gauging his reaction. She’d known from the beginning he was meant to be hers. Obviously, it was a bit different for him since he wasn’t a bear shifter. She would have given him time, but she’d been afraid they wouldn’t be allowed that time once the Holloways arrived. By the behavior displayed, she felt her actions justified. She wanted Holt. She’d claimed Holt, and she’d done it before the Holloways could interfere and try to force her to choose one of them instead of the one her bear had already chosen.Holt didn’t seem upset with her. Instead of yelling, he nodded. His lips even tilted up in a brief grin before he spoke directly to her. “You didn’t force me, darling. You asked, and I agreed.”She caught her breath. He’d just finished their vows without even knowing. She dared a glance toward Laramie and saw his eyes close briefly before he nodded.“You’re mated. Welcome to the pack, Holt.”“Wait a minute,” Holt said. “No offense, but we’re not mated. I’ve been around shifters enough to know what happens when they mate. Jaeda never bit me.”“I asked her that when I came in and found her rubbing on you,” Murphy said. “I don’t think bear shifters bite.”“No,” Jaeda said, sitting up again to search her mate’s face. “But I can bite you if you need it to feel mated.” She went to cuddle against him, but her Holt leaned away, hands on her shoulders.“Let’s hold off on that,” he said and turned her in his lap so her back pressed against his chest. She felt the rebuke but tried not to take offense since he still held her to him. He was human, and she’d tricked him. She couldn’t expect him to be happy about it.“Someone’s going to need to explain all of this to me. Hell, maybe I’m still asleep,” he muttered. “I should pinch myself.”She pinched his arm and jumped when he jerked it out of her reach.“You said you were going to pinch yourself,” she told him, reaching out for his arm and bringing it back to her. She wrapped it around her shoulder and ran her cheek over the place she’d gripped. “I was trying to help.”He sighed behind her. “Look at me, Jaeda.”She reluctantly turned her head to meet his gaze over her shoulder.“We’re mated?”She nodded.“Yes or no,” he said, using the same words she had.“Yes,” she whispered. His glance lifted from her, and she knew he was looking at Laramie again. “This is binding?”She gasped in outrage and flung her elbow hard into her Holt’s stomach before standing and facing him.“Yes, it’s binding. You can’t back out of it.”“Whoa,” he grunted, rubbing his belly as he stood up to face her. “Calm down, kitten.”She growled in frustration, stomping her foot. “I’m not a kitten!”He looked uncomfortable for a second, and something flashed in his eyes that had her hackles rising. His friend Murphy was a cat shifter. Had her Holt been living with their pride? Was there a kitten he’d planned to claim as his own? Fury filled her at the mere thought of another touching her mate.“There will be no kittens!” she all but screamed at him.“How does she know about Kenzie?”She glared at the door where another red-haired male stood, a bit younger but closely resembling Murphy. They had to be related. As she watched, Murphy reached out to smack the other man in a way that made her think of siblings. It also reaffirmed Jaeda’s thought that the new man had been the one speaking.“Who’s Kenzie?” she demanded, facing her Holt again.“Ahh, hell,” Holt muttered, dropping his head down to his chest and rolling it back and forth.
Jaeda crossed her arms over her chest and glared at her mate. She wasn’t moving until she knew exactly who this kitten named Kenzie was.

Say what? A man is lobbying for more male nudity in movies and television! I'm curious to see what all of you think of this. Do you want more male nudity? That would include full frontal shots (which I believe would have to be no more than semi-erect to avoid censorship and a porn rating).
For those of you who watch shows like Game of Thrones or maybe watched Spartacus, do you want that? Think of Jon Snow showing it all! Want to see, or leave it be?
Here's the link to the post by Kevin Bacon where he demands more male nudity! So funny!

Soaring through Summer
It's been a fast paced summer. My last post was the beginning of June, but I swear it feels like it was yesterday. How is it that winter drags by but summer flies at the speed of light? Is it just me? In just a few weeks the new school year will start. This means school fees, sports equipment, school supplies, school clothes (because you know they've grown and need new shoes, etc.), school pictures (because they have to do those at the start of the year!), and all the million other things I'm not thinking of. Who's ready for summer again? LOL
The kids and I took a three week vacation this year. We visit family, which is wonderful to help save on expenses. Basically we pay the gas and any food we eat on the road. We stayed with family, and they fed us, lol. We're very lucky to be able to do that. We stopped in Oklahoma City, Dallas, and Colorado Springs. I was delighted to meet with some awesome readers in Dallas and Colorado Springs! Such a blast spending time chatting with them I gave away several autographed books, bags, and other goodies.
