Teaseday – Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) – Excerpt
Today’s tease comes from the paranormal romance book Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…
No. He needed to resist.
Blinded by the pain, Snow fumbled for the wrist restraint and slammed his arm into it. The cuff whipped shut and locked automatically. After the incident with Anya and the party, Snow had asked Antoine to custom order him new restraints for his wrists, ones he would be able to close himself without any need for assistance, and therefore no need to risk the lives of those he cared about by asking them to help him.
He flopped onto his back and brought his other arm down hard. It hit only mattress. He tried again and missed the cuff for a second time.
The female foolishly moved forwards as though she wanted to assist him, and he snarled and lashed out at her with his free hand, his blunt claws swiping the air just millimetres from her stomach.
She gasped, flapped her black wings, and shot away from him, towards the mahogany panelled entrance door of his apartment. She didn’t leave. Her wide luminous eyes locked on him.
Snow smacked his arm down again and hit the cuff this time, causing it to snap shut around his wrist. He breathed hard, fighting the hunger for blood and death, and swallowed. His insides burned with the need for blood, setting him aflame and pushing him to the edge of oblivion. Couldn’t lose it. Not again. Not when everyone was expecting him to come down later and be around the babies.
Not when the angel was perilously close to him.
She had moved to the foot of the bed again and was staring at him with pity in her eyes.
He cursed her in the language of his homeland for that and she flinched away, her jet-black hair falling down to mask her face. Her fear reached out and curled around him, tempting him into breaking free and slaking his thirst for violence on her.
No. Couldn’t.
“Feet.” He forced the word out from between clenched teeth and his fangs cut into his gums, flooding his mouth with the taste of his wretched blood.
She didn’t move.
Snow snarled and lashed out with his legs, hoping to show her what might happen if she was foolish enough to ignore his request.
“I presume angels can die?” he growled the words at her, throwing them like barbs in a black deadly tone.
She visibly shook, her wide eyes darting to his before they shot to his ankles and then the cuffs attached to the heavy steel bedposts. Her nerves washed over him but she moved this time, bravely inching forwards. He tried to control himself but her proximity to him wreaked havoc and he kicked out again, trying to injure her to satisfy his dark needs even when he didn’t want to hurt her.
She grabbed the cuff in one hand and tried to capture his ankle with the other. He snarled, planted his left foot onto the mattress and used it as leverage to thrust his other leg as close as he could get it to her. The cuffs around his wrists bit into his flesh and almost jerked his arms out of their sockets, but the pain didn’t stop him from kicking out at her with his right foot.
She skilfully evaded the blow, snagged his ankle with a lightning fast strike, and had the cuff around it before he could catch up.
Her face set in grim lines of determination, she tackled his other ankle and easily captured it.
Snow hated feeling completely vulnerable and weak, he always had, and the feel of the cuff locking around his ankle sent him off the deep end. He thrashed wildly, bucking and snarling, pulling against his restraints until his bones blazed and his skin shredded.
Still it wasn’t enough to stop him from thirsting for blood and fearing he would escape and make a meal out of the angel.
“Come.” He jerked his chin, trying to entice her. He had broken restraints before when lost to his bloodlust and although these new ones had held him firm for three weeks, he wasn’t about to trust they wouldn’t give out if he used all of his strength on them.
She held her ground, refusing to budge, her eyes on his fangs. “No.”
Snow roared. “Come here or die! I will not harm you.”
Perhaps threatening her wasn’t his best move given the situation and his current condition. She shook her head.
“Collar.” He pushed the word out before another surge in his hunger overpowered his ability to speak and left him snarling in agony and bowing off the mattress. He dug the back of his head into the black pillows and growled through the blistering wave of fire that rushed through his veins.
When a glimmer of sanity returned, the angel was standing at the head of the bed on his right, pity back in her eyes again. He snapped at her with his fangs and cursed her. She glared at him and struck him hard, the slap burning his left cheek.
“You dare speak to me that way again and I will leave.”
Good. He wanted her to leave. Snow cursed her again, blacker and fouler this time, calling her names that would have shamed his mother if she had heard them. The foolish wench had tried to raise him to be a placid, gentle man. Snow chuckled darkly. Placid. Gentle. Stupid bitch. He was vicious. Evil. Twisted.
The angel struck him again, hard enough this time that pain splintered across his skull like a spider web, driving him towards darkness. God damn it. Snow wanted another one of those blows. He wanted oblivion and unconsciousness.
