Kinda sorta NaNoWriMo update day 4

I’m off to soak up a little television. I am now 12 words ahead of the curve, and that’s with an extra freelance workload today. I’m not complaining.

Kinda sorta NaNoWriMo update day 3

This was a tough day to stay motivated. But, duty calls, and a pledge is a pledge. Still seven words ahead of the curve.

Post one of my kinda sorta NaNoWriMo effort

Here we go!  November is National Novel Writing Month here in the Americas… and the Englands… and the Europes… And the Spains… etc. And, I, your’s truly, will be kinda sorta participating.  The book I will be writing is Fire and Forget Soldier, the true story of Lee Deckelman.  So right off the bat it doesn’t qualify for official inclusion into the novel writing event because it’s not a novel.  I’ve also already written 12,000 words, and I believe NaNoWriMo rules state that you can’t have contributed anything to the actual content of the book before the start of the writing marathon.  I’m simply doing this to keep me honest and on task.  If I make a spectacle of myself by making my intentions known in a very public way, I’m more likely to follow through so as to not look like a fraud.  My plans are to write 1,680 words a day for the entire month to reach the goal of 50,000 words.  And, at EOD, I will post my progress right here on this very blog.  Lucky you.

As word turd Spock indicates below, we start at zero.  Wish me luck!

The Takers: The Tenth Anniversary Reimagined Edition is live!

The time is past nigh! It’s here! Time to get reading.  BTW – One of the big changes is the Taker Queen.  Sleeker, meaner, more cunning. She’s not to be trifled with.

Halloween means a new Taker Queen!

Musical Countdown Wednesday – The Takers: The Tenth Anniversary Reimagined Edition

More Pink Floyd today. It’s David Gilmour doing an acoustic version of Wish You Were Here. This is Oz’s song. The Takers; The Tenth Anniversary Reimagined Edition will be available for download on Halloween, but you can trick-or-treat worry-free by pre-ordering today.  I’m so running out of clever ways to make this announcement.  Oy!

Another week another musical countdown – The Takers: The Tenth Anniversary Reimagined Edition

Last week was all about C. Hoyt Caldwell.  This week the focus turns to a familiar character in a familiar setting featuring a few new twists.  The Takers: The Tenth Anniversary Reimagined Edition will be available to read on Kindle this Friday. That’s right.  Oct. 31. Halloween. Take that JK Rowling!  Pink Floyd was and always will be the primary musical influence behind the Oz experience for me, but if you have any suggestions this week let me know, and I’ll include it in the countdown.

Today I give you Comfortably Numb by the aforementioned Pink Floyd.  And remember you can pre-order the book today!

A special thank you to The Closeout Kings beta readers

Kenny update

A beta readers shout out!

This is from the last page of The Closeout Kings.

I had the incredible good fortune of having 22 wonderful beta readers volunteer their valuable time to read an early draft of The Closeout Kings.  If not for their insightful and constructive feedback, I would have published a far inferior version of the story.   To those beta readers, I cannot thank you enough.  Your commitment, advice and encouragement made the long process of writing a novel even more fulfilling and fruitful.

Thank you, one and all!
