Answers to Your Questions about SOUL

My friend Carl Bozeman (@CarlBozeman on Twitter) asked me a couple of questions that I thought you might like to hear the answer to them:

What is our “soul,” how do you discover it and how do you integrate it with the human experience?

 The Soul is the spiritual essence within your physical form. It is eternal, unlimited, and connected to Infinite Intelligence. It knows who we are, why we are here, and where we are going. The Greek origin for the word psychic means ‘of the soul,’ which is exactly what you want—information from your spiritual essence. Soul is the perfect expression of the Divine essence of God, the eternal aspect of you, and your Soul knows that while you are here making a HOME (heaven on mother earth), it is on a chosen mission.

The great philosopher, Plato believed that the Soul of man was eternal, pre-existent, and wholly spiritual.

Many who believe in reincarnation believe that our life not only purifies the soul, but the purification comes through opportunities to learn if the Soul is willing. Unfortunately, many people let the challenges of life bring them down rather than embracing them as the curriculum they were intended to be. They ignore these lessons for personal growth and walk through the world wounded, sending out lower vibrations. Wounds and unhealed trauma can take you away from your path of Destiny if you fall into victim mentality.

The irony is that when these same wounds and disappointments are seen as sacred gifts and are integrated with acceptance, they will lead you directly to your Destiny.  Learning to let your Soul guide you is what the Destiny Discovery is all about.

What kinds of things get in the way of our connection to “soul” and, as you refer to it, our “soul’s purpose?

I would love to tell you that the path to Destiny is a straight shot with very few detours or times of anxiousness, but that would not be giving you the information you need to succeed. In the book, I discuss eight “deadly D’s to watch out for. Let’s start at one of the most common, that being “detours.” One way to tell if you are blocking your Divine Destiny is when you keep running into experiences that hurt a bit too much and then call it fate. You may even hear yourself saying “this always happens to me.”

Well, the reason it keeps happening is that you have not yet mastered the lesson that life is offering to you. When we fail to listen to our inner guidance, then we often miss important signposts that will lead us more easily and quickly to the Destiny that is waiting for us. As long as you are awake and aware of synchronicities, you will see invitations to take new roads that lead to people and opportunities that can guide you. Luckily, there are physical and symbolic signs all around. For example, when I was living in Atlanta, Georgia and was thinking of moving to Texas, I started to hear dozens of Texas related ‘signs’ such as license plates, conversations, songs, etc.

I did make the move, as it was part of my Destiny to be Texan, but, of course, I had to choose it. When you are oblivious to the signs around you it’s a bit more painful. And when you are unwilling to see what your Soul is trying to show you, you fall back into “default mode” which looks like the same experiences over and over again.

How to get Into Sync with Your Destiny Today

Destiny is one of those big concepts, one that can intimidate or overwhelm even the most spiritual person.   If you are like many, you may feel confused or uncertain as to how to achieve the Destiny that is meant for you.  

As a visionary thinker, I definitely enjoy pondering questions such as the existential ones, Who am I? Why am I here?  How can I help?  The challenge is that these questions rarely find a satisfactory conclusion, which keeps us constantly searching but never finding.   And we never get to feel as if we are making real progress!

Recently, I have come to enjoy experiencing ” everyday destiny”, because this reminds me that it is what I choose today that matters most, and this keeps me living in the precious moment of NOW.  

I would like to share with you 5 questions to help you get in sync with the Destiny that is yours to fulfill just for Today.

Ask  yourself

1:  “What is my cause for concern?”

2.  “What is the purpose that is in my heart regarding this concern?”

3.  “What is my inspired plan?”

4.  “Who can support me in getting into action with this?”

5.  “What action(s) will I take today to make forward movement?”

Affirm:  I trust the guidance of my heart today.

These simple questions can chart your day and give you an instant feeling of success around “achieving your Destiny.” Another way to tap into your inner guidance is by taking time to listen to the still small voice, known as your intuition.  When we follow our intuition, we often experience synchronicity, events that arrange themselves for our highest good.  

