The Doctor is Everywhere! (CONTEST ALERT)

I’m pleased to announce that my naughty little BDSM elements novella is finally available at all third party sites, including Amazon! Anyone who has been waiting to get it in Kindle format you are now free to do so. Yay!

To celebrate, I thought I’d give away two copies of Pleasing the Doctor to two lucky commenter.(I’ll be posting about this again at the Down Under Divas on Tuesday, so if you comment either here or there on Tuesday, you’ll go in the draw)

So what is Pleasing the Doctor about? Alice is a divorcee who hasn’t had sex since she left her husband, and figures a no strings one night stand is in order to get her back in the sexual race. Too bad her blind date is a total dud. Enter Dr Damien De Luca, a doctor from out of town (or so she thinks) who chases off her bad date and proceeds to take her on a kinky journey that shows her the submissive side of herself.

But can a woman who had to fight hard for independence really get into a relationship with a guy who expects obedience?

I think Alice is going to have fun finding out, don’t you? :)

Pleasing the Doctor is now available at Ellora’s Cave, Booktopia, Barnes & Noble, ARe, Amazon or your favourite e book retailer.

Below are five of my favourite snippets from the book. Vote for the best  in the comments for your chance to win one of two copies of the book:

1. Heat spiraled inside her, expanding like a phoenix that rose, wings stretching, from the ashes of her once healthy sexual appetite. Flames flickered to life, fanned by the weight of Damien’s hand resting on her thigh. On top of the dress, not under it like Ron, yet it seemed so, so much more intimate.

2.  She didn’t even want to imagine how Damien De Luca would behave if he wasn’t holding back.

That was a lie. She did want to, was already imagining it in fact. He was the take-charge type. If they were alone he’d have her pinned to the wall by now, his mouth on hers, his hands… Her breathing quickened as she pictured all the places she’d be willing to let him put his hands. Basically everywhere. And his tongue—his impossibly arrogant, clever tongue. She wanted that everywhere too.

Her nether regions throbbed, a hard pulse of base lust. She was hot for him. A complete stranger who’d barely touched her and she was fired up like a race car that had been held back in the pit too long.

3.  Still without looking at him, Alice gathered her evening bag from where she’d hooked it over the back of the barstool and stood. “Well, that was…” She had no words, something that would have shocked her ex-husband Cal. He always told her she talked everything to death, that it took all the fun out of things. Not so boring now, am I, Cal? Boring people didn’t let strangers finger them in public. She was pretty sure it was against the boring person code.

4.  “It’s been over a year, so forgive me if I don’t know what the hell I’m doing.”

Damien loosened his grip on her, gave her a little space. “You want me to be gentle with you?”

“God, no.” Alice struggled not to blush again as Damien laughed at her blurted response.

He released her entirely and stepped back, eyeing her as though seeing her for the first time. “You know, I think I really like you.”

Alice shrugged, using humor to pretend she wasn’t warmed by the declaration as she followed him farther into the room. “You’re quite lickable yourself.”

He cocked a brow at her intentional mispronunciation. “Tell you what, I’ll let you lick anything you want…if you take off your dress.”

5.  “Don’t be scared. I got carried away but I can slow down if you need me to. It’s hard because you’re so sexy. And so beautifully submissive.” He angled her head back so he could look at her. “You had no idea, did you?”

Alice’s lips trembled. Her voice did too. “I h-have a good job. I’m a team leader at a bank. I have my own money. I left a marriage that didn’t make me happy.” Realizing her cheeks were wet, Alice hid her face in his shoulder once again. “I’m not weak,” she finished, ignoring the fact that physically, right now, she was just that. Weak and tremulous and needy.

“I know you’re not. You’re strong—strong enough for me.”

So what do you think? Let me know!

Pleasing the Doctor Now Available

Pleasing the Doctor is now available for purchase from the Ellora’s Cave website

I’ve posted about this over at International Heat and the Down Under Divas, so what I’ll do here is simply repost my favorite inspiration for my book’s character, Damien De Luca

Because, you know, why not?