Her eyes flicked to the thick steel chain attached to his headboard and the collar at the end of it.
“I will not put that on you.” She sounded resolute but the fear in her eyes said he could probably convince her to go through with it.
He tried to grab her, twisting his body towards hers, and she moved back a step.
“Collar,” he snarled.
“No,” she whispered, shaking her head, her beautiful eyes imploring him not to ask her again. “It feels wrong to do such a thing to a man.”
Snow snapped at her. “I am not a man. Collar me.”
He threw his head back and snarled again as a fresh wave of fire burned through him and his stomach cramped harder than ever, his insides feeling as though they were trying to tie themselves into knots.
Snow lurched forwards and in that moment, cold steel brushed the back of his neck and then closed over the front. Mercy. She had done it, and while he had been lost to his dark urges too. Foolish female.
He collapsed onto the bed and breathed hard, trying to edge himself through a coming episode without it hitting him fully.
Her soft warm fingers brushed a line across his throat, the action soothing him even as it stoked his hunger to a dangerous new level. She smelled so good this close. He could scent her blood flowing beneath her creamy skin. Saliva pooled in his mouth. His fangs itched for a taste of her.
Snow managed to turn his face away from her.
“You have marks that say you wear this collar often.” There was pity in her voice. “Why is it so necessary?”
Snow looked up at her and smirked. “I have a little drinking problem.”

A powerful vampire lost deep in his bloodlust, Snow is a savage animal, mindless with rage and a thirst for violence, and trapped with no hope of awakening from an endless nightmare… until a song draws him up from the abyss, restoring his sanity but leaving him haunted by the sweet feminine scent of lilies and snow, and fragmented familiar lyrics.
When the mysterious and beautiful songstress reappears in Snow’s room at Vampirerotique, she awakens a fierce protective streak and stirs dark desires that drive him to claim her as his female, even when he knows his touch will destroy her innocence.
A single forbidden taste is all it takes to unleash emotions in Aurora that she shouldn’t possess, tearing her between duty and desire, and luring her into surrendering to her wildfire passion and embracing hungers that burn so hotly they threaten to consume them both.
One act of kindness can lead to one thousand acts of sin though, each a black mark against the bearer’s soul and another grain of sand that slips through an hourglass. The clock is ticking and time is almost up. Can beauty save the beast?

Snippet Saturday – Bewitch (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 5) – Excerpt
Snippet Saturday is brought to you today by my paranormal romance book Bewitch, which is the fifth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Saturday’s snippet…
“One night.”
Those two words leaving Payne’s lips shocked Elissa. She didn’t feel as though she had won. It was offered grudgingly. Still, a single night of pleasure with Payne. It excited her but scared her too. She wasn’t sure where to begin or what he would expect from her, or whether she really could help him accept his incubus side so they could discover where the rest of his kind lived.
When she had suggested he submit to her, she had done so because she had figured that she needed to do something dramatic in order to push him over the edge and force him to give in to his needs. It had worked. Now what was she meant to do?
She had asked him to submit to her. She had never done anything like this before. She had never experienced being with a male as strong as Payne was. She’d had mortal males in her lifetime, but nothing that had lasted, and she had never been with a demonic breed of fae because certain aspects of them were forbidden. What was he going to say about that when she told him?
What if he was too powerful for her?
Her heart told her to give up this foolish venture before it ended in tears and disaster, but she couldn’t ignore her intense attraction to him or the need that shot through her whenever she looked at him.
Payne excited her. He was forbidden fruit and she was desperate for a taste. She knew that with him she would be pushing the boundaries and dancing with danger. It thrilled her and she couldn’t help wanting it. She ached to know a demon’s touch.
Payne’s touch.
Nerves skittered through her, causing her hands to shake and palms to sweat. They worsened when Payne slipped his arm around her waist, pulled her flush against his body, and teleported them back to her sister’s home. She swallowed and tried to stifle her trembling, but the way he frowned at her said that she couldn’t hide it from him. Fool. Of course she wouldn’t be able to hide her fear from a vampire. They thrived on sensing it in others.
She tipped her chin up, grabbed his hand and led him towards the bedroom.
Mother earth, what was she doing? She didn’t have the first clue about this sort of thing. She had never seduced a man, let alone played the role of dominant to their submissive.
They entered the bedroom and she stopped dead, her eyes on the blue satiny sheets covering the double bed. The silver stars stitched onto the material blurred. Her panic increased.
Payne rounded her, his eyes on her chest. Listening to her rushing heart?