Writing? I actually took a break. I didn't break the laptop out. I soaked up the family time and really enjoyed myself. We were busy the whole time, and it felt wonderful. I need to remember to take more time to explore the world outside of my imagination!
So what's coming up for me? Lots!
First up will be His to Bear, the first book in my brand new bear shifter series, The Holloways.
I love the cover. Sexy!
Those familiar with my Awakening Pride series will recognize the Holloways, who were introduced in The Liger's Mark. I fell in love with this family then and knew they needed their own series! I'm looking forward to adding to this series. His to Bear will release August 12!
Next will be Craving Sin, the next book in my Knight's Watch series. This one is all about Gilly and his new love. I'm hoping to have it edited and ready to go by the end of August, though it might be first of September. There always seems to be something I'm not expecting that comes up.
I'll be working on the next Awakening Pride book after that, along with the next Pleasures book. I'm super excited to start them both. I'm really hoping I can get another stand alone self pub book out, as well. I'll have to wait and see what time allows for. Everything else will spill over into my 2016 writing schedule. I'll know more toward the end of the year and share in late November.
I'm still debating my 25 Days of Reader Appreciation for this year. If I don't do it, I'll do something different to celebrate. Stay tuned, lol.
Hope you're reading some great books this summer. I know I am! I've even read a few new to me authors and fallen in love! On that note, I'm off to read!
Happy Reading!

The $0.99 Book: The Art of Pricing
Everyone loves a free read with the $0.99 book coming in a close second. It's a great way to find a new to you author or even pick up the first in a series from one of your favorites. Somehow this all went wrong though. What started out as a great marketing ploy has now become the expected norm. Why can't we have all books for this great price? Why are authors so greedy? The answer is, we're not greedy. I'm going to break the financials down to show what the average author makes for a book priced that low.
Let's start with the self publishing author. For this model, I'm going to assume the author hires out for cover, edits, and maybe formatting. This model would differ a bit from author to author. For the self published author costs are paid upfront, before the book is published. So going into it, we're already in the negative. For the purpose of this model, I'll use the arbitrary figure of $300 because it will work well number wise.
The author spends $300 to get the book ready for publishing. Then they price it at $0.99, which is the lowest price (other than free) that vendors allow. This price means the author is only allowed an average of 30% earnings from vendors. This is the normal rate for any book priced under $2.99. For a book priced at $0.99, this means the author only makes around $0.30 a copy. That means they need to sell 1000 copies just to break even. This is why most authors can't afford to do this for all their books, especially the ones writing full time and depending on their income to take care of their families. It's not about being greedy. It's about making an honest wage and meeting financial obligations.
Now, lets take a look at the author published through a publishing company. The same formula applies with slight changes. The upfront costs are covered by the publisher in most cases. The vendor percentages, however, don't change. The $0.99 book is still only netting a 30% earning of around $0.30. This time it is being split between the author and the publisher at a further percentage that is contracted between author and publishing house. If the author received 50% from the publisher, then that $0.30 is split evenly with both parties taking in $0.15 per copy.
I'm sure every author has a different experience, but the math really doesn't change much. Bottom line is the $0.99 book is a great way to market to new readers or even to try and bring interest to a series. That's what it was always intended to be.
All of these figures are based on pricing and what happens once the book is published. I didn't go into the average amount of hours invested in a project as they vary from author to author. What I wanted to share today was how pricing works from this side.
There's no need to worry. The $0.99 book deal won't go away.
Please feel free to let me know any other questions you might have. If I can't answer them for you, I'll find the right person who can!
Thanks so much for making reading a part of your day!

Sale! Sale! Sale!
For a very limited time the first two books in the Awakening Pride Series have been discounted! Waking the Beast is listed at $1.99 and Tempting the Tiger is marked down to $0.99! It's a great deal! If you haven't had the chance to grab them yet, now would be the time. Here's a look at both books and links where you can grab them!
