Skybound is Teaming With Nat Geo WILD for DEAD BY DAWN

When the folks from Nat Geo WILD asked us if we’d be interested in helping make a nature show told like a horror movie we thought we were dreaming. Well it’s real, it’s almost here, and it’s awesome! And what better day than Halloween to give you your first look at a show that spotlights the beautiful danger of the wild night? You can get a feel for DEAD BY DAWN in this early teaser!

How flipping gorgeous and fun does that look? Our partners at Love Productions and Nat Geo WILD have done an amazing job. We can’t wait for you guys to see this series when it arrives January 2019 on Nat Geo WILD!

More information in our press release:

NAT GEO WILD GREENLIGHTS DEAD BY DAWN, A FIRST-EVER HORROR NATURE SERIES FROM THE MAKERS OF “THE WALKING DEAD”

GENRE-BUSTING SERIES REVEALS MOTHER NATURE’S SADISTIC SIDE

Dead by Dawn Premieres January 2019 on Nat Geo WILD

(WASHINGTON, D.C. – Oct. 31, 2018) Nat Geo WILD announced today the greenlight of Dead by Dawn, a new six-part series that brings horror to nature. From Skybound Entertainment (creators of “The Walking Dead”) and Love Productions, Dead by Dawn is the first-ever horror nature series. This genre-bending series showcases the horror that is reality in the wild when the sun goes down. Each episode offers its own unique twist on horror, inspired by classic, modern and cult classic films, and uses innovative storytelling techniques to infuse suspense, tension and eeriness into the terrifyingly real stories of life in the wild … after dark.

Dead by Dawn will premiere in 140 countries and 38 languages. For more information, visit www.natgeowild.com or our press site www.natgeotvpressroom.com.

Dead by Dawn delivers captivating and excellent visuals and storytelling while audaciously leaning into classic horror folly and memorable, distinctive soundtracks alongside suspenseful nature stories that begin just before sunset and end just after sunrise. Each episode features wildlife in a different country, from Costa Rica to Indonesia to the swamps of the USA. Once the sun goes down, creatures of the night battle for survival. It’s a countdown until dawn, and only the strongest and luckiest will live to see the sunrise. Warning: Be prepared to scream!

Dead by Dawn is a great example of how Nat Geo WILD continues to find new ways to showcase the real, incredible drama of the natural world, and we could not be more thrilled to collaborate with the creative minds at Skybound Entertainment and Love Productions on this exciting, edge-of-your-seat series,” said Janet Han Vissering, senior vice president of development and production at Nat Geo WILD. “Nature can often be more frightening than fiction, and I think viewers will find that this genre mashup of horror with natural history provides a refreshing and entertaining new look at the realities of life in the animal kingdom.”

“At Skybound we are fans of genre content told in compelling and new ways. Combining our passion for horror with Nat Geo WILD’s expertise in science and wildlife and Love Productions’ proficiency in storytelling for global audiences is an extremely exciting opportunity,” said Bryan and Sean Furst, co-presidents of film and TV at Skybound, in a joint statement. “We can’t wait to share stories of life and death in nature through this new lens.”

Dead by Dawn is produced by Skybound Entertainment and Love Productions for Nat Geo WILD. For Skybound Entertainment, executive producers are Bryan and Sean Furst, Robert Kirkman and David Alpert. For Love Productions, executive producers are Richard McKerrow, Kevin Bartel and Devon Massyn, and co-executive producers are Jeff Garcia, Ben Haslup and Myke Clarkson. For Nat Geo WILD, executive producer is Ashley Hoppin, senior vice president of development and production is Janet Han Vissering, and general manager and executive vice president is Geoff Daniels.

Skybound Producing New Take on Bonnie and Clyde in ‘LOVE IS A GUN’

We’re very proud to announce that we’ll be helping bring the movie LOVE IS A GUN to the big screen! This project is a modern, edgy take on the tragic love story of Bonnie and Clyde. Based on bestselling author Jeff Guinn’s “Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde” and written by Oscar nominee Sheldon Turner (with revisions by Johnny Newman), LOVE IS A GUN already has Chloë Grace Moretz (The Equalizer, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising) and Jack O’Connell (Money Monster, Unbroken) attached to star! We’re really excited about adding this project to our ever-growing slate of film projects! Stay tuned for more news on LOVE IS A GUN in the coming months. Full press release below!

CHLOË GRACE MORETZ AND JACK O’CONNELL TO STAR AS BONNIE AND CLYDE IN ‘LOVE IS A GUN’