“Do you need a moment?” There was a beautiful tilt to his lips, as though he found her nerves pleasing. Why? It struck her that it was because it gave away that this wasn’t the sort of thing she normally did with a man.
Elissa shook her head, trying to look casual, and then nodded. His smile widened and he reached up and grazed his thumb across her lower lip, sending a hot shiver through her. He let his hand fall from her face and went back into the main room of the house, closing the door. Very courteous. Giving her privacy to get her explosive nerves under control. She listened, hoping he hadn’t just used the opportunity to do a runner. She heard beakers clink together and the curtains close.
She drew a deep breath and exhaled. Gods, she wanted this, wanted him, but what the hell had she just signed up for? He would be expecting sexy. Could she do sexy? Could she be dominant with a man?
Dominant wasn’t in her nature.
She squirmed on the spot. Already desire was dampening her knickers. She glanced at her wardrobe. Sexy. She could be sexy for Payne. She wanted to be that way for him.
She pulled out her drawers and dressed in her most provocative black lace underwear. A simple bra and shorts. The mirror hanging on the back of the door mocked her. Not sexy enough. She could fix that. A little magic improved it, changing her dull underwear to a black satin bustier, thong and fishnet stockings, together with thigh-high black stiletto leather boots. Her heart pounded and desire heated her blood as she stared at her reflection. Very fuck me.
She completed her look by twisting her long chestnut hair into a messy knot at the back of her head and kept her black choker on. Anything to draw his attention to her neck. He might be easier to tease into submission if she was playing her best cards. He wanted to bite her. She had seen it in his eyes. She swallowed again. Gods, would he bite her if she let him? If she made him? The thought that he might obey such a command and sink long sharp fangs into her flesh had her thighs quivering.
The floorboards in the other room creaked. Payne was pacing again. Did he feel as nervous as she did? She felt as though she was about to make a terrible mistake but it was too late now to stop herself. She wanted him. Needed this. She nibbled her lower lip and approached the closed door. She opened it a crack and peeked through to the other room and Payne. He looked troubled, his handsome features set in a dark scowl. How did women make men submit?
Her eyes shifted to the silver rope on the desk.
Another shiver bolted through her, hot from the thought of using it on him.
Payne distracted her. He unbuttoned his shirt and removed it, revealing his bare torso as he walked towards her. A good sign, surely? He wanted to do this too.
He turned his back and she tracked his fae markings with her eyes. The line of symbols ran up the underside of his forearms, curved over the outside of his elbows and snaked over his biceps to his shoulders. From there, they ran across the backs of his shoulders and joined above his spine. They followed the line of it down and ended in a diamond above his bottom, between two very sensual dimples.
Elissa had never seen anything so sexy.
She ached to touch them or run her tongue over them. He didn’t like it when she touched them though. Would he be angry with her? Elissa frowned. She was approaching this all wrong. He had sworn to submit to her for one night. A submissive didn’t get to be angry or pick and choose what she did.
She eased the door open, waved her hand and the silver rope wound around his wrists and up his forearms, binding them together behind his back. He growled and snarled, his fae markings flashing red and black, and turned on the spot. The moment his eyes found her, he fell silent and still, his chest heaving and muscles straining. The symbols inked on his skin flared in new colours, shades of red and dark pink. Gods, he was delicious.
She wanted to touch him.
Elissa slowly approached him, enjoying the way his eyes were taking her in, drifting over her. His pupils dilated, swallowing some of the grey and the sparks of blue and gold. She stopped before him and traced her fingers over his markings, following them up his right biceps and over his shoulder. His breathing accelerated and he strained against the ropes.
“They’re enchanted.” She smiled up at him. His eyes bore into hers, dark and hungry. “You can’t break them.”
He tracked her as she moved behind him, the blue and gold in his eyes brightening. Elissa held his gaze and cautiously lowered her mouth to his shoulder. She pressed her lips to the marks there. He closed his eyes and inhaled, his nostrils flaring and the cords in his neck tightening.
Elissa remained behind him and encircled him in her arms, laying her hands against his granite hard chest. She murmured low in her throat, unable to contain the jolt of pleasure that ran through her. Payne groaned and strained against the ropes again, causing every muscle on his torso to tense and delight her. She skimmed her fingers over the taut ridges of his stomach and bravely continued past the erotic dip of his navel, into the soft dusting of sandy hair that led downwards.
Payne sucked his stomach in and tensed.
She trembled and slid her hand into his jeans.

