Book Tackles Bullying in a Positive Way

Dancing Lemur Press/Freedom Fox Press is proud to announce its latest release!
And since Beverly will be unable to do any physical events to promote the book this month, we are in need of assistance. If you can post on your blog, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, etc., please help her out. This is an incredibly tough time for an authors book to come out and I know this community will rally and support Beverly.

The Insecure Writer’s Support Group and Office Photos

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question: Other than the obvious holiday traditions, have you ever included any personal or family traditions/customs in your stories?

With the exception of the book I’m working on now, my fiction books were written so long ago, I really don’t remember. I probably had characters opening gifts on Christmas Eve instead of all on Christmas Day, which is what my family always...

Nothing New Under the Sun by Tara Tyler

Taking Back Beast World, Phase 2. Disney/Pixar's Onward comes out Mar 6 with a setting eerily close to BEAST WORLD. It's time to speak out again--in a positive way!
Diane is a hard worker and a wonderful promoter of books -- not to mention a busy publisher! I don't know how she does it all! Thanks for having me today, Diane.

NOTHING NEW UNDER THE SUN
by Tara Tyler

Seriously. Every story has been written, over and over again throughout the ages. Yet millions of books and movies are produced...

The Insecure Writer's Support Group and Upcoming Releases

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question: Has a single photo or work of art ever inspired a story? What was it and did you finish it?

I can’t think of a single image or piece of art that inspired me. 99% of my fiction writing comes from dreams. I dream a scene, I form a story around it.

However, once I have a story idea and an outline, I do rely on visuals. I have Pinterest boards for several of my books...

The Insecure Writer's Support Group - #IWSGPit and Cover of Voyagers

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question:
What started you on your writing journey? Was it a particular book, movie, story, or series? Was it a teacher/coach/spouse/friend/parent? Did you just "know" suddenly you wanted to write?

I was 13 years old. My aunt took me to a bookstore to pick out a book. I picked up Anne McCaffrey’s The White Dragon, just released in paperback. I knew at that moment I wanted...

The Insecure Writer's Support Group, December Special, & Trans Siberian Orchestra

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question:
Let's play a game. Imagine. Role-play. How would you describe your future writer self, your life and what it looks and feels like if you were living the dream? Or if you are already there, what does it look and feel like? Tell the rest of us. What would you change or improve?

I wouldn’t say I’m living the dream, but if I went back 20 years and told a younger me...

Favorite Holiday Memory

Hosted by Chrys Fey

Blog Hop Question: What is your favorite holiday memory?
(This includes Hanukkah, Kwanza, Yule/Winter Solstice, Christmas, etc.)

My Memory:

Going back to pick out one specific memory was difficult. Most of the ones at home with my husband and cats have been wonderful.

I can’t remember the exact year this was taken, but Hobbes was still with us.

I miss her – my Hobbes, the “Monkey.” Her sister Calvin (yes, Calvin & Hobbes) was the “Weasel”, and yes, the...

The Insecure Writer's Support Group and Music Boxes on Audio

It’s time for another edition of The Insecure Writer’s Support Group, founded by Ninja Captain, Alex J. Cavanaugh.

Today’s question:
What's the strangest thing you've ever googled in researching a story?

I really can’t think of anything strange. I’ve had to research several sports and locations. I researched a ton of items for my two non-fiction books.

Probably what other people would think was a strange thing for me to research was pregnancy and childbirth. (I actually sat down with a friend rather than Goo...