Waking the BeastAwakening Pride Book 1By Lacey Thorn
The legend of the Paka Watu...
Ever since she was a young girl, Abby Lane can’t resist the allure of a cat shifter tribe forced to repress their beasts. On a trip to Africa, she discovers a coveted piece of information—the name the pride leader assumed when he left his home—and she traces his lineage to his descendant.
The sleeping lion...
Utah Pearce can't keep his gaze off the woman who slips into the bar every night. Though not his usual type, she brings out the possessive instinct in him, making him battle with himself as he tries to stay away.
Mine...
Abby’s research never prepared her for the reality in front of her. The beast is waking, and Utah is changing in ways both exciting and terrifying. He is possessive and dominant, and when he finally claims her, neither of them will ever be the same.
Excerpt:
“We need to talk, Abby.”
She nodded her head and put her hand up in a poor attempt to disguise a jaw-shattering yawn.
He twisted his neck, working the kinks out as best he could. “Maybe we need sleep first,” he admitted.
Her gaze fell to the bed then moved to the table as she began gathering up the trash. “About that…”
“About what?” he prompted when her voice tapered off.
She threw the trash away and turned to face him, picking up the towel she’d used on her hair and moving to cross the room. “The bed.”
He stepped in front of her, blocking her way. “What about the bed?”
“There’s only one.”
“The motel doesn’t have any double rooms.” At least as far as he was concerned. He hadn’t asked.
She narrowed her eyes at him as if preparing to call him a liar. He just crossed his arms over his chest and stared down at her.
“I’m not comfortable sleeping with you.” Her voice was soft, and his gut clenched at the lost look in her eyes, at the hunger he could see, as well as smell. She wanted him.
He moved in, running his hands up her arms to bury in her hair. Her eyes widened, but she didn’t do anything to stop him when he lowered his head and took her mouth with his. He pressed his lips to hers, licked over her bottom lip and nipped it softly with his teeth in an effort to get her to open up for him.
When she didn’t comply, he worked his mouth along her jaw to her earlobe. His tongue flicked the lobe before he nipped it with his teeth, and Abby gasped. He pulled back his gaze latching onto the parted curves before he dove and took, his tongue surging past her lips and teeth to find hers and wrapping around it.
She was up on her toes, reaching her arms toward his shoulders and all but climbing him as he bent to cup her ass and lift her into him. Her legs were around his waist, and he had her turned and pressed against the wall without pulling from the warmth of her kiss. She jerked back from his mouth, her head leaning back, exposing the slender column of her neck. He sank to it, grazing her flesh with his teeth and stroking his tongue out to taste her.
He ached. His cock. His teeth. His heart. And it was all for her.
“Tah.” His name was a gasp from her lips.
He groaned and moved his mouth back up toward hers.
“Tah.” She turned her head, denying him. Denying them both.
“Abby.” He moaned her name, flexing his hips and pressing into her where her legs wrapped around his waist. He felt her shudder, smelled the heat of her desire.
“Tah. Put me down please.”
His eyes snapped to hers, and he saw the denial there.
“You want me.” It was a statement, not a question, and she didn’t deny it.
“Not like this,” she said softly.
He slowly eased back from her, helping her as she unwrapped her legs and braced along the wall as if needing the support to find her own footing.
“Like this?” he questioned. He wanted to roar with rage at the loss of her. He needed her. Couldn’t she see how much he needed her?
“I may not be the most beautiful woman you’ve ever taken in your arms, but I’m most likely the smartest. And I know.”
It just pissed him off that she discounted herself that easily. She was the most beautiful, in all the ways that mattered. He’d just been too scared to admit it.
“You know what?” he asked when she shook her head and stepped away from the wall, tugging the robe closer together.
He thought she wouldn’t answer him as she scooped up the wet towel and stepped into the bathroom with it. But she faced him when she walked out. He could see the sadness in her eyes, and it nearly destroyed him.
“That I’m worth more than one quick night in a cheap motel,” she whispered, moving to the side of the bed and tugging back the covers. “I’ll give you the side closest to the door. The water’s hot if you want a shower.”

Reno has known there was more to him since he awoke in the hospital, alive when he should have died. Only one thought consumed him. Find Tah. Watch over him. Protect him. Then everything changed.