I’d love you to check out Pleasing the Doctor if you get a chance. I had enormous fun writing the naughty little novella, and I’m confident you’d have fun reading it too. And picturing Ryan Gosling when you do :) .

Pleasing the Doctor

It’s been a year since Alice’s divorce—and since her lady parts have gotten any up-close-and-personal action from anyone other than herself. When she meets Damien and he invites her back to his hotel room, she decides to be wild and brave for a change. After all, it’s just one night. His card says he’s an out-of-town doctor—it’s the perfect chance for her to explore some of her deepest desires without having to worry about after-sex embarrassment.

Except…Damien isn’t an out-of-towner at all. He’s just moved to the area and knows, as soon as he sees Alice, that he can give her the kind of pleasure she secretly craves. The kind of pleasure that comes from a good spanking and some leather bindings. Convincing Alice to give in to her cravings isn’t a problem—convincing her to stay once the sun comes up is the real challenge.

Inside Scoop: The heroine explores her naughty-but-nice side in this romance with BDSM elements.

Cheers,

Sami

Your Invitation to an Exclusive Wedding is Here

Yes, Tropical Haze, the print anthology that includes 3 hot novellas (one from me, one from Lexxie Couper and one from Jess Dee) is now available at your favourite online bookstore.

Afternoon Rhapsody by Jess Dee As Bianca puts her pending divorce aside to enjoy her brother’s wedding, she unexpectedly falls in lust with Brody, a gorgeous man who’s also getting a divorce. However, personal revelations change what they thought they knew about their troubled pasts. And suddenly they wonder if it’s possible to move on.

Sunset Heat by Lexxie Couper Kennedy never thought she’d see Luke again, much less be standing in front of him naked. Not only does he still light her fire, but so does his rake of a cousin.Luke fell for Kennedy months ago, yet he can’t stop thinking about sharing her with Addison. And Addison is shocked that he wants to know Kennedy on all levels—even the emotional kind. But desire this hot could destroy any hope of real happiness.

Moonlight Mirage by Sami Lee At her friend’s wedding, Hayley is forced to face the former boss whose rejection sent her packing. Mitch still makes her burn. Trouble is, she already has a date. Mitch knows pushing his former intern away was a mistake. Hayley’s “plus one” is an unexpected obstacle. Luckily, Mitch has never shied away from a little competition…

Each of these titles is still available as an ebook, but they can now be purchased in one wicked print volume as well. Try Booktopia, The Book Depository, Amazon or Samhain.

Cheers,

Sami

A Great Review

I discovered this great B+ review for Erica’s Choice over at Red Hot Books. Here’s just a few snippets:

“Lee’s brilliant usage of dialogue worked to  not only move this story along, but also to provide just enough kink to entertain  the average gal”

(emphasis on brilliant is entirely my own :) ).

And this:

“I found this book as I was looking for a story that would capture my interest  without any flash and this one did the trick. It’s a simple story of three  people who choose to be in a relationship. There’s no grand design with hidden  agendas (other than some hot sex and sweaty bodies) and complicated storylines,  instead it’s a story of falling in love and the angst and heartache that finding  your forever-after entails. I found myself drawn to and rooting for each of them  for different reasons. Lee does a remarkable job of finding and conveying the  strengths and insecurities of her characters.”

Oops, did I bold the word remarkable now? What is wrong with this keyboard…

Thanks so much to Shelly at Red Hot Books. You can visit their site to read the full review here.

The Story Behind the Story — Screaming Orgasm

Well, if that title didn’t get your attention, nothing will :) .

Today I have with me the super talented, all round fun chick, Mari Carr. I want to know how a story called Screaming Orgasm came about. Don’t you?

So, Screaming Orgasm. Is this book named after the cocktail or… something else?

