Juan Meme: What Is the Horse on Balcony Meme?
Popular memes have an uncanny ability to cross cultures and spread like wildfire on the Internet.
Still, some popular memes can sometimes seem beyond comprehension. It’s hard, for example, to look at a photo of a horse on a balcony with a text that reads “Juan” and immediately understand what it indicates.
For that reason, we’ll take a look at what the Juan meme means and how it came to be. We’ll also show you how to use it, so stick around!
What Does Juan Meme Mean? The Juan meme, also known as the Horse on Balcony meme, consists of a zoomed-in low-quality image of a horse standing on a balcony and bottom text that reads “Juan.”
It usually takes on a different meaning depending on the meme format in which it’s used. On Reddit, the Juan meme is about a god-like horse that’s all-seeing and all-knowing.
This meaning most likely originates from a Spanish Fandom Wiki page that describes Juan the horse as a powerful, crime-solving racehorse that keeps an eye on Mamarre City from the balcony.
Some people, on the other hand, speculate that what makes Juan popular and funny is its similarity to the Man Horse meme and the Spanish Horse Luis meme
That said, the Juan meme is in the same league as non-sequitur, cursed image memes that go viral for their absurdist sense of humor.
How Did Juan Meme Emerge? Before the Juan meme became popular in 2020, the image of the horse itself has been circulating on the internet since at least 2015.
The Polish Horse on BalconyBefore the original image of the Juan meme was posted to the internet, there was another horse in Poland raising all sorts of questions a year prior.
In 2014, Mirror published an article about a man who was protecting his horse from getting stolen by keeping it on the balcony.
Soon after, the scene drew the attention of onlookers, and photos of the horse on the balcony began circulating the internet—and we, internet users, know how meme-material a photo like that can be.
Original Image and Its MemeficationA year later, the original, uncropped image of the horse on the balcony was first posted to Imgur in November 2015 with the caption, “Only in Malta.”
It immediately grabbed the attention of Tumblr users and was used with bottom texts like, “I’m not like other girls.”
For several years, the unedited image had resurfaced from time to time, appearing in photoshops and numerous image macros.
The First Juan MemeIt wasn’t until June 11 of 2020 that the image became a viral meme when Instagram user graphic.design.is.mypassion posted the now-iconic Juan meme.
The Instagram post ended up receiving over 2,000 likes in less than a year, and many internet users started sharing it across many social media platforms.
Some internet users speculate that the account was having a go at the “What Animal You Are” trend but in the form of a more absurd, cursed-image meme.
How to Use ItThe Juan meme is often used in a similar manner to its absurd, cursed-image trademark.
You can create your Juan meme using the image as the fourth panel in a four-panel format meme, such as this post on Reddit that received over 18,000 upvotes.
You can also make a self-aware meme that references how odd Millennial and Gen-Z humor can be, like this meme on Reddit.
Some internet users have even taken to combining the Juan meme with other images of horses standing in unusual places, such as in this video with over 47,000 views.

As a working mom, you have to juggle between work and raising your infant. Fortunately, you can now pump and store your breast milk to ensure that your baby has enough milk to feed on while you are away for work or other important chores.
But how long can breast milk stay out after warming? This article offers you some useful tips on how to store your breast milk to prolong its shelf life.
How Long Can Breast Milk Stay Out After Warming? To be on the safe side, you should start counting the 24 hours when your frozen breast milk is completely liquefied, not from the time you remove it from the freezer. Once you bring your breast milk to room temperature or warm it, it must be used within two hours.
If there is any leftover milk after feeding your baby, throw it away within two hours. You can’t refreeze your breastmilk after it thawing it.
The main reason why you should use your thawed breast milk as soon as possible is that bacteria start to grow more rapidly when the milk is warmed. Therefore, the longer it stays unused, the more dangerous it becomes to your baby. Also, when you are thawing your frozen breast milk, be sure to thaw the oldest one first.