A tempted tiger...
A mission gone wrong brings him face to face with a woman who tempts his tiger from hiding. He wants her with a fierce hunger that consumes him and shocks him with the possessive nature she awakens.
Mine...
Amia belongs nowhere. Not with the Blane family of hunters she was born into, and not with the dominant man who kidnaps her and turns her world upside down. She runs. She fights. And when the time comes, she pays the price. Running isn't an option, and there's no fighting a man who turns her inside out with unquenchable lust. Maybe, just maybe, she's found where she belongs.
Excerpt:
“You want me?” She phrased it as a question, but they both knew he did.
He nodded and settled his hips more firmly against hers, letting her feel just how much he desired her. Just once, Amia wanted to feel what it would be like to have a man touch her with desire for something other than inflicting pain. She wanted to feel needed, cherished, perhaps even loved, though it would just be her body he thought of. It was more than she’d ever been given, more than she’d hoped for.
“I want you,” she finally admitted to him and watched his eyelids sink to half-mast over shining blue eyes. She thought she was beginning to understand what the color shift meant. One was man. One was whatever else he was, and the roars he was dropping were making her truly believe there was an animal in there somewhere. Which part of him would take her when she finally gave in?
He trailed one hand down over her black shirt to her stomach, spreading his fingers wide atop the material. “Are you asking me to take you, Amia?”
She thought of all the reasons she should say no. All the reasons to back out and stop before things went too far, before he saw the parts of her she wanted to stay hidden. Then she met his eyes and knew there wasn’t a reason that would stop her this time. She wanted something raw and elemental. Something to fuel fantasies for years to come. She wanted him to fuck her. Should she tell him that she wasn’t very experienced? Just a few bumbled attempts with a boy she’d met then watched die before her eyes? That had been years ago. Now she was only threatened with rape, just one of the many mind-fucks the Blanes utilized.
“There are…pieces of me that aren’t…so pretty.” She finally managed to force the words out past a throat tight with shame. And wasn’t that the ultimate punishment, that she would feel ashamed of the marks they’d left on her.
“We all have scars. They don’t make us any less than who we are.”
She nodded her head. “No questions, Reno. Promise me. No matter what you see. No questions.” She didn’t want to get into any of the hows and whys with him. Not here. Not now.
Slowly, he nodded his head. “No questions. Just me worshipping your gorgeous body.”
“Then, yes. Take me.” Make her feel alive, for once in her life, make her feel like a woman worthy of having.

Have you ever considered?
I'm a reader, a huge reader. I devour books and prefer them over television and movies. I doubt that will ever change. If I'm watching at home, I always have a book in my hand so I can read through the more boring parts of the show. I'm that type of reader, lol. I have my favorites, authors I stalk, waiting for their next book. And... I have moments where I think how awesome it would be if they did a story in the series with a particular storyline. Like this or that or, OMG! how about if this happened. I want to write them, just a short message to suggest my idea in case they haven't thought of it yet. What could it hurt? Right?
Wrong! The best way to kill a storyline is to write to an author and suggest it. It's not because authors are arrogant or rude or inconsiderate or any other negative reason. IT'S A LEGAL ISSUE! No, we're not accusing anyone of having ulterior motives. Most readers are just that, readers who are so fixated on the book, series, story, that they would never even consider slamming an author for using what they consider "their idea". Unfortunately, we've either encountered a reader who suggested something, maybe a storyline we'd already planned, and went screaming mad when the book came out if they weren't given credit. Some have even sued. Yes. Sued. It's behavior like that that makes authors immediately hit the delete button when they see a story idea in an email or message. It's nothing personal. It's business and a way to protect our careers.
Something else to note is that a lot of authors don't just come up with book one in a series. We develop the whole series, or at least the first few books in the series. Even if they aren't written or out yet, we usually know exactly where we're going, who is next, and what the storyline is going to be. The problem with making suggestions, no matter how innocent, is that if we do unwittingly get a glimpse of your suggestion before we realize what we're reading, then we're left with the decision of whether or not we now have to scrap the whole book idea and start fresh. It's very frustrating.
