IWSG Wednesday

The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Members post about their doubts and fears, discuss struggles and triumphs, and offer words of encouragement to others who are struggling.
April 4 question - When your writing life is a bit cloudy or filled with rain, what do you do to dig down and keep on writing? This question really hits home, as it no doubt does for most authors. I can go from a glass half-full to a glass half-empty in the drop of a sale. Finding balance is tough. We all need goals, something to strive toward. But when those goals aren't reached it feels like failure. So we step back. Maybe we take in a movie, read a good book or take a few days off. All we can do is lick our wounds (just a figure of speech:), take a deep breath, grow our writing and try again. In the words of the immortal Scarlett O'Hara tomorrow is another day.

This That And No! Really?
THIS....
I've been sending hints to my daughter to paint this photograph that I took of a ceramic pitcher that she made and the pepper that I grew. Wouldn't it make a great painting for the kitchen? I framed it to give you a feel for what it would look like.
THAT....
I decided to add some blue to my tulip bed. The newbies are phlox and love full sun. They should do fine this spring but when summer arrives so will shade from the butterfly bush. Toes-crossed they'll survive and thrive. Though I'll settle for just survive:)
AND...
I found this little nest in one of the bushes by the garden. Thank goodness the parents-to-be realized this wasn't a safe neighborhood to bring little ones into and moved out before they started a family.
NO! REALLY?
As most of you know, our fence is set up to keep the cats inside. Let me just say this is not our cat. Apparently, besides keeping our cats in, it keeps other cats out. I'm still not sure how he got up there. After whining pitifully for a few minutes about his predicament he did jump down. With that paw on the rail it looks like he's posing doesn't it?

Garden Deco

A friend of mine makes them. It's her version of decluttering or 'cleaning out the cabinets'. She takes dishes, bowls, ceramics, candle holders, etc. that she no longer uses and converts them to yard ornaments. Pretty cool, huh?
Happy second day of April.