Actually…it’s both.  Oooo…here…I’ll share a little snippet from the story to prove my point.

She raised the glass with caution and sniffed at it. Elias’ face proved he was amused by her reticence.

“Trust me,” he said.

It was all she needed to hear. She took a drink. The liquor was smooth and creamy and quickly erased the lingering foul taste of the Scotch. “Delicious. What’s it called?”

Elias took a step toward her. Jayne’s breath caught. They’d never been so close—or alone. “Screaming Orgasm.”

She swallowed. Because of his nearness, Jayne was forced to look up. She’d known he was tall, but she’d never realized how great the difference in their heights until now. He topped her short, five-foot-four frame by at least half a foot, maybe more.

Yet another disparity between them. Another roadblock. Elias was forty-three to her thirty. While her friends perceived that age difference as too great, Jayne wasn’t sure she agreed.

“Screaming Orgasm.” She gave him a sad smile. “Never had one of those before.” There was a double meaning behind her response. In the past, she never would have made such a revealing remark, but tonight, she felt too weary to shield her words.

His eyes narrowed slightly and she flushed.

Shit. Way to go too far, Jayne.

“I mean—”

“I know what you mean, Jayne.”

Oh boy, does he know what she means. And don’t worry. Elias makes sure Jayne screams.

This is part of a series, which looks awesome BTW. How did you come up with the concept for these books?

Not sure most people realize this, but I’m rather fond of the occasional beer or glass of wine or cocktail! I had just finished writing the Wild Irish series and I needed to come up with a new project for Ellora’s Cave. I was playing around with ideas as I was partaking of an evening cocktail (I think it was bourbon and Diet Coke). I thought an erotic romance series called Cocktales could be pretty funny. Then I started thinking of different drink titles–Screwdriver and Screaming Orgasm came to me immediately! After that, it all fell into place. I did some research online and found other cocktail recipes called Party Naked and Bachelor’s Bait–again–both were perfect book titles.

Another reason I decided to go with the drink series was because I have long had a dream business! My girlfriend and I used to joke we’d quit our day jobs and open up a combination bookstore/bar called Books and Brew. Some folks like coffee shops with their reading. As for me, give me a comfy chair, a nice glass of wine and a romance novel and my life is pretty much complete! Sadly…I still have the day job, so I opened my dream store up…fictionally.

Are there anymore in the series or is this the last?

Sob. This is the last. I’m always wicked sad when a series comes to an end. It’s so hard to say goodbye to the characters. Because they appear in more than just one book, I become far too attached to the series characters. But…alas…there were just four Books and Brew babes and they’ve all had their stories told now.

Besides contemporary erotic, are there any other romance sub genres you write in?

Actually…not really. Damn… I’m a one pony show, aren’t I? The only departures from erotic romance for me are the June Girls books. They were the very first books I ever wrote…way back when I wanted to be a Regency Romance writer. That aspiration was brief. It came to a very abrupt halt after I found Lora Leigh and thought Holy Crap. This is what I want to write! Nothing has ever changed my mind about that.

You’re a pretty big deal in erotic romance e publishing (oh, yes you are girlfriend). Do you have any advice for new authors starting out?

Snort! Big deal. (Nicely played, Sami. I’ll give you the money I owe you for that later—hee hee). As for advice…I think it’s simply to never give up. If you’ve always felt like there was a story inside you and writing a book is one of those things that’s always lurked in the back of your mind, then yes, chances are very good, you’re a writer. Sit down and get the words out. I started writing stories for stress relief. And that was all. Never imagined I’d ever get paid to do something I love so much, but I’m so, so grateful every single day that I followed my heart.

Screaming Orgasm–The Blurb

Cocktales, Book Four

Jayne Kent has watched her best friends and business partners fall in love while romance continues to pass her by. When Books and Brew regular Elias Clark offers her a Screaming Orgasm, she wishes it was the sexual variety rather than a lousy drink. She’s been lusting after Elias forever and suspects he could bring all her naughty, kinky fantasies to life.

