A Merry Montgomery Christmas Excerpt
Carter smiled at Emery. “I know we got off to a bumpy start for this trip, but I’ve still got some surprises up my sleeve.”
She laughed softly, crossing her arms, and leaned back in her seat. “I’ve already seen the boxes of Pop Tarts and potato chips.”
That made him chuckle. “I wasn’t talking about that—although I did keep to my word on them.”
She shrugged and he knew she was unimpressed.
“Tomorrow, a shipment of food is going to arrive at the house. A large shipment along with some kitchen essentials that I knew the rental wouldn’t have.”
Another shrug. “We already knew you were going to cook, and we all know that you’re a control freak in the kitchen. This is hardly news, Carter.”
Now he leaned back in his seat and took a sip of wine. He knew food didn’t always impress his wife. They’d been together long enough that it normally turned into a playful argument over who had better taste. However, he also knew all her weaknesses—the foods that she loved more than anything else and the foods that came with some of the best memories. He’d spent the last twenty-four hours preparing a menu for the next week that would hopefully do some damage control.
But he was saving his biggest surprise for New Year’s Eve. He considered giving it as a Christmas gift, but this was the sort of thing that had to be handled delicately.
Plus, he really couldn’t wrap it up and put a bow on it, so…
“Fine. I guess you’ll just have to wait and see,” he said with just a hint of smugness.
She shrugged one more time. “I guess I will.”
“Although…there is one thing that I really can’t wait to share.”
“Oh?”
Carter leaned across the table and crooked his finger to bring Emery closer. When her face was practically next to his, he whispered in her ear, “I did make reservations for us tonight. But not at the B&B, but at that big hotel and spa up the road. We just have tonight and I promised everyone we’d be back at the house for lunch tomorrow, so…” Then he gently nipped the shell of her ear. “And I plan on spending every minute we have there showing you how much I missed you.”
He heard her the slight catch in her breath before she moaned softly. “Carter…”
“I’d say we should just skip dinner, but I think we’re going to need it to fuel up. But once the entrée is done, we’re out of here.”
When he slowly pulled away and sat back down, he gave her a very satisfied grin. Watching her squirm for the next hour or so would be satisfying and yet pure torture. The only reason he’d agreed to this dinner was so they could talk things out and truly enjoy their night.
And so far, it seemed to be working.
Their appetizers came out—along with the matching ones for the rest of the family—and they all nodded with approval before digging in.
He made Emery a plate with a little of everything on it before doing the same for himself, and after tasting the oysters, he knew they made the right choice.
Even if he was still wildly curious about the octopus…
“Excellent choice with the restaurant, Em,” he said.
“I know you enjoy dining at places that are a little different, and after doing a little research, I thought this one would really speak to you. Did you see anything that you’d want to incorporate at any of your restaurants?”
“Nuh-uh-uh…no more business talk tonight. I already told you that Max is home and doing well and that all the kitchens are covered. Everyone knows not to call me until after January first, so…all I want to talk about over dinner is how you and the boys are and what you’ve been doing since you got here.”
Emery took a sip of wine and nodded. “And after dinner?”
“Hmm?”
“You said that’s what you wanted to talk about over dinner. What happens when dinner’s over?”
His grin was slow and sexy and downright wolfish.
And she loved it.
“Once we’re alone behind closed doors in our suite? The only thing I’m going to want to talk about is how good I’m making you feel.”
As much as she sometimes hated his arrogance, this time it excited her. “Mighty confident in your skills, aren’t you?”
“I know how to please my wife,” he replied.
“Um…TMI, Carter,” his brother said from beside him. “TMI. Maybe use your quieter inside voice when you want to talk about pleasing…you know…”
Carter laughed loudly before turning and clapping Christian on the shoulder. “When did you turn into such a prude? Or are you just jealous that we get to have a night away from the family circus?”
“A lot you know—Sophie and I made reservations for a night away too.”