Snippet Saturday – Unleash (Vampire Erotic Theatre Romance Series Book 6) – Excerpt
Snippet Saturday is brought to you today by my paranormal romance book Unleash, which is the sixth book in my popular Vampire Erotic Theatre romance series. Read on for this Saturday’s snippet…
“Your bed is strange.” Her voice was melodic and light, a sound that curled around him and soothed his ears but not his bloodlust. That worsened, as though it despised her presence. She played havoc with it, and with him, and he was haemorrhaging patience. She pointed to the thick steel bars at the corners of his bed and the cuffs attached to them. “You have strange tastes. Why?”
Her gaze lit upon him, bright and curious, and Snow had the feeling that she was testing him for some infernal reason.
He could ignore questions too. “What do you want?”
She walked in a shallow circle, those curious eyes flickering around everything, cataloguing it and then coming back to take every inch of him in.
“I want nothing,” she said and drifted across the room to his dressing table.
Her fingertips danced over everything on it, from the lamp to the candles, to the stack of books. She leaned forwards, cocked her head to one side, and ran her fingers down the spines. The action shifted her black wings, causing the longest feathers of the right one to graze the floor.
She straightened and turned back to face him. “I felt you suffering again and was unable to ignore it, even though I know I should have this time.”
Snow frowned. “You were here with me… before. It was you.”
She nodded and walked towards him, her steps so light even he couldn’t hear them. She twirled her black hair around the fingers of her left hand and smiled at him. It hit him square in the chest and knocked the wind out of him.
“If you were here… then you know why my bed is the way that it is, and why I must chain myself. So why did you ask?” He growled the question, growing tired of her cryptic behaviour.
“I was curious to know what you would tell me.” She wrapped her small hands around one of the steel posts at the end of his bed and leaned her shoulder against it.
Snow didn’t like that she had seen him in the throes of his bloodlust, but he was beginning to share her sense of curiosity. “Why are you here… and why did you sing to me?”
A pretty blush coloured her flawless pale cheeks. “You remember?”
Wasn’t he supposed to have remembered? Evidently, she hadn’t expected him to recall that someone had been in his room, singing him to sleep, speaking to him in a language that hadn’t left his lips in close to one thousand years before he had awoken to find Antoine watching over him.
Snow nodded.
She didn’t tell him why she was here. She pushed away from the post and twirled so her back was to him, the white layers of her dress spinning outwards to reveal the outline of her shapely legs beneath. Snow barely bit back the growl that rumbled up his throat at the sight of her long slender legs.
Her black wings shifted and stretched, almost spanning his room before settling against her back again.
“I do not enjoy your choice of decor,” she said in a bright tone and looked over her shoulder, past her black wing to him. “It is morbid. Mortals would call it depressing.”
Snow folded his arms across his chest. “You know that I am not mortal, and I feel this decor suits me and this place.”
He smiled slowly. Desire to make her blush again so he could see it shot through him.
“You must know the sort of business I run with the others here, and the sort of creature I am.”
“I do not care.” She twirled to face him, affording him another glimpse of long legs that would have made him blush if he hadn’t been in perfect control of himself.
“Again, female, why are you here?” If she didn’t answer this time, he might leave the bed, grab her shoulders and shake the answer out of her.
She was petite, delicate in appearance, but his senses warned that she was powerful and more than able to put him on his arse if he tried to harm her.
“I said… I was watching over you.” Her black eyebrows pinched in a frown. “Do you not listen?”
Snow scowled back at her and scoffed at her words. “My own guardian angel? I have done nothing to deserve an angel watching over me. Your kind should be put to better use, given to those who deserve you.”
Her frown hardened. “You do not deserve compassion?”
There was an edge to her expression and the hint of her emotions that he could detect that told him she didn’t believe him worthy of compassion either and that she hated being here. Confusing female.
He wanted to pick her up on her feelings towards him and ask her why she was here when she harboured such dark, un-angel-like emotions. Did she despise all of his kind or just him? Had he done something to gain her scorn?
It bothered him but he pushed it to the back of his mind, unwilling to contemplate the notion that she may hate all vampires because it would inevitably lead to him deciding that she was a danger to everyone at the theatre and then his bloodlust would break free of the tattered threads that restrained it.
She had been in the room before, and he didn’t know how many other times she had visited him over the twenty-one days he had been out of his mind. If she were a threat, she would have attacked before now.
No. Attacking the theatre or killing him were not the reasons she was here. There was another one, one she was unwilling to share with him right now.
