Always on My Mind Excerpt
Climbing from the car, she walked with a sense of purpose to the house. Once she stepped
inside, she spotted Ethan walking around, talking on his phone. He took one look at her and
seemed to know something was up.
“Listen, Mom, I need to go. I’ll talk to you soon,” he said before saying goodbye. He placed
his phone down on the kitchen island but didn’t make a move toward her. “Do you want to talk
about it?”
Parker shook her head and tossed her purse on the sofa on her way over to him. “I do not.”
He got that heated look in his eyes that she loved so much. His hair was a bit messy–as if
he’d been raking his hands through it–and even his glasses were a bit askew. And yet he still
turned her on.
When they were toe to toe, she reached up and gently pulled his glasses off, placing them on
the island next to his phone. Her hands skimmed his stubbled jaw before running them through
his hair.
“Something I can help you with?” he asked gruffly. He hadn’t touched her yet–not
physically–but the way he was watching her was almost as potent.
“As a matter of fact, you can,” she whispered.
“I’m all ears.”
The heat pouring off of him pulled her in until Parker simply wrapped herself around him. “I
want you to come upstairs with me and let me have my way with you.”
He arched one dark brow at her–probably because up until now they’d been spending their
nights in his room. Tonight, however, she needed things to be on her own turf, even if it was just
up the stairs.
“I’m all yours,” he whispered, and Parker stepped back and took him by the hand and led
him up to her room.
And then said a prayer of thanks that it was clean.
At her bed, she gently pushed Ethan down onto the mattress before crawling up and over
him. Together they got him undressed before Parker stripped herself down. Her hands wandered
of their own accord and she loved hearing his hiss of breath and feeling him jump when she did
something she knew he really enjoyed. There was power in this–power that she desperately
needed tonight. And as she touched and licked and kissed just about every inch of him, she
realized how much this man was coming to mean to her. He wasn’t just her roommate or her
lover; he was her friend and possibly the only real friend she had right now.
Ethan’s hand gripped her hair and gave a gentle tug, getting her attention. He was breathless
and there was a fine sheen of sweat on him and she’d never wanted him more. The look on his
face told her he was right on the edge with her and, as much as she would have loved to continue
to dominate for a little longer, she loved the way it felt when he took control.
In her mind, she still had the power.
She was simply letting him temporarily take the lead.
Leaning in close, she nibbled her way up his jaw. “Take me, Ethan. Take me now.”
And he did.

Dare Me Excerpt
“But…?”
“How do you know there’s a but?”
“Arianna, please. There’s always a but.”
“Fine. But…my previous concerns still stand. If things don’t work out, do we really want to be living in the same building?”
“What if they work out perfectly? Have you thought about that? Why are you so sure that it won’t?”
“Will…”
“Don’t you think it’s crazy how we met? We had the most perfect day ever and thought we’d never see each other again, but then ended up on the same flight!”
“I know, but…”
“And what were the odds that I’d know your brother or that I’d be making plans with him to go into business together?”
“Yeah, that was definitely a weird coincidence, but…”
“We meet hundreds of people in our live, Arianna. You’re the first one who the universe keeps putting in my path. That tells me that we can work.”
She whispered his name. “We’re doing it again.”
“Doing what?”
“The deep dive.”
“Maybe there’s a reason for that.”
Her only response was a yawn.
A loud one.
She made a sleepy sound then, and he took the hint.
“You sound tired, so I’ll let you go,” he said softly.
“Kind of hating this couch after sleeping with you the last two nights.”
“Even on the bouncy mattress?” he teased.
“Didn’t matter. I just enjoyed sleeping curled up with you.”
“Me too, beautiful girl.” He paused and wanted to tell her he’d come and get her and she could stay with him tonight, but he had an early morning with Liam. “Get some sleep and I’ll talk to you tomorrow night, okay?”
“Mmm…okay. Night, Will.”
“Night, Arianna.”
When he hung up, he let out a long breath and wondered at all the changes in his life.
For so many years, everything was regimented and there weren’t many surprises. Deployment always had its fair share of them, but for the most part, there was always a plan—a strategy—in place. And in his personal life, there had been zero surprises because he didn’t have one. Now that he did, he was finding it to be exhausting.
He wanted the business.
He wanted small town life.
And he wanted the girl.
“I want it all,” he murmured and swore silently because he should be able to. He’d served his country, made sacrifices, and now it was his turn, dammit.
He just didn’t know how to handle such an opinionated group as the Donovans. Everything they did was with love, but their methods and their delivery left a lot to be desired.