Carter’s jaw practically fell on the floor. “You…I mean…how did you…um…”
Both Christian and Sophie cracked up laughing before Christian put him out of his misery. “Dude, I’m only joking. We’re perfectly happy going back to the house and really, the two of you deserve a night with no distractions. It’s bad enough you’re sitting here with us. We’ve got another ten days of family togetherness. Take your time tonight and enjoy it.”
Carter picked up his glass and grinned. “Believe me, we’re going to.”

Loving You Excerpt
“Come on,” Jade said softly, taking his hand in hers. “Let’s go upstairs and…”
Inspiration hit.
Levi stopped in his tracks and hid a smile as she came to a halt and glanced over her shoulder at him. “Um…”
“I thought that we’d go to the kitchen first,” he said silkily, gently pulling her back to him. “And then I’m going to make a couple of sandwiches for us while you sit and relax. We’ve got all night. Why not start out with dinner and then see where things can go from there?”
Those beautiful eyes went a little wide. “You…you want to make dinner for me?”
Nodding, he leaned in, resting his forehead on hers. “It’s just grilled cheese, but I promise to do better tomorrow night.”
Her eyes went even wider. “You want to make dinner for me tomorrow night too?”
Another nod. Reaching up, he cupped her face. “I do. And then maybe one night we can go out somewhere.” He paused. “You know, if you want to. If you’d rather have some time to yourself…”
This time, she was the one who wouldn’t let him finish. Jade leaned in and silenced him with a kiss that verged on dirty and he was having serious second thoughts about having sandwiches right now. But when she pulled back and gave him a sexy smile and led him toward the kitchen, he figured he’d done something good here.
Something right.
Who knew that making dinner would be such a turn on?
In the kitchen, Jade started to pull out ingredients, but he simply led her over to one of the chairs and told her to sit. “Do you want something to drink?”
“Actually, I have a bottle of wine that I bought just for tonight.” Pausing, she laughed softly. “I mean, I bought it for myself and wasn’t going to drink it all tonight, but figured I’d treat myself to a glass of wine with dinner while Silas was gone.”
And before he could let her think on that too hard, he spotted the bottle and handed it to her. “You handle the wine and I’ll handle the food. Deal?”
“Deal,” she replied as they worked in silence for a few minutes. “So, how’d you enjoy working as a barista today?”
“I seriously want to go back and over-tip every barista I’ve ever met. I had no idea how challenging coffee could be.”
“You get used to it. I didn’t want to have some extensive drink menu like Starbucks, but I also needed to offer more than just a basic cup of coffee. I had trained Erica, Curtis, Billie, and my mom on all of it, but I was essentially learning along with them.”
“I know Billie was getting extremely frustrated with me, but…” He shrugged. “I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.”
“You really don’t have to. I appreciate you helping today, but…really, Levi, no one expects you to keep doing it.”
He glanced over at her and wanted to be a little offended, but she looked so relaxed sitting at the kitchen table that he simply shrugged again. “I’ll be there until you find someone to replace Erica. You shouldn’t have to work twelve-hour days. You have two weeks to simply be yourself with a few less responsibilities. Why spend them all at the shop?”
Nodding, she took a sip of her wine. “Because it’s my shop. I’m the boss and the owner, and it’s my responsibility.”
“But…?”
“But…I get what you’re saying. I’m just used to always being in…I don’t know…motion. When I found out I was pregnant with Silas, I knew I needed to work hard and save money so I could afford to stay home with him for those first six weeks and then afford to pay for childcare.” After another sip of wine, she continued. “I’m so thankful for my parents because we lived with them for the first six years of Silas’ life. I don’t know how I would have accomplished anything without them, but I’ve worked nonstop for most of my adult life. I don’t question it; I just do what needs to be done.”
“And that’s very commendable, but for this particular situation, you don’t have to be the one jumping in to work. I’m here to help.”