The angel meandered around his room again, the longest feathers of her black wings almost grazing the wooden floor with each silent step.
She delighted in the strangest things, such as looking through his drawers and pulling out items of clothing and holding them up for inspection. She rummaged through his wardrobe too, and held more than one shirt against her small, wickedly sensual body.
Those shirts would smell like her, and he had the stupidest urge to wear one of them tonight and carry her sweet scent with him to the party. It was almost as pathetic as the pleasing image of her dressed in only one of his shirts, curled up asleep and sated on his bed, that leaped into his mind.
She hummed as she poked at everything on top of his dressing table again and thumbed through several of his books. The same melody she had sung to him. The sound of it soothed his bloodlust and relaxed him, and he found himself enjoying her company.
She turned on the spot again and looked from his black-tiled bathroom and the broken mirror to him, her dark eyebrows rising as her gaze fell to his injured hand.
“Why did you taste your blood only to spit it into the sink?” That question leaving her lips caught him off guard and almost knocked the wind from him.
“You saw?”
“Of course,” she said in a matter of fact tone, as though it shouldn’t surprise him that he hadn’t been as alone as he had thought.
“From here?” He didn’t like the thought of her being in his room, invisible to his senses, watching him. It stirred his bloodlust, reawakening the sense that she was a threat to him.
She shook her head.
“No. From my home.” Another pretty blush stained her cheeks. “I did not watch when I should not have. I only saw you strike the mirror and what came afterwards, and then I turned my gaze away from you again.”
Snow raised a single eyebrow at her. He hadn’t even considered that she could have been watching him in the shower. The thought of this beauty secretly watching him bathe had something other than his bloodlust rising and he cleared his throat and shifted his leg so she wouldn’t notice.
“Why did you spit out your blood?”
Snow averted his gaze, settling it on the black covers beside his left hip. Why indeed. He would sound stupid if he told her the truth, but the thought of lying to her didn’t sit well in his stomach, causing it to squirm worse than his hunger did.
He sighed. “Because it tastes foul.”
Snow lifted his head again, locking his eyes on her, monitoring her for a sign that might tell him what she thought of that. Her expression remained placid but the pink tint on her cheeks darkened as he stared at her and a flicker of curiosity reignited in her striking eyes.
“Why ask me about my blood and not about why I struck the mirror?” He couldn’t hold that one inside any longer. If she had watched him strike the mirror and then suck blood from the wound only to spit it out, shouldn’t her first question have been about his reason for smashing the glass? He was sure most people would have chosen that as their starting point.
Her gaze held his, unwavering and unreadable, emotionless. “Because I already know the reason why, Snow. I know what haunts your soul.”
Snow swallowed hard, the action forcing his galloping heart back down into his chest. The way she stared at him, her cool impassive eyes looking deep into his, as if she could see beyond his physical form, down to the soul she claimed to know, set him on edge and made him believe that she spoke the truth.
She knew all about him and the wretched acts in his past that he couldn’t escape.
This angel knew his pain and he had the feeling that she had been watching over him for longer than these past few days.
She turned away again and the instant the link between their eyes broke, he sagged against the pillows and his mind raced with the possibility that this angel had been watching over him for centuries or longer. His gaze followed her, tracking her as she resumed her perusal of his room.
Her eyes leaped from one thing to another in his apartment, but never fell on him. In fact, she seemed to be avoiding him now, as though she feared gazing upon him for some reason.
He doubted it was because she had noticed the effect of her earlier words on him and how quickly his body had reacted to the thought of her watching him shower. He even doubted it was because she knew his dark past and that it still tormented him now.
Was it because he wasn’t decent? He refused to close his robe for her sake. She had come to his room, an intruder not an invited guest. She would have to take him as she found him or leave.
When she turned in his direction to study the cuffs attached to the posts at the foot of his bed, her beauty arrested him again, claiming all of his attention. Her strange eyes darkened as she opened and closed one of the cuffs, and even went as far as shutting it around her delicate wrist. Her nose wrinkled in a frown when her hand easily slid free of the closed cuff.
Even the ones for his hands would produce the same result. They were designed for his thicker wrists and larger hands, not the slender ones of a female.
Her eyes finally lifted and met his, and the longer he stared into their mesmerising depths, the calmer he felt. He wasn’t sure why.
She curled her hand around the post at the foot of his bed to his right and swung around it until her knees hit the edge of the mattress. Closer than ever. She was within five feet of him now and not a trace of fear flickered in her eyes. Even Antoine was afraid of him at times and with good reason too.
