Expert Witness Water And Effluent Treatment Plant Problems
I've got a lot on the books at the moment, all expert witness type work. Two industrial effluent anaerobic digesters, two drinking water treatment plants, and an assortment of other stuff.
I've also got a few writing jobs. Good to be busy....

Commissioning Training
I've been preparing my updated commissioning training course this week, tweaked to accommodate feedback for the last delivery, and the different sector of the new client. It's looking good.
I've given the course many times face to face, but I think the online version is now better than the original. It does however mean that I don't get to go to so many interesting places....

Back to Work!
After a little slack period, we picked up two expert witness jobs and a training engagement this week, so I'll be pretty busy for the rest of the financial year.
The training job is for the online version of my longstanding commissioning course, which I piloted earlier in the year. I have high hopes for this. Every teacher/trainer knows hat it's always better second time out, when you have had feedback from learners....
Both expert witness jobs are technically interesting, and the lawyers involved are acting properly. We had a job recently where this was not the case. Not people we would want to work for again.
I've actually turned down a couple of jobs in recent weeks from potential clients I could tell weren't a good match. There's no point in being your own boss if you can't say no to people occasionally....

Another relatively easy week
Still no new signed contracts, though a couple of prospective clients asked us to start work without formal paperwork. Never a good idea, so another light week, and a bit more done on the dictionary.
Expect the lull will be over next week. Still enjoying it while it lasts....

An Easy Week...
I wrapped up an advisory expert report early in the week, and took the opportunity to work on the dictionary. It's been a nice change of pace.
I've got two solid enquiries for real engineering work, and I'm awaiting instructions on a number of expert witness jobs, so it will pick up again soon enough. I'll enjoy it while it lasts....

And Breathe...
Work has dropped back to a steady pace, though there is a lot of new work with a high probability of coming in in the near future. Much of it is expert witness work, and much of that overseas. Not that I'll be allowed to go overseas for a while....
I've taken the opportunity to have a week at a steady pace, catching up on all the little things which fall through the cracks when you work seven days a week for an extended period.
If this keeps up, I might even get a chance to work on the dictionary. I'm almost looking forward to it!

Expert Witness Water Engineering Treatment Plant Design Commissioning Testing
I'm continuing to be busy with expert witness work, both UK and overseas, and there are a lot of new enquiries coming in for more expert witness work, as well as some real engineering. I'm not sure why, but the pandemic and Brexit don't seem to be affecting sales negatively at all.

Commissioning Training And Expert Witness Work
I'm delivering a commissioning training course in the first few days of next week, and spending the weekend completing a report on a commissioning process. Hopefully this will be the last weekend I have to work for a while. There have been quite a few of them recently.
There's another few expert witness jobs lined up, all to do with water one way or another, and I'm talking to another potential client for the commissioning course, which has taken a lot of rewriting and reconfiguring to make it into an online only version. Its a well established course, and I think the new version is quite possibly better than the old F2F version. We'll see how the feedback goes next week...

The End of a Strange Year
I've picked up a bit of training for the start of the new year, and I put out a report today, my last working day of the year. I've been pretty busy this year, despite the pandemic. I suppose that's the advantage of being in an essential industry.

International Expert Witness Water Engineer
I spent most of the week in Israel, looking at water problems with a pumped storage power station. It's an interesting case. Israel wasn't too interesting though, as the pandemic restrictions meant that I only got to go to the apartment, the site and back to the airport!
Quite a few other jobs ready to come in, and existing jobs ready to come back with questions. What's the betting that they all come in at 5PM next Friday, when I'm planning to take a week off for Xmas?
