In the Beautiful Rocky Mountains!

I arrived safely in Denver and my friend, Greg, picked me up at the airport.  Tim and I have known each other for over 30 years.  We went to high school together, and him and his wife live in Bailey, about an hour southwest of Denver.  They graciously offered to have me stay with them until the ACFW Conference starts on Thursday.  Wow!  What a time we've had catching up and reminiscing about our high school days...and HIS grandchildren.  Don't know how all the years went by so fast.  His wife...

Plain Promise a CBD Bestseller!

A reader emailed me saying how much she enjoyed Plain Promise, and I still don't have my copies yet!  And, since I'm in the country, I can't run to a bookstore and see it on the shelf.  BUT, my copies should be here any day, and when they arrive, I will be giving one away on this site - at least one!

Thanks to everyone who pre-ordered Plain Promise and put it on the CBD bestseller list before it even released.  To read the first few early reviews, go to www.christianbook.com.

Plain Perfect Now in Dutch!

Hi Everyone!

Sorry it's been so long since I posted on this blog.  I was finishing up Plain Paradise, book #4 in the Daughters of the Promise series, and just turned it in this past Monday.  Yay!  Always feels good to finish.  That was my fourth full-length novel in the past two years, plus I've finished two novellas.  So, I gave myself the week off.  Enjoyed spending time with my boys over Labor Day weekend.  Hope everyone enjoyed the holiday!

Award-winning author, Lena Nelson Dooley, did a gr...

Winner of An Amish Christmas!

Thanks to everyone who submitted a synopsis about what could have happened with the anonymous letter on the bridge (see past posts to catch up).  I loved reading them.  And while we may never know what happened to the writer or recipient of the letter, it's always fun to speculate.  Prior to this contest, I incorporated a covered bridge into my current work in progress, Plain Paradise.  But you'll have to wait to read it!

So many great entries to choose from - so I narrowed it down to three ...

Anonymous Letter on the Bridge - Vote for Synopsis!

A few weeks ago, I found an anonymous letter on a very cool bridge by my house.  I offered everyone a chance to write a synopsis speculating about this letter.  The winner will receive a first edition, signed copy of An Amish Christmas, which releases next week.

If you haven't been following the story, I invite you to go back and read prior posts.  It's been great fun.  I never heard from the person who wrote the letter, but I'd like to keep the rest of the note private...just in case.

The c...

Lilly the Deer

I saw my first deer on our property at our new house last week.  I couldn't believe it when she (who I've now named Lilly) let me hand-feed and pet her.  Then a couple of days later she came back with her baby.  Too cute!

This weekend, my best friend, Renee' came for a visit to help us celebrate my oldest son's 25th birthday.  I was hoping Lilly would show up because Renee' is the ultimate animal lover.  Lilly didn't disappoint us.

I am loving the stories about the anonymous letter on the b...