Staring up at the ceiling, he began to relax and knew he just needed to close his eyes and get some sleep. But his last thoughts of the night were how he was possibly looking at this the wrong way.
Dealing with the Donovans—all the Donovans—needed to be treated like a military mission. He needed a plan. A strategy. There was no need for any kind of hostile maneuvers. He just needed to find the best way to go about proving that not only was he a good guy who was worthy of their trust, but worthy of their daughter.
Arianna, not Ryleigh—lovely though she was.
With a small laugh, Will rolled onto his side and got even more comfortable. And now that he knew what he needed to do, he’d start working on it right away.
Or…first thing in the morning.

Tempt Me Excerpt
A week later, Liam walked into Tessa’s house and the entire place smelled like all the best parts of fall.
Someone’s baking…
They’d gotten into the habit this past week where he came over after he got home from work. She told him he didn’t have to knock or ring the bell, that he could just come in. It didn’t seem like a big deal, but he kind of liked how she trusted him.
He also liked the way she normally greeted him.
For someone who said it had been a long time since she’d been intimate with a man, she was most definitely making up for lost time and Liam was more than happy to be the one she did that with.
With each day he was discovering something new about her—something that was completely at odds with the woman he initially met. She was still ridiculously cheery and overly optimistic, but there was a bit of wildness to her she only showed when they were alone. A lot of the time, Tessa was the one to initiate sex and he loved all the ways she would seduce him.
Not that it took much. All she had to do was look at him and he was ready to strip her down and make love to her.
The night in the hot tub seemed to be the turning point.
Well, that entire afternoon and evening had changed things between them. Once they crossed the line to lovers, Liam knew nothing would ever be the same. But the hot tub seemed to unleash a little part of her she had been repressing.
Now he looked forward to seeing what part of Tessa she was going to reveal to him each day.
He found her in the kitchen where she was pulling a couple of pans out of the oven. Thanksgiving was only a few days away, and he knew she was getting ready. He hated how she was going to South Carolina to be with her family while he was staying here with his. As much as he loved a big Donovan holiday dinner, this year he would have enjoyed letting Tessa experience one too. Only…
They weren’t dating.
At least, he didn’t think they were.
Hell, whenever he tried to talk to Tessa about it, she changed the subject and he was getting a bit of a complex.
Was it possible that he was more into her than she was into him? Could she be sticking to his original plan, that this was all just about him helping her get comfortable dating again?
Oh, God…is she…using me?
For sex?
Groaning inwardly, he told himself that would be poetic justice. He’d finally found a woman he wanted to date and he’d put himself in a position where she didn’t take him seriously. It would totally serve him right for pushing her into re-discovering the sexual side of herself. Maybe now she realized that she could have all the pleasurable fun that she wanted without having any deep entanglements.
For years, that had been the dream—hell, for most guys, it was the dream—but Liam was feeling like he was ready for something more than casual. Something more fulfilling.
So then, what am I doing here?

Save Me Excerpt
Reaching out, Ryker spun her chair around until she was facing him and braced his hands on the armrest. “Why do you do that?”
“Do what? The websites? It’s my job.”
Fighting the urge to roll his eyes, he leveled her with a glare. “Not that. I mean, why do you put yourself down like that? Why would I hate any of them?”
With a small shrug, she averted her gaze. “I don’t know. I guess…I guess because compared to someone as artistic as you are, this is all kind of boring.”
Ryker immediately reached out and tucked a finger under her chin. “Let’s get one thing straight. There is nothing boring about you. Nothing. You are the most exciting woman I’ve ever met.”
“Ryker…”
“I’m serious,” he firmly interrupted. “And you want to know what bothers me the most about this entire conversation?”
She shook her head.
“Not once have you ever asked to look at my work,” he said, and wanted to kick himself. He’d been putting off this discussion out of fear of pushing her away and he had gone and done it anyway. “For all you know, I’m a shitty artist. You’ve never seen even one thing I’ve created.”
“Ryker, I…”
“It’s okay, Ryleigh. I get it. This is part of you keeping some distance between us,” he said as he pushed away from the chair. Muttering a curse, he walked back over to her wall of bookcases. “I’m a private person and I don’t offer any information about myself and after coming into your office, I see you’re the same way.”
Behind him, he heard her stand. “I grew up in this town. Everyone already knows everything about me. Or they think they do,” she amended. “The older I got, the more my hobbies and interests changed, the more I enjoyed keeping them to myself because…”
“Because it’s exhausting when everyone knows your business.” Turning his head, he looked at her and saw the sad smile on her face.
And understanding.
“I was curious about you, Ryker. Even more so after we started this whole fake relationship thing.”