His stomach twisted and rumbled, his hunger rearing its ugly head. He needed to chain himself and sleep, not give in to his urge to feed. Taking more blood tonight would be a grave mistake. He had to wean himself off it again, dropping to the smaller doses that had proved effective at keeping his bloodlust under better control before he had fallen off the wagon in dramatic style by draining three canisters in a row a few months ago.
“Leave, before it is too late,” Snow growled in warning and sat forwards with the intention of securing his ankles.
His gut clenched violently and his hands shook from the pain that ripped through him, shattering his fragile control over his bloodlust. He glanced at the angel, afraid he would harm her if he didn’t shackle his wrists this second. He trembled as he lay back, his stomach churning again, twisting in on itself until he couldn’t draw breath. Blood. He needed blood.
His eyes fixed darkly on the female.
Her blood.
He would drink her dry.

Payne could feel the questions bubbling inside her and he knew that she wouldn’t be able to resist voicing them forever. He wanted her to. She was beautiful, bewitching, and he couldn’t deny that he was attracted to her, but whenever she mentioned his incubus side, he wanted to leave and forget helping Andreu and Chica.
He could be their only hope though. Elissa could be their only hope.
They reached the edge of the woods and she paused and faced him.
“Have you ever submitted to someone?”
Payne froze and blinked hard. He had to have heard his petite, enchanting Elissa wrong. She couldn’t have just asked what he thought she had. The dark colouring on her cheeks said that she had and was regretting it.
He forced a shrug. “Once or twice.”
His stomach clenched. He hoped that answer would satisfy her.
The frown on her face said it hadn’t. “I don’t believe you’ve ever really submitted to someone. It isn’t in your nature. That’s part of your problem… neither side of you can submit. Both sides crave control too much. The incubus and the vampire.”
Payne couldn’t deny that and he didn’t like that she had seen it in him so quickly after meeting him. His version of submission had been letting women go on top. Hers seemed far more threatening, and alluring. Surrendering complete control to a woman? The very thought had him as hard as steel in his jeans but at the same time made him want to flee.
She swallowed, her sexy throat working overtime, and braved a step towards him. Her eyes were dark in the low light but he didn’t miss the challenge they issued.
“Submit to me,” she said and he almost choked, barely stopped himself from making a scene that would only render him weak in her eyes, stripping him of his masculinity.
He wanted to tell her that there was no way he was going to do such a thing and that he would find some incubi and ask them about finding the den and his grandfather. He still tensed inside whenever he thought about that. The ring he needed was not only in the clutches of an incubus. It was in the grip of his grandfather, a man he had hated without ever knowing.
He must have looked as though he was going to ditch her because she launched forwards and grabbed his wrists.
Elissa looked up into his eyes, that sense of fear, desperation and hope in them again. She needed him.
He needed her, but he couldn’t indulge such desires. What she was suggesting was dangerous.
“One night of passion at my command. It will help you. It will help us both. The only way to find the incubi hideout is to embrace your incubus side and let it take control. You’ll sense the location and be able to teleport straight there.” She paused for air and tightened her grip on him and he could feel her trembling. “Please, Payne. We both need this. Please. Surrender to your desire.”
He knew his eyes were positively glowing at the prospect but he couldn’t stomach the thought of allowing his incubus side to take dominance over his vampire one. He shook his head.
“You’re afraid.” She didn’t say it in a mocking way but that was how his heart heard it, and he couldn’t deny it. It wasn’t fear holding him back though.
“It isn’t that,” he said calmly and her grip on his arms eased. “I cannot do it. My incubus side will want to dominate you as well as the vampire in me.”
“That’s only because you’ve never really embraced it. You constantly want to reject it. It’s the whole point of the exercise… you need to embrace that side of yourself if we’re going to stand a chance of discovering where the other incubi are hiding.”
Payne despised how easily she could see through him to the truth he tried so hard to hide. What else could she tell about him whenever she looked at him? He hoped she couldn’t see some things, like the black stains on his soul.
“You just want to get into my pants.” He gunned for charming even though it was hard to smile at her when his insides were in turmoil, his heart and head tearing him in too many directions.
She smiled and it was dazzling, alluring and just a little bit wicked. He had the feeling that her one night of passion had absolutely nothing to do with helping him connect to his incubus side so he could find this place of the incubi. She really did want him. Why? What did she see in him to make him worthy of her that he couldn’t?