Several factors determine how long breast milk can be stored, including the milk volume, temperature fluctuations in the fridge or freezer, room temperature when the milk is expressed, and sanitation of the storage area.
Also, you have to follow specific storage and preparation practices to maintain the quality of your expressed breast milk and for the sake of your baby’s health. There are different procedures for storing breast milk at different temperatures.
Also, you don’t have to warm your breast milk when feeding your baby. You can simply serve it at room temperature. But if you want to warm it, there are some important steps you have to follow. For instance, you have to keep the container completely sealed. You shouldn’t warm your breast milk directly on the cooker or in the microwave.
Instead, you should place the sealed container with breast milk into a bowl of warm water or just hold it under warm running water for two or three minutes.
While you warm your breast milk, keep testing its temperature to ensure that it doesn’t become too hot for your infant. Just put a few drops on your wrist to check its temperature. You should also swirl your warm breast milk thoroughly to synthesize the fat that may have separated.
Can I Put the Milk Back in the Fridge After Warming? As mentioned above, you can’t refreeze your breast milk after thawing it. Also, you can’t put it in the fridge after warming it. However, if you want to reuse the bottle within the two-hour deadline, you can put it in the fridge, rewarm it, or just keep it at room temperature.
Refrigeration helps to slow down bacteria growth, but you should not exceed the two-hour limit for the safety of your baby.
It’s also important to note that “complete thawing” means that the milk doesn’t have any ice crystals. So, if still there are some ice crystals in your breast milk, CDC considers it safe to put it back in the freezer. But fully thawed breast milk should never be refrozen. It’s also important to add that the room temperature determined how quickly your breast milk becomes unsafe for your baby.
Can You Reheat Breast Milk More Than Once? The simple answer is yes. You can reheat your breast milk, but only once. Studies have shown that it is unsafe to reheat breast milk that has been partially consumed more than once, since reheating it would extinguish the good bacteria and nutrients found in breast milk.
Also, you should make sure that the reheated breast milk is used within four hours since it will have bacteria from the baby’s mouth.
So, if your reheated breast milk remains unused for more than four hours, it should be discarded immediately. As mentioned above, reheating breast milk depends on several factors, including the way you store it and how long it stays out of the freezer.
When You Shouldn’t Reheat Your Breast MilkWhile it is okay to reheat your breast milk, there are instances when you shouldn’t. For example, you shouldn’t reheat your breast milk when if it has been sitting outside for over half an hour or if it was partially consumed by your baby. Bad bacteria from the baby’s mouth may have already contaminated it, making it dangerous to consume.
If your breast milk is already ruined from improper storage or after leaving it outside for so long, don’t reheat or give it to your baby. The easiest way to know if breast milk has gone bad is through odor. Since breast milk loses its immunologic properties when it is reheated, you shouldn’t reheat yours repeatedly, especially if your baby is sick.
Instead, you should feed your baby with a fresh bottle of breast milk from the fridge. Make sure the fresh bottle of breast milk is properly heated before feeding your baby. Don’t reheat breast milk that had been previously frozen, because thawed breast milk only has very little amount of living immune cells, which prevents contamination.
Tips on How to Store Breast MilkStoring, freezing, and feeding breast milk is quite easy if you follow the right procedures. Make sure you follow these simple rules and ensure you are doing it safely.
How to Store Fresh Breast Milk[image error]
Always follow the 4-4-6 Rule when storing your freshly expressed breast milk.
Good for 4 hours at room temperature (77° F or colder)Good for 4 days in the fridge (40° F or colder)Good for 6 months in the freezer (up to one year is acceptable)Store in small raises (1-3 oz) to avoid wastageStore in BPA free storage bags or bottlesPut a date on your milk storage container or bag indicating when it was expressed and the number of ouncesWhen freezing your breast milk, lay the storage bags flat to create a nice, thin bag of frozen breast milk that is easy to store in your freezerHow to Store Thawed or Previously Frozen Breast MilkFor this type of breast milk, follow the 2-1-0 Rule. Note that the times itemized are from the time the breast milk was completely thawed, not the time it was removed from the freezer.
