Day 3: DOUBLESIGHT Book Tour

Nice review from R.A. Sears over at The Ragnarok Legacy for my third day on the Goddess Fish Promotions tour.
"Absolutely loved this one! A great fantasy novel with an interesting take on #shapeshifters. I like that the main character is a crow shifter, rather than the overdone werewolf/feline type. Filled with the ever-present clash between humans and doublesight (shifters), this is a must-read for any lovers of the #fantasy genre."

Get to Know Space Opera
A sub-genre of science fiction, space opera can be considered almost any storyline that happens in space. It is debatable, as any genre, but I like to think of it as where outer space (the solar system, galaxy, or universe) is the playground and where big ideas come to play. If you want to get to know this sub-genre better, here are some of my favorite space opera authors, and one or two of their titles:
Greg Bear --
Hull Zero Three
and
Anvil of Stars
Greg Bear has been writing fantastic science fiction for years. I’m reading Hull Zero Three at the moment and can’t put it down. I recommend any of his titles.
Isaac Asimov – Foundation and The Gods Themselves
Classic science fiction readers all know Asimov’s Foundation trilogy. I believe these books will be read for years and years to come.
Ray Bradbury -- The Martian Chronicles and The Galaxy Project I could recommend so many Bradbury books that aren’t science fiction that I sometimes forget about the wonderful sci-fi novels he’s written. This is great writing.
Andre Norton –
Sargasso of Space
and
Star Flight
I grew up reading Andre Norton one book after another. There are some great original ideas here and you can’t go wrong with that.
E.E. “Doc” Smith -- The Lensman Series
My brother made me read these books as a teenager. They are the original Star Wars type books and are still some of the best space opera around.
John Ringo -- Eye of the Storm and Citadel
Ringo’s books have a military basis and are great for those of you who love reading about special forces. If you’re just getting into the space opera genre, these books are fast paced, quick reads.
Orson Scott Card –
Ender’s Game
Need I say more? Not only did I read this book when I was young, my daughter read it as well. This is one of those books (with the movie coming out soon) that will be with us for a long time.
Terry Persun – Hear No Evil
Yeah, I put my book in here, too. You can tell by the retro cover that I’m reaching back to my youth to write and publish something that I grew up on, something that I love to read. I hope you enjoy it, too.

Killjoy Excerpt
Meet Garth Killjoy
Garth is presently in charge of the Intergalactic Peace Force for his sector, but he has a secret past he’s running from. What’s worse is that he also has access to something that could easily give him more power than he’s ever had…
Garth looked as though he enjoyed the power he had over James. He stood and waited, saying nothing, his eyes narrowing into slits.
James wanted to swing around and run from the room. He couldn’t read Garth and had no idea where the conversation was headed. “We’re looking into Jacobs, too. But being so far remote in the galaxy, it may take quite a while to learn the truth.” He took a breath. It felt as though he hadn’t breathed for minutes. “But he’s dead anyway. I’m sure of it.”
Garth spoke. “You did the right thing. You took things into your own hands and covered your tracks. I like that.”
James’ face and shoulders relaxed. “Thank you, sir.”
“We have to take control of C-47 before Earth Central can stop us. We’ll become part of their Independence Agreement and own those aliens down there one hundred percent,” Garth said.
“If I may, sir?”
“Absolutely, go on.”
“What if the aliens turn out to be no more intelligent than other classified animals we’ve run into? How do we know these things are the real deal and that the colony isn’t using us for their own ends, for firepower in case their independence is denied?” James crossed his arms and took a few steps farther into the room. “I’ve been a bit worried lately. We’ve gotten in pretty deep. We’ve done some things…”
Garth laughed out loud, frightening James enough for him to step back into his previous space. “Perfect. Let the colonists think there’s a possibility that they won’t gain their independence and need our help. They’re fools. You know Earth Central as well as I do. They don’t want control of the colonies anymore. They can’t afford to even cover this sector of the galaxy, let alone get involved in every damned colony that asks for help. Independence means that the colony is on its own. Through independence, the colony lets go of the Earth Central tit. And Earth Central saves trillions of dollars.” ###