The famous spiritual teacher and prolific author, Deepak Chopra talks about coincidences and how they can guide us to our Destiny. Chopra recommends taking five minutes every day to  just sit in silence. In that time, put these questions to your attention and heart: “Who am I? What do I want for my life? What do I want from my life today?” Then let go, and let your stream of consciousness, your quieter inner voice, supply the answers. Then, after five minutes, write them down. Do this every day and you’ll be surprised at how situations, circumstances, events, and people will orchestrate themselves around the answers. 

When you get in the  habit of connecting with your inner guidance every day, you learn how to live in that amazing connected energy that magnetizes  just the right people and circumstances.  Being in relationship with your Soul and taking the daily steps in the right direction is how you synchronize and align with your greater Destiny.

Get Your Ego on Board to Fulfill Your Soul’s Purpose

When it comes to living a life of purpose and destiny, it requires ALL of you. Unfortunately, there can be an inner saboteur that gets in the way of you really taking a risk to stand out and shine.

What I found from working with thousands of people is that it is essential to get into right relationship with your ego and your soul.

If you are not addressing the needs, concerns, and fears of the ego you will never live your Soul Purpose because the ego will attempt to trip you at every step of the way.

To live you Soul Purpose, you will be asked to take a leap of faith. And if you don’t have your ego on board with your decision, you will never have the strength, courage, commitment, and determination to take that leap.

Purpose gives your life meaning and sense of direction; it is the organizing principle for creating the life of your dreams.

Imagine it as your internal compass; it will guide you to your true destination (DESTINY).

Purpose is the thing in your that you stand for. It inspires you and drives you. Purpose helps you imagine your future because it focuses your mind on what is most important.  So, here’s the first step in getting into right relationship with your ego so that you can begin to seek your Soul Purpose.

1. Write down a list of all of the reasons, concerns, and fears you have for why you should not go after your Soul Purpose.

Be thorough here. It’s important that you write down every one.

2. For each reason, concern, and fear, write down the condition that needs to be satisfied in order for your ego to go along

with living your Soul Purpose.

Example of some Fears:

I won’t make enough money.

I don’t have what it takes.

Condition:

I need to earn a minimum of $3500 per month by November 2012.

I need to feel good about myself and like I am making a difference.

As new fears come up, write them down and list the condition for that fear. As long as you are able to meet the conditions, then your ego will be on-board with your direction.

Remember: You can’t do this without your ego. If you don’t know what your Soul Purpose is, your ego will block all communications with your Soul (so that you can discover your purpose) unless you’ve addressed your ego’s fear.

You ego will constantly tell you “I am not” when your soul knows that I AM.

When you learn to integrate your limited self (ego) with your greater self (soul), you will be well on your way to enjoying your greatest life! When you discover and live your Soul Purpose, your entire life will become magical and “soul-satisfying”.

Get Your Life on the Right Track!

You may have read from my life how I have had some pretty interesting experiences while driving my car, such as three totaled cars and some really close calls.

The car is a great metaphor for life, when it is tuned up, taken care of, and give the right fuel, it can literally take you anywhere you want to go.



The challenge comes if we neglect it in anyway, then we can find ourselves stranded, parked or like, me “wrecked.” Then it can feel like Life is running us over with challenges, pain, and  disappointments.

Where Are You Headed?

Just like a car that is designed to move and travel, you are the vehicle for how your life is designed. 

When we travel on cruise control, aka autopilot, the events of our lives flash by like white lines on the freeway, without learning our soul’s lessons. Until we wake up from our TRANCE, start paying attention, consciously learning, and listening to our inner gps system, we may end up somewhere we really don’t want to be.

The way I see and have experienced it, you can take yourself to heaven on earth or hell on earth.

Since YOU are so powerful, it makes sense how to take care of yourself, don’t ya think?

Pretend YOU are the vehicle that moves you around in this life.

YOU have everything you need to have a fabulously fun and fulfilling adventure.

You have the master key—your soul which has your best interests at heart.

When you listen to your soul’s song, the music is all the comfort you will need during those dark nights of feeling lost and confused.

Your mind is the receiving unit that directs your actions or non-actions.

When you let the divine supply you with higher quality thought energy, everything brightens and your road becomes clearly lit with plenty of signs, symbols, and synchronicities.

Arrive on Time When Your Soul is in Charge

Your soul knows who you are, why you are here, where you are going and will get you to your destination right on schedule; that is, as long as your soul is in the “driver’s seat.”