Up to 2 hours at room temperature (77° F or colder)UP to 1 day (24 hours) in the refrigerator (40° F or colder)Zero time back in the freezer (never refreeze breast milk once you’ve thawed it fully)Does your baby refuse to take thawed breast milk? Does your thawed breast milk smell or taste soapy? If so, it could have excess lipase, which breaks down more rapidly at colder temperatures. In that case, you should try to scald your breast milk before freezing it to remove the excess lipase. You should also reach out to an International Board of Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) examiner to create a plan that works for you.
What If You Have Excess Breast Milk?If you’ve pumped too much breast milk at once and you don’t want to discard it, you should store it in a deep freezer. Breast milk can remain safe in a deep freezer for up to one year. If you do not have a deep freezer, you can donate it to a breast milk bank.
There are so many milk banks that have made it easy for women to donate stored breast milk. Alternatively, you can use excess breast milk to wash your baby. Breast milk is great for the baby’s skin.

Detailed List of Weather Symbols and Their Meanings
Do you always find the various symbols on your smartphone’s weather app or TV confusing? Would you like to update yourself with all the necessary information about different types of weather symbols, along with their meanings and illustrations? If so, this article provides you with a detailed list of weather symbols and their meanings.
What Are Weather Symbols?Weather symbols are the graphical representations of various atmospheric conditions commonly used in meteorological forecasts to show current and future weather conditions. Although these symbols are commonly used alongside a synoptic weather map, they can also be shown separately. Weather symbols are placed on the synoptic map along with the position of weather stations gathering information about the weather and details of different weather elements.
The location of each meteorological station is indicated by a small circle, while its weather report is plotted in and around the circle. Other important elements, such as temperature and pressure, are keyed in as plain figures. Others, like the amount of rain, snow, cloud, and fog, are represented as universally approved symbols.
For instance, cloud cover at a certain time is shown by filling in some parts of the circle. The larger the fill, the bigger the cloud cover, which is measured in eighths or oktas. Wind direction is characterized by an arrow showing where the wind is coming. The speed of the wind is shown by “feathers” on the wind arrow. A short feather indicates 5 knots, while a larger one shows 10 knots. You will also find a long and short feather that indicates 15 knots.
Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius to the nearest whole degree. At every station, pressure is standardized to sea-level pressure, which is often measured in millibars. Since the pressure is almost always between 950 and 1050 millibars, sometimes the hundreds figure for the pressure is left out with the assumption that it is understood. For instance, a pressure of 987.8 millibars can be shown as 878, while that of 1014.3 millibars can be written as 143.
Different Weather Symbols and Their Meanings1. Cloud Cover[image error]
Clouds are classified into different categories, based on their appearance and the altitude at which they are located. Cloud cover is the percentage of sections of the sky which is covered by clouds, further a direct impact on the local weather. Cumulus clouds appear as semicircles, while cumulonimbus is a semicircle with a trapezium on top.
Altocumulus cloud appears as two semicircles hinged to each other, while the cirrus clouds are drawn as lines with curves. Altostratus is drawn in the form of an acute angle. So, the clouds in weather symbols look more or less the same as they appear in the atmosphere.
Cloud cover is presented in the form of a circle that can be divided into equal portions. Some of these parts may be colored, depending on the amount of the cloud cover. If the sky is fully covered, it is presented as a clack circle, while specifically darkened quadrants show the sky cover in the form of segments, such as two-tenths, five-tenths, six-tenths, and so on. A no-clouds symbol is shown as a completely colorless or white circle. Sometimes, both the sky cover and cloud type symbols are shown together to offer more data from the studied areas.