Now was definitely not the time for him to open that can of worms…
“But…it’s like I said earlier, I can only deal with so much. I’m not looking for a serious relationship,” she admitted. “I like my life the way it is. When the time is right, I’ll know it. Being ambushed into dating men I have no interest in or having to fake a relationship is all just…I don’t know…I just want to live my life my way!”
Sadly, he understood exactly where she was coming from and it was almost comical how much they had in common without her realizing it. But if he aired his life story right now, she’d think he was doing it to make her change her mind about him.
Them.
Shit.
Walking over to her, he gently tugged her into his arms and kissed her. Her small gasp of surprise lasted merely a second before she wrapped herself around him. He loved when she did that. Over and over he kissed her and Ryleigh gave as good as she was getting.
“Any chance you have time for an extended break?” he asked between kisses.
“For more of this, I can take off the rest of the day,” she panted, nipping at his jaw as her hands palmed the front of his jeans.
In a flash, Ryker scooped her up in his arms and carried her out of the office and down the hall to her bedroom. He’d never been in there before and maybe later he’d give a damn about what it looked like, but all he wanted right now was to get Ryleigh naked on the sheets.
She was clearly on the same page because as soon as he set her down, she whipped her shirt up and over her head before reaching out and unbuttoning his jeans.
Ryker cupped her face and forced her to look at him. “I love it when you’re impatient,” he said with a growl.
“And I love it when your hands are on me.” Her voice was breathless and sexy as hell.
“Then brace yourself, because you’re about to be wildly in love,” he promised as he reached out and quickly rid her of the rest of her clothes.
If only she knew how much of a double entendre that promise was.

One More Chance Excerpt
It was ridiculous for him to be annoyed, and yet he was. Maneuvering over her until she was on her back on the blanket and he was braced above her, Mick stared down into her shocked face. “I don’t want you to just casually agree with me, Sienna. I want to know what you’re thinking. I’m going back on a promise to you. Doesn’t that bother you at all?”
Now it was her turn to look annoyed. “You want to know what bothers me? The fact that I’m genuinely okay with this mild change of plans and it’s not good enough for you. If you don’t want to go, then you should be man enough to just say so. Don’t put it all on me so then you have someone to blame.” With a hard shove, she pushed him off of her before getting to her feet. And without even sparing him a glance, she marched back toward the house.
He was a little impressed with how strong she was, and it was probably comical for anyone watching to see him try to scramble to his feet so he could chase after her.
Scooping up the blanket, he jogged to the stairs and took them two at a time to catch up to her on the deck.
“Hey!” he said breathlessly—and refused to acknowledge how out of shape he possibly was. “What the hell was that all about? We were having a conversation!”
“No, you were trying to be mister always does the right thing for everyone and was too afraid to make a decision for yourself! You planned this entire trip without asking anything of me and now you’re tippy-toeing around like you think I’m going to freak out if you have something you need to do! Have I given you any reason to think that I’m that kind of person?”
“Um…”
“No, I haven’t,” she answered for him. “If anything, I’ve been pretty agreeable to everything. I hung out with your friends and their wives and didn’t complain even once! And let me tell you something, buddy, that was a big deal for me! I don’t enjoy hanging out with strangers and feeling like an outsider. But I did it because I knew it was important to you!”
“Okay, but…”
“And going to see some singer tonight? That actually sounded like a lot of fun! And do you know why?”
“Um…”
“Because we’d be doing it together! I never go to concerts anymore and to see one with you and see you acting all like Mick Tyler, band manager? I’d love that! But you were so busy being all wishy-washy that you didn’t really bother to talk to me about it.” And with a huff, she turned and walked into the house and went right for the coffeemaker.
“You’re right,” he said, following her in. “This is all new, Sienna, and I can’t help feeling guilty for wanting to see this kid sing when I’m supposed to be on vacation. This trip was all for you and I kind of feel like a dick for taking any time to do business.” Walking over to her, he rested his hands on her hips and slowly pulled her close. “I’m sorry.”
CR 55%: Reaching up, Sienna cupped his jaw and forced him to look at her. “I do. And I’m very proud of you.” Leaning in, she gave him a gentle kiss. “And when we get back to the room, I have a little surprise for you.”
His eyes lit up. “More sexy underwear?”
Laughing, she shook her head. “You saw what I was wearing under this outfit earlier, of course it’s more sexy underwear,” she said with a wink. “But that’s not all.”
“Really? So what is it?”
“A surprise, that’s what. And you’ll just have to wait and see.”

Charm Me Excerpt
“Mmm…Jamie…your alarm…”
Rolling over, he slapped the damn clock to get it to shut up.