When the ego is driving, you will end up in all kinds of detours, dead-ends and disappointing ‘ego trips.’

Your intuition is your personal gps system that will guide you in the right direction when you pay attention to it.

Beliefs, emotions, and decisions are aspects that make up your engine, and what creates your reality in this world.

Nurturance and support is like fuel to a car engine…it fills you up so you can tap into your source energy and act on what you already know deep down inside.

Remember the scientist from Back to the Future, and his famous flux capacitor?!

That invention worked because he had the right car, equipment, and set of beliefs that caused a collapse in time and space where travel became possible. How did he know it would work? I believe he was being guided by the Divine (since most creative types are tapped into a higher source.)

And You Are Smart Enough to Have a Map and a Guide

As your coach, I am the conduit (or flux capacitor, if you will) between the Divine, YOU, and unlimited possibilities. Our trinity of energy gets activated, your perception shifts and you realize that anything is truly possible, and that is when miracles begin to manifest easily and effortlessly!

The Happiness Declaration :)

Success and Happiness is a feeling every human being on this planet desires in their heart of hearts. And yet most of us look for happiness in all the wrong places and end up causing ourselves more suffering.

This is because we are looking outside of ourselves for some thing or some one to bring us that feeling.

Rumi once said, We go from room to room looking for the diamond necklace around our neck.

So it is when we search “everywhere” for happiness, we never see where it really is, which is with us all along.

I think we all would agree that Happiness does not depend on material things, such as driving a certain car or holding a prestigious title. (although those things can add pleasure to your life).

Happiness does not depend on other people, like whether you have a significant other or not.

(although having loving and supportive people around adds to your enjoyment)

Happiness does not depend on what happens, so if you stay, it will be good and if you go, it will be good.

Happiness is not to be found anywhere in the external world.

The main obstacle to happiness is faulty thinking. For instance thinking, someone or some thing can make you happy. Beware also of what A Course in Miracles calls, “elusive happiness, which is happiness that changes and shifts with times and places. ACIM says this kind of happiness is an illusion and has no meaning!”.

So where does one find happiness?

Stop looking outside for what can only be found inside.

And make a decision to be happy.

Let me repeat that:

Happiness DOES Depend on your decision to be happy.

So, consider this, have you ever made a conscious decision to be happy?

My guess is No.

The basis of this self-help book is a mixture of a belief in, or relationship with, a God or Spirit and

oneself. The introduction entitled ‘from the author’ explains and clarifies the wording used in

describing these principles so they can be interchanged by people who believe in either concept, and

the reader is invited to ‘use the words that resonate for you’. As a result, both religious and spiritual

people will find this book comfortable to read.

While ‘The Destiny Discovery’ is based upon a firm belief of a Divine Being the creator of all that is,

Michelle advocates that fulfilling ones destiny is based upon a partnership with our maker. The book

dispels the notion that what happens to us is preordained, but that we are able to take control and

determine our future in a ‘co-creative’ manner. Therefore, personal growth has to be combined with

spiritual growth and guidance if we are to achieve our full potential.

In practical terms, Michelle advocates there are four stages of consciousness on the journey to

Over a hundred pages of this book explain the ‘Destiny Discovery Process’ of Awakening, Awareness,

Acceptance, Articulation, Action, and Allowance. These stages are explained in detail together

with journal entries, self-coaching exercises, affirmations and enlightenment. Briefly, this process

is dependent on the ability to accept personal change and remove past pre-programmed and

subconscious ways of doings things that lead to the same old result. Learning new ways to overcome

life’s difficulties and achieve ones destiny is based upon liberation, identifying purpose and meaning,

empowerment and action with guidance to help you stay or get back on your true path to oneness.

The book is easy and enjoyable reading; all the concepts and processes are fully explained and easy

to understand. The book as a life coaching process is itself well laid out and a logical progression that

links spiritual and personal growth from start to finish helping us develop what could be described as

spiritual intelligence. It strikes a balance between going for our dreams but at the same time is well

grounded in dealing with reality and the stresses of everyday life, moreover, once on track it helps

you to go with the flow and ultimately succeed in life with ease.

The book is based upon Michelle’s personal experience and how this method has worked for her, so

if your life feels like a car crash then this book is definitely for you! Highly recommended.