Elias has resisted his attraction to Jayne for years, assuming his dominance in the bedroom would send sweet, romantic Jayne running for the hills. Or would it? Alone in a snowstorm, Elias tests the waters and is blown away by Jayne’s innate submissiveness and eagerness to stretch her boundaries. Ice play? Bondage? Flogging? Bring it on.

Soon it’s no longer a question of whether or not Elias should pursue Jayne, even if she’s not sure she’s brave enough to submit to him forever. She’s made for him, and this determined alpha male will stop at nothing until he’s claimed her—completely.

The Story Behind the Story — Special Edition

Today I have a super special guest here to tell us the story behind her latest release, More Than Friends. This fantastic book released today and is now available at Samhain Publishing (check for buy links at the bottom of the post). So without further ado, take it away Jess Dee!

Jess, where were you when the idea for More Than Friends popped into your head?

Lying in bed, late at night, thinking about a guy I’d known a very long time ago.

How long did MTF take you to write, from concept to completion?

Including the weekend? Eight days. Quickest book I’ve ever written. But then I’d been going through a terrible case of writer’s block and hadn’t written a usable word in five months. Once the idea for this book was there, I couldn’t get it written fast enough.

You’ve done a few friends to lovers themed books. What attracts you to this type of story?

Several things:

Firstly, I love the idea of falling in love with your best friend. It’s totally romantic. Your BFF knows you better than anyone. He’s already familiar with all your strengths and weaknesses. And if he can fall in love with you, warts and all, you know he’s in it for the long haul.

Secondly, using the theme makes it easy to draw on my own experiences when writing. And yes, More Than Friends is loosely based on personal experience. (The book just ends differently to the personal experience.)

Thirdly, when writing novellas, it always helps if the hero is the heroine’s friend. It gives the relationship a baseline from where it can grow and develop. There’s already trust and affection between the characters, now it’s just a matter of turning the affection to hot loving.

Is More Than Friends part of a series?

Funny you should ask…Yes. :)

More Than Friends is the first in a series of loosely related books called More Than… . The next two are More Than Lovers (releasing in Sep) and More Than Words (releasing in Nov).

What’s your favourite line of dialogue from the book?

You want me to choose just one? Meanie.

Okay, how about this one:

“Oh, no, babe. You don’t get to blame me for that. In six years of knowing you, I never once thought about you with my dick. Then you changed the rules. You told me you were in love with me. Until then, our relationship was purely…cerebral. Platonic. I never had to think about you with my dick, because I never had reason to. But when a beautiful woman, whom I love madly, tells me I’m her every sexual fantasy, my dick wakes up and joins the party. Like it or not.”

More Than Friends: The Blurb

He was her best friend…until he became her fantasy.

A More Than story.

Lucy Lawson’s got it bad. Bad as in stunned speechless by the situation she’s in, by the feelings sitting on her chest, ready to explode. She’s in love…with her best friend.

Problem is, telling Sebastian Blackford could destroy the best thing in her life, but the longer she keeps her feelings under wraps, the stronger the need to spill her secret.

The last thing Seb suspects is that his best mate is madly, wildly in love with him, or that he’s the star of her seriously dirty fantasies. Worse, he’s just started seeing someone he’d like to see again–and Lucy knows it.

So why does her confession hit him like a runaway train? And why can’t he get her explicit description of her fantasies out of his mind? They’ve never been more than friends, but now that he knows how Lucy feels, everything is out of whack.

Seb figures it’s up to him to get their relationship back on track. He’ll do it too, just as soon as he establishes which track is the right one.

Warning: After reading this, you may just be tempted to jump your best friend. It’s recommended you keep your partner on speed dial or a toy with fresh batteries on standby.

More than friends is NOW AVAILABLE. You can buy your copy at Amazon, Samhain, Barnes & Noble or Kobo.