He was thoroughly exhausted, but for all the best reasons, and as he rolled back over and pulled Fallon into his arms, he seriously considered calling in sick today. She was all warm and soft and sleepy and this was just the best way to wake up in the morning.
Glancing at the clock, he knew he had about an hour before he had to leave, but Asher would be getting up soon.
Then take advantage of this moment, he told himself.
Carefully, he rolled Fallon beneath him and began kissing his way down her curvy body. Honestly, he had no idea she had all these curves, and he was loving every second he got to explore them.
She hummed softly. “Mmm…not that I’m not loving this, but…shouldn’t you be getting up?”
Chuckling against the smooth skin of her belly, he said, “Believe me, I’m up.”
“Only you could make such an immature comment sound sexy.”
“Again, part of my charm,” he replied as he kissed his way lower.
All her movements were slow and languid and made her completely pliable under his touch.
“Asher’s going to be awake soon…”
“Then we better make this fast,” he said as he made his way back up her body and kissed her soundly.
And then it wasn’t quite as fast and frantic as he imagined, but it was infinitely better. The feel of her legs wrapping around him, the sound of her soft sighs…it made him want to savor every moment. They moved together as if they’d been making love for years instead of hours, and he swore sex had never felt like this.
Because there’s a connection there…
And there was—one that was growing stronger every day, and instead of freaking him out, he was really finding the appeal in it.
In her.
Fallon Murphy was becoming something vital to him, and he hoped he hadn’t screwed things up so much in the past that she couldn’t see a future with him.
Okay, take the sex goggles off, dude. A future? Really? Don’t you have enough on your plate?
Pushing those thoughts aside, he finished loving her and making sure she started her day knowing how amazing she was.
Breathlessly, Jamie rolled off of her and did his best to catch his breath just as they heard Asher fussing through the baby monitor.
“Wow…what timing, huh?” she teased before rolling off the bed and stretching.
She was gloriously naked and even though he’d just been enjoying every inch of her body, he watched with pure appreciation as she moved around and picked her nightie up off the floor and slid it on. Then she walked over and gave him a rather chaste kiss.
“Go and take your shower and I’ll take care of Asher.”
When she was out of the room, Jamie simply stayed where he was, staring up at the ceiling. His mind instantly went back to what he was thinking about minutes ago.
It wasn’t that he was looking at this situation through sex goggles—although the sex was so freaking good that he knew he’d be sporting a hard on all day—he was finally looking at his life a little more seriously.
Asher’s arrival on his doorstep did that.
It was finally time for him to grow up and stop goofing around, time to start thinking about his future. He had a son to consider, and if he were brutally honest, it had been a long time since meaningless hookups and no-strings-attached relationships were fulfilling. To the rest of the town he might be a shameless flirt, but what most of them never knew was that most of the time, things never went beyond that. He hadn’t really dated anyone in months.
Since Jenn.
And it wasn’t because there were any lingering feelings there—because there weren’t. It was more because it was the first time a breakup didn’t go the way he wanted. They didn’t part as friends and it wasn’t smooth and it left him feeling uneasy.
More with himself than anything else.
What would have happened if he had found out sooner that she was pregnant?
He’d like to think that other than knowing about Asher’s arrival, not much else would have changed. He never would have asked Jenn to marry him, but he supposed it would have been nice to have a little more advance notice about becoming a father.
The bedroom door opened and Fallon walked in with the baby. She’d put her robe on to cover her sexy attire and all he could think was how that was a damn shame.
“Is everything okay?” he asked, sitting up.
“Just making sure you didn’t fall back to sleep,” she said with a knowing smile. “I know neither of us got much sleep last night.”
“And it was well worth it.” Kicking the blankets off, he walked over and kissed the top of his son’s head before giving Fallon a kiss that was borderline dirty, and he groaned. “You have no idea how much I want to say screw it and stay home all day. You and I could take advantage of Asher’s naptime.”
“As tempting as that sounds, you know it’s not the right thing to do. Not on short notice. Maybe see about arranging for a day off another day so we can plan something and play another day.”
He pouted. “But I want to play now.”
She playfully patted his cheek. “Aww…poor baby.” And with a sassy wink, she walked out of the room.
With no other choice because she was right, he turned and went to take a shower.
It was going to be a long day.

Loving You Excerpt
“Come on,” Jade said softly, taking his hand in hers. “Let’s go upstairs and…”
Inspiration hit.
Levi stopped in his tracks and hid a smile as she came to a halt and glanced over her shoulder at him. “Um…”
“I thought that we’d go to the kitchen first,” he said silkily, gently pulling her back to him. “And then I’m going to make a couple of sandwiches for us while you sit and relax. We’ve got all night. Why not start out with dinner and then see where things can go from there?”