He had tried to figure her out back in her temporary home. Whenever she had glanced his way with desire darkening her beautiful eyes, he had tried to understand what it was about him that made her look at him that way. He had snarled at her, gnashed his fangs, and hurt her, and she had still found ways to touch him, still smiled at him, still wanted him.
He didn’t understand her at all.
“I’m only asking for one moment with you, Payne.”
One moment too many and one thousand too few.
Payne stared at her, knowing his eyes were brightening and unable to stop the reaction. He couldn’t take it anymore. He was so hard for her, too far gone to care about the danger or the details. She was offering him a moment with her and he needed it. He had never needed anything so fiercely. She might break him though. He had never submitted to anyone because it wasn’t in his nature, but he would try for her, because right now he would do anything for a taste of this exquisite beauty before him.
He would try to stifle his incubus side to protect her. He couldn’t embrace it though, not as she wanted.
He had only embraced his incubus side once in his lifetime and it had awakened something terrible within him.
That night, he had lost the only woman he had ever loved.

Teaseday – Claimed by a Demon King (Eternal Mates Paranormal Romance Series Book 2) – Excerpt
Today’s tease comes from the book Claimed by a Demon King, which is the second book in my popular Eternal Mates romance series. Read on for this Tuesday’s tease…
“Is there a dress code for tonight?” Sable looked at the beautiful gown and then Loren’s fine clothing resting over the chair.
She hadn’t brought anything for this sort of situation and she doubted her team had either. All of her clothes were fit for battle and nothing else. Even if she had known in advance about the feast, it wouldn’t have helped. She didn’t own anything as fine as the dress Loren held. She didn’t own a dress period.
“I really don’t want to offend Thorne,” she ignored the teasing look Olivia slid her way, “but I know all of my team brought only battle clothes with them.”
“That will not be a problem.” Loren laid the dress down on top of his clothing and turned to her. “You represent your team so only you will be seated at the main table with the other commanding officers. Thorne will not mind if your subordinates are dressed plainly.”
In other words, he would mind if she was.
Sable refused to panic about this. “Maybe there’s a demon female I can borrow a dress from.”
“That won’t be possible,” Olivia said, snatching her focus. “There are no demon females.”
She gasped. “Who were those women then?”
“Witches… a vampire or two. I believe there was even a shifter amongst them,” Loren replied and Sable’s gaze darted back to him.
“Demons don’t have females?” How had she not known that?
“No,” Olivia said for him and why hadn’t her friend told her about this? “The Devil put some sort of curse on seven demon species when they seized these lands to make their own realms… I guess he was pissed because he wiped out all the women and made it so the men would have to seek out their fated one. Now, demons can only mate with their fated females. The kicker is that most of them are mortal… and demons stick out like sore thumbs in our world.”
Mortal.
Sable’s pulse kicked up a notch. “How do they know their female?”
“They dream of her after meeting her.” Loren’s smile turned wicked and she didn’t like the glint in his eyes.
Cold slithered through her even as her cheeks began to heat.
“You’re talking… naughty… dreams.” Could she sound any more innocent and nervous?
He nodded. “Very, very naughty.”
“Loren,” Olivia chided and crossed the room to him. Sable thanked her for backing her up until her friend turned to her, forming an allied front with Loren, her smile just as wicked as his was. “You’re not having naughty dreams of Thorne are you, Sable?”
“No.” Lie. A whopper of one. The dreams she’d had of him had been x-rated and hotter than all of her real-life encounters rolled into one. “Besides, I’m not a demon male. Why would I dream of him?”
Loren preened his jacket and casually said, “Because their female dreams of them too, and they both experience the same dream if they’re sleeping at the same time.”
Holy hell in a hand-basket. His triumphant smile said he had noticed the blush that had risen onto her cheeks before she had gotten the better of herself.
“Screw both of you. Stop messing with me.”
“In all seriousness, demons are aggressive and it often takes their female to tame them and teach them civility, so try to avoid the unmated ones.” Olivia touched Sable’s arm.
She nodded, even though she didn’t think they were particularly aggressive. Thorne seemed quite calm to her most of the time, and the demons she had encountered so far were not as she had pictured or how Olivia said they were.
Olivia squeezed her arm. “Why did you hurl yourself into that fight?”
Sable glared at her. Could she not have five minutes without Olivia or Loren insinuating that she fancied Thorne?
She sighed. “I honestly thought they were attacking him. What else was I to think? We were called here to help in a war and we appear in the middle of a huge fight!”
