Eva’s Byte #370 – How Do You Like It?
Your coffee. That is, if you’re a coffee drinker.
I’m a year-round iced coffee drinker, downing one a day. For the fun of it, I profiled my preference. Lo and behold there’s a lot of coffee profiling going on.
According to one source, it takes boldness and assertiveness to quaff iced coffee on a frigid day in the middle of winter. That may be, but I’m usually sipping a vanilla or mocha iced coffee while seated at my desk, working.
Another source cites that people who favor iced coffee tend to be introverted. True. However, it’s highly doubtful I travel more than people who prefer hot coffee, one of the other claims.
Yet another source points out how water and air zodiac signs are more partial to iced coffee. Well, Aries, my sign, is a fire sign.
Obviously, one must take any of this preference profiling with a ground of coffee.
In my capacity of a writer, I’m gaining ground advancing to the end of Chapter 13 of my Contemporary WIP (1487 words thus far). My female, adolescent protagonist who is sitting on a porch in the cold, could certainly use a cup of hot coffee to warm up. But, that’s neither here nor there in the story.
*Whether you prefer coffee or tea, may the brew boost your energy and creativity.
My sincere appreciation if you’ve read this far.

Eva’s Byte #538 – The Spill
Not the first. Probably the third. Not the last, I fear:
My fully loaded 20-oz. lidded coffee tumbler took a tumble off of a makeshift stand (an inverted 1.8-gallon waste basket) near my office desk.
On the Richter scale of spills, I’d rate it a 6 as opposed to a 10. This time the plush scatter rug under my feet absorbed most of the liquid. This time, my replacement fabric storage bin to the right of my desk, was unaffected.
However, coffee had also soaked into a small area of the carpet.
“Out, damned spot!” (Lady MacBeth)
Easier said than done, other than tossing the scatter rug.
The saturated area required frequent rounds of blotting with paper towel. This madness was followed by serial shampooing and more blotting until the residue came up clear. Over the course of two days, the beige carpet was restored to its former glory.
In the capacity of a writer, I’m fully absorbed in drafting chapter 21 (1109 words thus far) of my Contemporary work in progress.
*May patience and perseverance see each of us through perilous times.
My sincere appreciation to you for reading this far.
