#ProjectFlashPiction 1016: Day 1 to 7
I just want to share the story that I made for #ProjectFlashPiction.
What is ProjectFlashPiction?
Started in December 2015, #ProjectFlashPiction is an everyday writing project based on pictures. All stories here are posted as they were written—raw and unedited. I hope you enjoy these stories as I have enjoyed seeing them flash in my head. Thank you for reading!
Read all stories here: bit.ly/projectflashpiction
I based my story on MIBF2016 pictures. It is a great way to promote Indie Authors and their works.
Here is my #PFP1016 Story.
Day 1 to 7 . . .
I glance at my watch. It is almost 18 days before the #ALLTHEFEELS. If I can attend that, maybe I could meet my forever. Yes, I am not crazy. I am positive enough that I can meet my future Boyfriend there.
Books, books and more books . . . I budgetted for food and books. My money goes to you. I plan to get at least 10 books at the MIBF. I don’t know what books. Maybe go INDIE!
Currently, I am re-reading That Kind of Guy by Mina V. Esguerra. Well, I am fond of reading Filipino authored works. It is my way of preparing myself for my future lovelife with a hope that as what Mina said, “DELIRIOUSLY HAPPY!”
I saved 2,000 for the 37th Manila International Book Fair . Well, I still have book budget per month. Plus bank savings from my day job as a hotel’s food sculptor. Yes, I love art! I was supposed to be an architect. The love for books? I got it from one of my ninangs.
RISK! That’s what I will do. HeistClub Titles for the win! I am . . . or I will grab them all because of 3 reasons:
I love crime fiction as much as romance.
Filipino authors needs support.
I want to write and meet all the authors. But first let me do my job to finance my MIBF2016 adventure.
I want to go to MIBF on the first day of the event. Even if I want to be there, I still have work to do; curving each fruit and vegetable is a tough job. I have the whole Sunday to meet Mina and the entire romanceclass gang.
10 days to go . . .
The romance guru, Mina V. Esguerra, has posted books. I will surely get all of them. The reason for it is it was recommended by one of my FAVE authors. Yay! So, good luck wallet! You will be empty!

[REVIEW]: Kate, Finally by Yeyet Soriano
After six sizzling nights with hot IT consultant Layne Sto. Domingo, writer Kate Borromeo realizes she really sucks at love. She’s thirty-five, she just recently moved on from a destructive unrequited love situation with her longtime love and best friend, only to end up in bed with someone who isn’t going to give her what she wants.
So when gorgeous corporate finance wiz Rob Salcedo, Kate’s first love and best friend, turns over a new leaf and finally proposes marriage to her, promising to make up for all the hurt he caused her, Kate accepts and prepares for the wedding of her dreams.
But when Layne waltzes back into her life, seemingly ready to finally let her into his heart, it appears the universe has other plans for Kate.
Or does it?
I will give a hug to Yeyet when I see her. I will give the story 5/5 stars. The reasons are:
I never like Layne in its beta edition because I was rooting for Rob that time. But the newer one just blew me away! I love Layne na! hahaha I met him na daw ahahahaha
The scenes were well crafted!
Kate has a tough decision to make and she chose . . . BUY THE BOOK! HAHA
Although I blush for a time, I enjoyed it.
About the Author:
Yeyet Soriano has been writing her entire life, first as an angst-ridden teenager, then as a single working woman, then as a married working woman with kids. Though the themes of her written works have changed over the years, she held on to one truth—she needed to write to keep the voices in her head at bay.
Based in Manila, Philippines, her day job is that of an IT manager for the Asia-Pacific region for a multinational corporation. She is married to a man who reads only to fall asleep, and they have three wonderful kids—two of whom love to read and one, only starting to learn to read.
Kate, Finally is her first self-published romance.

Romancing October: #romanceclass #FeelsFest
Buy some feels & listen to a little love at the #romanceclass FeelsFest on Saturday, October 22, at Glorietta 5
Ghosts, skeletons, and cobwebs might be decorating the windows of shops these days, but why give in to fear when you can celebrate love in October? And why drown your sorrows and stress in beer at Oktoberfest when you can go on a rollercoaster of emotions at #FeelsFest? At least that’s what the folks from the #romanceclass community of authors and readers figure!
Mark your calendars: The #romanceclass #FeelsFest will be on October 22, 2016, at Glorietta 5 in Makati. Authors will be on hand to meet readers and sign books. They’ll be selling indie romance books—many of which you won’t find in your typical bookstore. There will also be games, giveaways, the launching of over 15 new titles published by indie authors just this month, a book donation drive for Ayala Malls’ Little Free Library, and the much-anticipated live readings!
In fact, #romanceclass live readings are show stealers, thanks to the feels delivered by actors invited to read excerpts from romance novels. Previous live readings have been punctuated with shrieks and sighs. #FeelsFest will mark the fifth official live reading event, the last one held just last month at the Manila International Book Fair. #FeelsFest will feature new live readings from #romanceclass books. (Visit http://romancepodcast.com/ to get the audio versions.)
The #FeelsFest live readings will feature performances by Gio Gahol, Rachel Coates, Hervin Alvarez, and Gabriela Pangilinan. Expect to hear scenes from books by Mina V. Esguerra, Ines Bautista-Yao, and more.
“The #romanceclass community is all about encouraging each other to read, write, and publish books we love,” says author Mina V. Esguerra, whose books include Tempting Victoria, What You Wanted, and Iris After the Incident, all of which and more will be available for sale at the event. “#FeelsFest is our chance to give back to the community of readers and friends who’ve supported us. We get to have a little fun, and maybe meet some new people who love a good love story as much as we do.”
So if you like to hug your hugot close and are addicted to happy endings, drop by Glorietta 5 on October 22. Selling will begin when the mall opens, and the official program is scheduled for 2PM to 6PM.
For more information about #romanceclass, visit http://romanceclassbooks.com, where you’ll see a catalogue of the authors’ books along with other information about the community. #FeelsFest is brought to you by Ayala Malls.

[Review]: Songs to Make You Stay by Jay E. Tria
Blurb: Love isn’t supposed to be this hard.
Now that he’s finally won Jill, the girl who’s always rocked his world, you’d think life would be heaven on earth for Shinta Mori. In a way, it is. But maybe he’s underestimated the fact that he’s a hunky movie star in Japan while his girl is ruling the indie music scene all the way in Manila.
When he spends a long-awaited vacation with her–through impromptu performances, frenzied flyer distribution, and unhinged radio guestings–he realizes how imperfect his seemingly perfect life is. And he begins to wonder if what they have is strong enough to survive years of being apart.
Can Shinta prove he’s worthy of the spotlight the universe shines on him? And more importantly, deserving of the devotion of a young girl in love?
Rating: 5/5 stars!
Why?
Here’s what I love about Shinta’s book.
As you all know, I am TEAM MIKI. But I enjoyed the other side of the story.
I love Japan so much and Jay, kinda takes me there while reading this book.
Although I was cheering for Miki the whole time, I understood where Shinta is coming from. His quest for love is not easy.
Plus Level 3 heat level is a plus factor ahaha
Buy the book to know a lot about how Shinta makes Jill stay or not? ahahaha