He assembled four sandwiches and put them on the griddle, waiting a few minutes before flipping them.
“But just out of curiosity, do you have any leads?” he asked, and loved hearing her husky laugh from behind him.
“A few. Curtis has a friend who’s coming in tomorrow for me to meet, and some of my mom’s friends want to volunteer too. I don’t know what hours they’re looking for, but any extra help will be wonderful.”
He flipped the sandwiches one more time before plating them. “I’m sure. I’d like to talk to you some more about a marketing idea I had. I thought…”
Jade held up her hand to stop him. “As much as I love how much you’re doing to help me with the business, right now, I’d love it so much more if we didn’t talk about…you know…business.”
It was almost comical how he had tried to do something romantic and was totally ruining it.
“You’re right, you’re right. Sorry.” Sitting beside her, he let out a long breath. “I promise I’ll be a much better date tomorrow.”
She blushed slightly before resting her hand over his. “You’re kind of a perfect date right now. Thank you for this.”
“It’s just grilled cheese.”
“I know, but it’s grilled cheese that I didn’t have to make.”
They ate in companionable silence for a minute and Levi thought about her comment. As a single mom, he figured all of the cooking was on her, but rather than focus on that, he decided to turn the conversation in a sexier direction.
“We could take them upstairs right now,” he suggested with a wink. “There was talk about that back at the shop.”
Her smile was slow and sweet and a little sexy, but rather than say anything, she simply stood with her plate in her hands.
Then she reached for her wine.
Levi did the same before following her up the stairs to her bedroom.

Kiss Me is LIVE!
Kiss Me is now live!
Saying "I Do" to her boss seemed like a harmless solution to a potentially harmful problem.
But the only problem now is that she wants the marriage to be real.
When Marissa Barrett finds herself in a dangerous situation with her family, she needs help. Fast. Normally the queen of problem solving, this is one instance where she just can't seem to find a solution on her own. All she wanted from her boss was help finding an attorney. But before she knows exactly how it's happened, they're standing in front of a justice of the peace.
Patrick Donovan would do anything to help Marissa. After all, she's been helping him run his business for years. He'd be lying if he said he wasn't wildly attracted to her, but there was no way he would ever act on it. Plus, with his meddling family looking to see him settle down, the last thing he needed was any kind of romantic relationship. But when Marissa turns to him for help, suddenly he sees a way to do it that benefits them both.
One year of marriage. That was the agreement.
But everything's negotiable, right?

Kiss Me Excerpt
There was the sound of something breaking coming from the other side of the door, but Marissa was a boneless, sated marshmallow who barely had the energy to raise an eyebrow.
“Your cat is kind of an asshole,” Patrick murmured sleepily. They were a sweaty tangle of limbs with her head on his shoulder, and as much as she wanted to be offended by his words, she just couldn’t.
“That doesn’t sound right.”
“Trust me. I had to clean up a lot of crap when I got home earlier. Clearly he’s letting his displeasure be known.”
“Patrick, come on,” she said, forcing herself to raise her head so she could look at him. “Mr. Meowgi is not destructive. He’s like a therapy cat, very mild-mannered.”
“I respectfully disagree,” he countered. “Shredded pillow, mangled blinds, and a broken coffee mug. Plus…whatever it is he just knocked over. I’m telling you, there’s a good chance no one broke into your place and the cat was just in a bad mood that day.”
That got her attention. “How can you even say that? You saw all the damage! One little cat could not do all of that and I can’t even believe you would imply that…”
He silenced her with a kiss. “I’m sorry,” he murmured a few moments later. “I was joking and it was in bad taste. Really, I’m sorry.”
“Fine.” She begrudgingly let him guide her back into his arms with her head on his shoulder. There was another sound of something crashing, and Marissa knew there was no way to truly argue this. “I’ll have a talk with him.”
Patrick’s chuckle was deep and rumbly and she couldn’t help but laugh with him. “Are you seriously going to try to reason with a cat?”