Loren smiled and she wanted to slug him. “Your clue was that the other demons in the area were merely watching events unfold and not stepping in to protect their king.”
Sable loosed a ripe curse in his direction and then added, “Shut up.”
“It’s just like you to see a fight and want in on it,” Olivia said and she was about to nod in agreement until her friend ruined it by tacking on, “Of course, if it hadn’t been Thorne in the middle of that battle—”
“You can shut up too.” Sable took her arm away from Olivia and scowled at both of them.
“Come, come. I believe we have teased her enough. She will use one of those crossbow bolts on us if we do not stop.” Loren held his hand out to Olivia and she slipped hers into it and went to him. He pulled his mate flush against him and smiled down into her eyes before turning his gaze back on Sable. “Do not worry about the feast. Bleu will have left a dress for you in your room.”
There was a knock at the door. Sable opened it and stared as a huge blond demon rolled a large wooden tub into the room and set it down by the fire. Others entered behind him, carrying pitchers of steaming water.
A bath.
Sable wanted one of those too. She needed to relax before she could even think about showing her face at the feast. She wanted to scrub away her shame and embarrassment, and unwind.
She leaned out into the hall and looked along it towards her room.
A big dark-haired male stood there with another tub and an impatient look on his rugged face.
“Got to dash.” She looked over her shoulder to Loren and Olivia, at the tub and then back at them. “Try to keep the volume turned down when you’re scrubbing her back, Big Guy.”
Loren blushed and he blushed hard.
Sable tossed him a victorious grin and shot from the room. The demon waiting with the tub scowled at her and then something flickered in his dark red eyes and he straightened and bowed his head. She grimaced when she recognised him as one of the demons from the courtyard. Just great. She got to have her tub delivered by someone who had witnessed the whole debacle with his king.
“Roll it in, Big Guy.” She pushed her door open and waved him on. He grunted something under his breath and heaved the tub forwards, picked it up with one hand on the rim, walked to the fireplace off to her left and set it down. She hadn’t meant to challenge his strength but he had clearly taken her pet term and words as just that. Maybe he wasn’t good with English.
He flicked her another glance, raking his gaze over her from head to toe this time, curled his lip and stalked off.
Not stalked. Limped.
Great. Not just a witness but one of the ones she had shot.
“Sorry,” she called after him but he didn’t stop.
He disappeared around the corner and the other demons filed in, depositing the hot water into the tub.
Water in Hell. Back at Archangel, she had wondered if they would have such things in this part of Hell. Loren’s kingdom had water but then they had portals that channelled a river through their lands. Where did this kingdom get its water?
Probably through portals. Demons could teleport too.
Sable closed the door after the last demon had left and turned to the bed.
A beautiful sky-blue dress lay on top of the furs. She crossed the room to it and gazed down at the gauzy layers of fabric and the elegant silver metalwork of the corset beside it. It took her breath away. She had never worn anything so beautiful or so feminine.
A vision of her walking into the great hall and Thorne going wild for her the moment he set eyes on her rose into her mind.
She shut it out. She couldn’t let things go that way. She was here on an important mission, one that would decide the fate of Thorne’s kingdom. She couldn’t let her desire get the better of her. She couldn’t become a distraction for Thorne.
She couldn’t give him the impression that she wanted him, even when she burned for him.

Claimed by a Demon King
Felicity Heaton
The moment the demon King Thorne of the Third Realm set eyes on the mortal huntress Sable, he knew she was his fated one. The fiery, dangerous female awakened hungers he had never experienced before, a dark craving and passion that has consumed him in their time apart. As the lunar cycle wanes, she enters his world again and nothing will stand in the way of him claiming his forever with her—not the relentless assault from the Fifth Realm or the dark elf male determined to seduce her out of his grasp.
Intent on achieving the coveted position of commander at Archangel, Sable leads her small team into the dark underworld and the Third Realm, to a war where her allies are the very creatures she normally hunts—vampires, werewolves, and demons. Her eagerness to lead the deadly mission has everything to do with winning her promotion, and nothing to do with the kingdom’s brash, lethally seductive demon king—a king who stirred fierce desire and wildfire heat in her with just a look and an innocent touch when they first met, and has been in her wicked dreams ever since.
As the gathering storm between rivals unleashes irresistible passion that flares white-hot and the heat of the battle brings life-shattering realisations, can Sable place her duty before her heart? Or will she surrender to her deepest desires and be claimed by a demon king?