I know your heart is in the right place. I know most of you are so invested in the characters/series/story that you just want to help. I've been there. I've sent that email saying how cool it would be if the heroine was this. I never thought anything of it, and I sure wouldn't have cared if I was mentioned in the dedication or not. I just wanted to read that spin. However, bad apples have ruined this for all of us. Authors now have to guard themselves from potential law suits and threats they might not have considered before. It's a crazy world, and a few bad apples have most definitely made it crazier.
I wanted to share this with you so you'd understand why I send a polite thank you when ideas are suggested and tell you I deleted your email/message. That doesn't mean I'm upset with you, or don't appreciate you, or anything along those lines. I love all my readers. YOU are the reason I get to do what I love...write!
Huge hugs and lots of love to all of you! Thank you for loving our worlds as much as we love creating them. Readers really do rock!

Waking up with Amnesia
That's how it all starts for Chase Riley in Beautiful Dreamer. A play on the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty, Beautiful Dreamer begins with Chase in the hospital in a what doctors refer to as a self-induced coma. Her body needs to heal from the violent attack she suffered. Waiting in the wings is her ex-boyfriend, Police Detective Phillip Wade. Chase is the woman he loves, and despite the break-up, he'll do his all to protect her.
Hope you enjoy Beautiful Dreamer! (**Author's Note** This book is loosely connected to the Knight's Watch series. It tells the back story of Seth, who was introduced in Jagged Hearts. It was also previously published in the Anthology Seduction at Midnight which is no longer available.)

Plotting the Pride
By now many of you have read The Liger's Mark and see that there is another series spinning off from this one. Awakening Pride and The Holloways are two different series that will run simultaneously. There might be the occasional crossover between the two.
So where did the Holloway brothers and their story come from? Like Jess and her alpha wolf mates in Waking the Beast, the Holloway brothers were created in The Liger's Mark as friends of Gabriel. They grew in my mind until I knew they had to have a series just for them.
What's different? A lot, actually. These bear shifters are not the same as either the wolves or the cat pride. They were all but wiped out by hunters. In fact, Laramie and his brothers believe all the females were killed out. This is an important bit of information to know about the bear shifters. Females play a huge role in the continuation of their species. It will all be explained in the first book, His to Bear.
Which brings up more questions readers have sent me. Why Holt? Is he leaving the pride to join the Holloways? This may cause some upset, but yes, he is leaving the pride and joining the bears. For those who have read the series you are aware that he and Kenzie were once lovers who have turned into best friends. He's always been there for her. In The Liger's Mark, Kenzie and her mate, Gabriel, are finally together. Think about that. Picture it. Got it? Now does it make sense that Holt would volunteer to head to the Holloways to offer assistance?
I'm not saying that he won't ever go back to the pride, but he won't be the same and neither will his relationship. It will grow and evolve like they all do. Kenzie is mated and soon, Holt will be, too. Will they still have the rock solid friendship? Absolutely!
I promise most of these questions will be answered more fully in the first book. Holt's reasoning, Kenzie's understanding and appreciation, and the role the bears will play in the grand scheme of the battle with the hunters.
What about Jess and her wolves? I am planning a novel devoted solely to their story. I'd like to take you back to how they all met and began this crazy relationship they're in. It will give you a bigger picture of what they're dealing with, not just with the hunters but within the wolf shifter community as a whole. As to whether or not they will spin into yet another series, I can't say yet. It will depend on the story and how it all unfolds. I do plan to have them back in a few upcoming pride stories. Jess needs to see her father again, or should I say the Professor needs to see her.
Most importantly, I have a lot coming up with these characters. I have no plans to end the Awakening Pride series any time soon. I'd like to think I'll still be adding to it years from now. I love this group and want to see them grow and flourish. I have a feeling the Holloways are just the first series to spring from my Pride books.
I'll be answering more reader questions on the blog from now on. I think it's likely that if one or more readers send me the question then chances are other readers have it, as well. Please feel free to send any questions to me at lcy_thrn1@yahoo.com and not only will I reply, but chances are I'll answer it here as well.
Thank you so much for loving my Awakening Pride series. I can't explain how it feels to know that so many of you love these characters as much as I do! I'm hopeful you'll take the Holloway men and their growing pack into your hearts, as well!
Thanks so much for all your love and support!