2. Weather Fronts[image error]
Also referred to as front-line borders, weather fronts show the line of separation between hot and cold air masses present in either high or low-pressure regions. Letter ‘H’ in blue signifies a high-pressure area, while the letter ‘L’ in red represents a low-pressure area. A high-pressure area is caused by atmospheric air under increasing pressure which drops towards the land surface, while a low-pressure area is characterized by reducing the pressure of air that goes upwards.
A cold front is characterized by a blue-colored curved line with triangular points, which show the direction of the wind. On the other hand, a warm front is characterized by curved red-colored lines with rounded or semi-circular points that lean towards the direction of the wind. When the two lines meet in particular areas, they create static front – boundaries that don’t indicate much movement and are characterized by interchanging points of the two front types.
These boundaries can move forward or backward every day, with each point showing more or less similar strength. When a cold front overpowers a hot one, it is characterized by a purple line, with both curved and triangular points leaning in the same direction. This helps you to understand the approach of a storm.
3. Rain[image error]

Rain symbols are very common on many modern gadgets. Two dots that are close to each other show average rainfall, while four dots show heavy rainfall. Extremely heavy showers and snowfall are characterized by triangular lines.
Fog or mist is characterized by three to four straight horizontal lines. Most triangular symbols signify violent rain, and if they are accompanied by other extensions, they show showers with snow and hail, or rain with snow occurrence. These signs vary in appearance and positioning, based on the setup in which they are observed.
The most conventional triangular symbols are readily available on most of the latest devices. Ins some cases, the four dots indicating heavy rainfall might be located close to each other, or even in a closed-loop format. Another notable characteristic of triangular symbols is that they can be combined with several other common symbols that represent weather.
For instance, if the fog symbol of three horizontal parallel lines is shown in front of the sun weather symbol, it can be interpreted to mean partially foggy or fog with mild sunlight. If sun and rain droplets are presented together, it means that rain is accompanied by low-intensity sunlight.
4. Wind Speed and Direction[image error]

Wind speed and direction signs are the simplest weather symbols, especially since they are represented as lines drawn with long or short extensions known as barbs. The least powerful ones are characterized by a circular symbol and may have a speed of between 0 – 5 knots.
A short extension indicates the presence of an additional velocity of 5 knots, while a long extension shows an additional velocity of 10 knots. A triangular barb shows a speed of 50 knots.
If the end of the line is open, it shows the direction towards which the currents are flowing. A knot is a measuring unit of wind current speed, and 1 knot represents about 1.15 miles per hour. Barbs are always drawn progressively, with the ones that have the highest value appearing near the end. The ones with the lowest value appear on the middle part of the line.
If a line comes from the south straight upwards, it shows that the wind is flowing in the northern direction. If this wind current is indicated with two short and long extensions each, accompanied by a triangular point, it means that the wind is blowing at a speed of 80 knots. And if two lines are present, it shows two separate currents are passing through an area with different intensities.
5. Sunny Conditions[image error]
A sunny symbol is the most familiar of all the weather signs. It indicates sunny conditions and clear skies. This symbol is also pretty straightforward and hardly used in any other way than to show exactly these weather conditions.
6. Thunderstorm[image error]
This symbol depicts thunderstorms with strong winds, lightning, and heavy rain. It is one of the weather symbols that you should never ignore, mainly because of the dangerous weather conditions that go with this weather event.
7. Hail Storm[image error]
This symbol shows a hail (frozen water) storm. Hail is often associated with thunderstorms because of the similar weather conditions that generate both.
8. Light Snow Shower[image error]
This symbol means that a light shower of snow (a bunch of ice rocks) is likely to fall. This symbol should bother you so much, especially if you live in an area familiar with regular snowfall.
But if it happens in an area that rarely experiences snowfall, you should be concerned, especially because the weather event could be accompanied by serious conditions such as a drastic drop in temperature and slippery roads.
9. Heavy Snow Shower[image error]
This symbol indicates that a heavy shower of snow is about to fall. Since this weather event is normally accompanied by potentially dangerous conditions, you should take care.