“He listens to me…”
“In that case, didn’t you mention to him how he should behave when he’s a guest in someone’s home?”
“He’s never been a guest anywhere, so…”
It was an absolutely ridiculous conversation, but it was easier to talk about her cat being a brat than discussing the fact that she was currently naked in bed with her boss.
Husband! He’s your husband!
Okay, technically, yes, Patrick Donovan was her husband. But that was supposed to only be on paper. Falling into bed with him wasn’t supposed to happen! And if it did, Marissa imagined it would take months for it to happen instead of days.
Ugh…why did I have to lose control today?
Unfortunately, she already knew the answer to that one—she was emotionally fragile and Patrick looked freaking sexy in a towel.
And dammit, I deserve this after not having sex for a damn year!
Essentially, Marissa knew she could justify what just happened in at least a dozen ways, but the fact still remained that this complicated everything.
They lay in companionable silence until Patrick spoke a few minutes later.
“Do you remember the day I asked you to marry me?”
“You mean five days ago? Um, yeah. Why?”
“You said that you could hear me thinking from across the room.”
“And…?”
“Now I know what you meant because I can totally hear you thinking. So why don’t you say what’s on your mind so we can talk about it?” His voice was soft and his hand was gently caressing her arm and honestly, she was almost too relaxed to have any conversation. Unfortunately, they were going to have to talk about this, and she just hated that she was going to have to be the one to broach the subject first.
“I think…” Pausing, she sighed. “I think this was a mistake.”
There. She’d said it.
“O-kay…”
Pushing slightly up and away from him, Marissa almost changed her mind and straddled him because if she thought he looked sexy in a towel, it was nothing compared to the rumpled, bed-head, post-sex look.
Ugh…
“What I mean is…this complicates things. Our situation was already a little awkward, but adding sex to the mix just…” She looked at him and realized his expression hadn’t changed one bit. “Please say something.”
For a moment, he didn’t. He simply watched her. Then he shifted and sat up, stacking the pillows behind him. “I get what you’re saying, but I’m not sure I agree,” he began slowly. “The truth is that I was attracted to you before last week and…I don’t know…to me, I feel like it was bound to happen.” He shrugged. “Now it has and we’re both adults, so…I don’t see what the big deal is.”
Marissa sat and blinked at him while his words sank in.
I was attracted to you before last week…
I was attracted to you before last week…
I was attracted to you before last week…
“Um…then why didn’t you ever say anything?” she asked. “If you were attracted to me, then I don’t see why…”
“Because you work for me,” he replied. “I didn’t want to do anything to jeopardize our working relationship, so I kept how I felt to myself.”
It made sense, but…
“We still have to work together, Patrick. That hasn’t changed. We swore nothing was going to change and less than a week into this arrangement and…and…we’re in bed together! You don’t think that counts as a change?”
Raking a hand through his already messy hair, he let out a frustrated sigh. “What is it you want me to say here? We can’t undo what we just did, and honestly, I don’t want to!” Kicking the blankets off, he stood and walked gloriously naked over to his dresser and pulled out a pair of sweatpants and threw them on.
When he faced her, she seriously hoped she wasn’t drooling.
“Let’s talk while we eat dinner, okay?” he suggested. “I’ll meet you in the kitchen so you can have some privacy.” And then he walked out and quietly closed the door behind him.
Dammit.

Charm Me Excerpt
“Mmm…Jamie…your alarm…”
Rolling over, he slapped the damn clock to get it to shut up.
He was thoroughly exhausted, but for all the best reasons, and as he rolled back over and pulled Fallon into his arms, he seriously considered calling in sick today. She was all warm and soft and sleepy and this was just the best way to wake up in the morning.
Glancing at the clock, he knew he had about an hour before he had to leave, but Asher would be getting up soon.
Then take advantage of this moment, he told himself.