ENDEAVOR CONTENT TO LAUNCH SALES AT AFM

Chloë Grace Moretz (Equalizer, If I Stay, The Miseducation of Cameron Post) and Jack O’Connell (Money Monster, Unbroken) are attached to star in Kiké Maillo’s LOVE IS A GUN.
Endeavor Content is handling international sales and will present the project to buyers at AFM. CAA is co-repping the film domestically with the producers.
Marissa McMahon and Ashley Schlaifer of Kamala Films (A Private War) are producing alongside Sean and Bryan Furst (Daybreakers, The Matador) of Skybound Entertainment.
Based on bestselling author Jeff Guinn’s (“Manson: The Life and Times of Charles Manson”, “The Last Gunfight”) “Go Down Together: The True, Untold Story of Bonnie and Clyde” and written by Oscar® nominee Sheldon Turner (Up In The Air) and revisions by Johnny Newman (Narcos), LOVE IS A GUN is the thrilling, gritty and emotional story of two of history’s most famous lovers, Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow.
“We are excited to reintroduce the iconic story of Bonnie and Clyde. Their story remains ubiquitous in popular culture across the globe, yet few in this generation know the details of their intimate love affair and the circumstances that led to their notorious crime spree that captured the imagination of the world in their time. Kike, Chloë and Jack are completely in sync about the character-driven approach we will be taking, and we feel lucky to have a creative team of this high caliber leading us forward,” said the producing team in a joint statement.
“Kiké Maillo brings a modern and edgy take on the universal story of star-crossed lovers, which is renowned around the world and Chloë and Jack’s casting bring an authenticity to this tragic love story,” said Alex Walton, EVP, International Film Sales and Distribution at Endeavor Content.
Production is scheduled to start in early 2019.
Moretz recently starred in The Miseducation of Cameron Post and can be currently seen in Luca Guadagnino’s Suspiria starring Dakota Johnson. She’ll next be seen with Isabelle Huppert in the thriller Greta. Her other credits include The Equalizer opposite Denzel Washington, R.J. Cutler’s If I Stay, Kick-Ass starring Nicolas Cage and Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Martin Scorsese’s Hugo, Matt Reeve’s Let Me In, and Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising, starring Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen.
O’Connell starred in Angelina Jolie’s Unbroken, Yann Demange’s ’71, Starred Up opposite Ben Mendelsohn, and Jodie Foster’s Money Monster starring Julia Roberts and George Clooney.
Maillo’s feature length directing debut, Eva starring Daniel Brühl, premiered at the 2011 Venice Film Festival and was nominated for twelve Goya Awards, winning three including Best New Director. His most recent film, the action thriller Toro, was a box office hit in Spain.
Moretz is repped by WME and T Squared Entertainment and O’Connell is repped by CAA and Conway van Gelder Grant.

DELUSION: LIES WITHIN Heading to Samsung VR

Ever since we announced our partnership with Jon Braver to turn his amazing interactive theatrical experience into a virtual reality series, people have been asking us when they can experience DELUSION: LIES WITHIN themselves. We’ve been doing the festival thing for a bit with it, but we’ve been patiently waiting to announce that we’re once again partnering with Samsung to bring this amazing theatrical VR story to the mass market! Starting November 2nd, all 4 parts of DELUSION: LIES WITHIN will be available for $4.99 through Samsung VR Video! Full details below in our release!

SKYBOUND ENTERTAINMENT’S VIRTUAL REALITY SERIES DELUSION: LIES WITHIN TO BE DISTRIBUTED ON SAMSUNG VR

The Series is Available Starting November 2, 2018

October 30, 2018 (LOS ANGELES, CA) – Skybound Entertainment’s virtual reality horror series Delusion: Lies Within will debut on Samsung VR Video starting November 2, 2018. Jon Braver wrote and directed the series, which premiered earlier this year at Overlook Film Festival. It also screened at DTLA Film Festival, as a part of an interactive experience in collaboration with Samsung Electronics America.

Delusion: Lies Within is based on Jon Braver’s 2014 immersive experience of the same name, co-written by Peter Cameron and produced by Braver’s LA-based interactive theatrical company Delusion. Set in 1947 in the American South, the series follows two rabid fans of a missing author as they set out to reclaim their beloved novelist from her literary nightmare come to life. Witty Acronym serves as a production partner on the VR series.

“Jon Braver’s vision for Delusion: Lies Within brings to life truly captivating storytelling in VR, and we’re excited to share his story with a larger audience,” said Rachel Skidmore, Vice President of Emerging Platforms at Skybound. “Samsung VR Video is an ideal partner to spread an immersive experience such as Delusion further than the capacity of a theatrical event, and we’re thrilled to be working with the team again.”

“Samsung VR Video is thrilled to team up with Skybound Entertainment again — this time bringing Jon Braver’s Delusion: Lies Within to global audiences. In the immersive adaptation of his wildly successful theater piece, Jon’s superb storytelling combined with the studio’s excellent live-action capture and special effects are exemplary of what virtual reality desires in long-form, episodic content today,” said Yoon Lee, Senior Vice President of Content and Services at Samsung Electronics America.

The episodic story will offer a cinematic adventure following various characters through their dark journey, offering a unique perspective on immersive storytelling. Viewers will be able to purchase the series on Samsung VR Video for $4.99.

Skybound and Samsung previously partnered together for the distribution of Gone, the first-ever scripted virtual reality series from Samsung.

GASOLINA Volume 2 Cover Inks vs Colors

Hey Skybound Insiders! GASOLINA Volume 2 is out today so we wanted to give you a before-and-after of the cover art. Below you can see how Niko Walter’s awesome inks are brought to the next level by Mat Lopes’s brilliant colors! Move the slider back and forth to compare the two. Our final image this week is the fully-dressed cover. You’ll see that it’s slightly smaller than the original inks. This is because artists will draw larger than needed to account for printing and bleed, so a little bit of the art is always trimmed off.