10. Mist[image error]
Mist is just a high concentration of micro water droplets in the air near the ground’s surface. The mist symbol indicates damp weather conditions with adjustable degrees of low visibility. You should take care, especially if you are driving.
11. Drizzle[image error]
The drizzle symbol means that a very fine form of rain is about to occur. Although the water droplets are almost unnoticeable, you shouldn’t ignore this sign because a drizzle can be very persistent, leaving you thoroughly drenched over time.
12. Sleet[image error]
This weather symbol usually indicates a combination of rain and snow and even small ice pellets.
13. Tropical Storm[image error]
This weather symbol predicts a tropical storm and is not often used in a weather forecast. But when you see it, you should pay serious attention because a tropical storm is destructive enough on its own. Also, a tropical storm can turn into a hurricane very quickly. It’s needless to emphasize how powerful and damaging a hurricane can be.

A Guide to the Nutritional Value and Calories in Gyro Meat
When it comes to street food, few things can top gyros, one of the most famous dishes of Greek cuisine. However, street food isn’t the first thing that comes to mind when trying to find food high in nutrients. So, let’s break down the nutritional benefits and calories in gyro meat.
Gyros Origins and IngredientsGyros (sometimes also called gyro) is a tasty Greek dish that you can find in many places around the world. It is a meat-based dish cooked on a vertical rotisserie, most often made with pork, although chicken variants also exist.
Gyros originated in Greece as a variation of the doner kebab, and it was brought there by the exiled Greek population of the Ottoman Empire. The name “gyros” means “circle” or “turn.” It is a translation of the word “döner,” which has the same meaning in Turkish.
Outside of Greece, gyros is also often made from beef, lamb, or mixed meat. In the U.S., it tends to be made mainly with lamb meat. Most restaurants usually serve it in pita bread with tzatziki, onions, french fries, and sliced tomatoes.
However, there are also many regional variations. For example, in northern Greece, people use ketchup and mustard instead of tzatziki, while the Cypriots tend to omit tzatziki in favor of more vegetables.
Nutritional Contents of GyrosGyros is a meat dish, which means it is high in protein. In gyro meat, you can find plenty of valuable minerals and vitamins necessary for your body to work properly and stay healthy. On the other hand, it is also high in fat and cholesterol, which are generally detrimental to your body.
However, the high-fat percentage can be more suitable for those who are on a special diet, such as keto. In addition, gyro meat doesn’t have any carbohydrates, which is perfect for the keto diet and won’t make you feel bloated.
Calories in Gyro Meat[image error]
Now, let’s get into the nitty-gritty of calories. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture, a gyro dish tends to have around 3.5 ounces of lamb meat, which is about 217 calories and 0.9oz of protein.
However, a gyro sandwich isn’t always necessarily made with lamb; often, it is made with pork or chicken. In that case, the nutritional values will obviously differ.
The same amount of pork has around 136 calories and 0.8oz of protein. As you can see, pork has an overall lower nutritional value than lamb. Chicken, on the other hand, is number one when it comes to protein with 1oz per serving. However, it packs less energy than lamb but about the same as pork: 136 calories per serving,
Still, eating a gyros dish is not just about meat. If we factor in the pita bread (about 2.7oz) and french fries (about one cup), that’s another 367 calories. To put it another way, there aren’t that many calories in gyro meat itself. It’s actually everything else that goes into a gyro sandwich that raises the calorie count.
According to the University of Illinois Extension, the average gyro sandwich contains about 445 calories, 1.2 ounces of carbohydrates, and 1.5 ounces of protein. It also contains 100mg (0.003oz) of cholesterol and 0.5oz of fat. That means you should not eat gyros every day unless you’re burning all of that energy you consume.
On the other hand, gyros is a great meal for anyone that leads a more active lifestyle, especially if you’re on an alternative diet like keto. Gyro meat can be a healthy and delicious addition to a keto diet due to its good fat and protein content.
Unfortunately, if you are strictly observing the rules of keto, you will have to ditch the pita bread and french fries.