Those beautiful eyes went a little wide. “You…you want to make dinner for me?”
Nodding, he leaned in, resting his forehead on hers. “It’s just grilled cheese, but I promise to do better tomorrow night.”
Her eyes went even wider. “You want to make dinner for me tomorrow night too?”
Another nod. Reaching up, he cupped her face. “I do. And then maybe one night we can go out somewhere.” He paused. “You know, if you want to. If you’d rather have some time to yourself…”
This time, she was the one who wouldn’t let him finish. Jade leaned in and silenced him with a kiss that verged on dirty and he was having serious second thoughts about having sandwiches right now. But when she pulled back and gave him a sexy smile and led him toward the kitchen, he figured he’d done something good here.
Something right.
Who knew that making dinner would be such a turn on?
In the kitchen, Jade started to pull out ingredients, but he simply led her over to one of the chairs and told her to sit. “Do you want something to drink?”
“Actually, I have a bottle of wine that I bought just for tonight.” Pausing, she laughed softly. “I mean, I bought it for myself and wasn’t going to drink it all tonight, but figured I’d treat myself to a glass of wine with dinner while Silas was gone.”
And before he could let her think on that too hard, he spotted the bottle and handed it to her. “You handle the wine and I’ll handle the food. Deal?”
“Deal,” she replied as they worked in silence for a few minutes. “So, how’d you enjoy working as a barista today?”
“I seriously want to go back and over-tip every barista I’ve ever met. I had no idea how challenging coffee could be.”
“You get used to it. I didn’t want to have some extensive drink menu like Starbucks, but I also needed to offer more than just a basic cup of coffee. I had trained Erica, Curtis, Billie, and my mom on all of it, but I was essentially learning along with them.”
“I know Billie was getting extremely frustrated with me, but…” He shrugged. “I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.”
“You really don’t have to. I appreciate you helping today, but…really, Levi, no one expects you to keep doing it.”
He glanced over at her and wanted to be a little offended, but she looked so relaxed sitting at the kitchen table that he simply shrugged again. “I’ll be there until you find someone to replace Erica. You shouldn’t have to work twelve-hour days. You have two weeks to simply be yourself with a few less responsibilities. Why spend them all at the shop?”
Nodding, she took a sip of her wine. “Because it’s my shop. I’m the boss and the owner, and it’s my responsibility.”
“But…?”
“But…I get what you’re saying. I’m just used to always being in…I don’t know…motion. When I found out I was pregnant with Silas, I knew I needed to work hard and save money so I could afford to stay home with him for those first six weeks and then afford to pay for childcare.” After another sip of wine, she continued. “I’m so thankful for my parents because we lived with them for the first six years of Silas’ life. I don’t know how I would have accomplished anything without them, but I’ve worked nonstop for most of my adult life. I don’t question it; I just do what needs to be done.”
“And that’s very commendable, but for this particular situation, you don’t have to be the one jumping in to work. I’m here to help.”
He assembled four sandwiches and put them on the griddle, waiting a few minutes before flipping them.
“But just out of curiosity, do you have any leads?” he asked, and loved hearing her husky laugh from behind him.
“A few. Curtis has a friend who’s coming in tomorrow for me to meet, and some of my mom’s friends want to volunteer too. I don’t know what hours they’re looking for, but any extra help will be wonderful.”
He flipped the sandwiches one more time before plating them. “I’m sure. I’d like to talk to you some more about a marketing idea I had. I thought…”
Jade held up her hand to stop him. “As much as I love how much you’re doing to help me with the business, right now, I’d love it so much more if we didn’t talk about…you know…business.”
It was almost comical how he had tried to do something romantic and was totally ruining it.
“You’re right, you’re right. Sorry.” Sitting beside her, he let out a long breath. “I promise I’ll be a much better date tomorrow.”
She blushed slightly before resting her hand over his. “You’re kind of a perfect date right now. Thank you for this.”
“It’s just grilled cheese.”
“I know, but it’s grilled cheese that I didn’t have to make.”
They ate in companionable silence for a minute and Levi thought about her comment. As a single mom, he figured all of the cooking was on her, but rather than focus on that, he decided to turn the conversation in a sexier direction.
“We could take them upstairs right now,” he suggested with a wink. “There was talk about that back at the shop.”
Her smile was slow and sweet and a little sexy, but rather than say anything, she simply stood with her plate in her hands.
Then she reached for her wine.
Levi did the same before following her up the stairs to her bedroom.