Carefully, he rolled Fallon beneath him and began kissing his way down her curvy body. Honestly, he had no idea she had all these curves, and he was loving every second he got to explore them.
She hummed softly. “Mmm…not that I’m not loving this, but…shouldn’t you be getting up?”
Chuckling against the smooth skin of her belly, he said, “Believe me, I’m up.”
“Only you could make such an immature comment sound sexy.”
“Again, part of my charm,” he replied as he kissed his way lower.
All her movements were slow and languid and made her completely pliable under his touch.
“Asher’s going to be awake soon…”
“Then we better make this fast,” he said as he made his way back up her body and kissed her soundly.
And then it wasn’t quite as fast and frantic as he imagined, but it was infinitely better. The feel of her legs wrapping around him, the sound of her soft sighs…it made him want to savor every moment. They moved together as if they’d been making love for years instead of hours, and he swore sex had never felt like this.
Because there’s a connection there…
And there was—one that was growing stronger every day, and instead of freaking him out, he was really finding the appeal in it.
In her.
Fallon Murphy was becoming something vital to him, and he hoped he hadn’t screwed things up so much in the past that she couldn’t see a future with him.
Okay, take the sex goggles off, dude. A future? Really? Don’t you have enough on your plate?
Pushing those thoughts aside, he finished loving her and making sure she started her day knowing how amazing she was.
Breathlessly, Jamie rolled off of her and did his best to catch his breath just as they heard Asher fussing through the baby monitor.
“Wow…what timing, huh?” she teased before rolling off the bed and stretching.
She was gloriously naked and even though he’d just been enjoying every inch of her body, he watched with pure appreciation as she moved around and picked her nightie up off the floor and slid it on. Then she walked over and gave him a rather chaste kiss.
“Go and take your shower and I’ll take care of Asher.”
When she was out of the room, Jamie simply stayed where he was, staring up at the ceiling. His mind instantly went back to what he was thinking about minutes ago.
It wasn’t that he was looking at this situation through sex goggles—although the sex was so freaking good that he knew he’d be sporting a hard on all day—he was finally looking at his life a little more seriously.
Asher’s arrival on his doorstep did that.
It was finally time for him to grow up and stop goofing around, time to start thinking about his future. He had a son to consider, and if he were brutally honest, it had been a long time since meaningless hookups and no-strings-attached relationships were fulfilling. To the rest of the town he might be a shameless flirt, but what most of them never knew was that most of the time, things never went beyond that. He hadn’t really dated anyone in months.
Since Jenn.
And it wasn’t because there were any lingering feelings there—because there weren’t. It was more because it was the first time a breakup didn’t go the way he wanted. They didn’t part as friends and it wasn’t smooth and it left him feeling uneasy.
More with himself than anything else.
What would have happened if he had found out sooner that she was pregnant?
He’d like to think that other than knowing about Asher’s arrival, not much else would have changed. He never would have asked Jenn to marry him, but he supposed it would have been nice to have a little more advance notice about becoming a father.
The bedroom door opened and Fallon walked in with the baby. She’d put her robe on to cover her sexy attire and all he could think was how that was a damn shame.
“Is everything okay?” he asked, sitting up.
“Just making sure you didn’t fall back to sleep,” she said with a knowing smile. “I know neither of us got much sleep last night.”
“And it was well worth it.” Kicking the blankets off, he walked over and kissed the top of his son’s head before giving Fallon a kiss that was borderline dirty, and he groaned. “You have no idea how much I want to say screw it and stay home all day. You and I could take advantage of Asher’s naptime.”
“As tempting as that sounds, you know it’s not the right thing to do. Not on short notice. Maybe see about arranging for a day off another day so we can plan something and play another day.”
He pouted. “But I want to play now.”
She playfully patted his cheek. “Aww…poor baby.” And with a sassy wink, she walked out of the room.
With no other choice because she was right, he turned and went to take a shower.
It was going to be a long day.
