Post-Vacation Update

Finally, my post vacation update! Yes – I skipped posting anything while I was on vacation except for my FM Blog Tour post. But I was busy. I was busy working on IC and cleaning my house. I'm happy to report that my house is much cleaner than it was pre-vacation. But I also realize that to thoroughly clean, I'd need about two months off. That would get me through all the crap in the basement and through all the totes in my office closet. What I loved was being able to get up early, have...

My World Does Not Revolve Around You

This post is, in fact, for an ex-friend who thought my post Shove Your Drama was about her.  Clearly she didn't see THIS POST that was actually meant for her that I posted earlier this year after several long and meandering visits to my websites, and, through the grape vine — lots of paranoia that I was allegedly cursing her and allegedly jealous of her.

My world does not revolve around you. It never has and it never will. Deal with it.

The only time you come up is when someone comes to me to t...

Were-Cats…In Space!!

A pink and yellow spotted unicorn looks at me from across the desk. "So as a writer you probably get a lot of writing questions."

I nod. "That's true."

The audience laughs.

"Well how about we don't talk about your latest bestselling book, Werewolves on the Edge." She lifts my latest tome up so the camera can get a good shot of the cover. "Instead I thought I'd ask you some personal questions if that's okay."

Admittedly I'm taken by surprise. "I welcome the opportunity to not talk about my...

Vacation Goodness (and More Plants)

So Monday starts my two week excursion to begin eliminating some of the clutter around the house. I am also installing two new hydroponic gardens! Merry Yule to me (early)!  :)  I have every intention of growing more tomatoes and peppers and trying some beans and peas. We'll see. I'm strange like that. I'm also considering magickal plants in the smaller garden once my tomatoes and peppers are done there (probably next spring). I'll likely do my outdoor veggie starts in one of the bigger...

Problems With A Free Market & No Government

I guess I find most Libertarians too idealistic and naive. They really make the assumption that all people are good and honest and have good intentions at heart. Even when it comes to big corporations whose only concern is their bottom line and their share of the market.

I am going to propose that MOST people are self-serving, manipulative and only care about themselves and their immediate loved ones. It's their survival and interests they have at heart; not the good of everyone. I am also...

Snowflakes

It's been a bit chilly here in Denver the past few weeks. We've already had a couple of light snows and we're expecting a little bit of snow this coming week.

Back when I was a kid, I remember making "snow houses" with my sister and cousin. We'd play outside for hours and it never bothered us. We had a wood sled with metal tracks that we'd ride down the hills in the field across the street. Hell, this was back then we actually had enough snow to go sledding, which is not something that's...

Shove Your Drama

The topic of online drama has come up a lot in the past week. Young people I know are allowing what people say "online" to effect them. Others are being baited by people who are overly dramatic and being pulled into nonsensical bullshit. Others still have found themselves victims of the never-ending drama of the "online occult scene". (And that, ladies and gents, is why I've pretty much removed myself from the online occult scene.)

Let me tell you a little something I've learned about drama...

Low Light Plants

I was looking through the house earlier this week and I've made a few observations about our house. It really lacks light. There is a two or three foot overhang around our entire house, along with East and West facing windows. What does this mean? It means that houseplants are a real bitch to grow in our house.  So I've been on the lookout for low light plants. It appears I am growing one variety (Golden Pothos Vine), but it tolerates a lot of abuse, mainly the fact that I only water once...

I could get used to this…

I have had a little taste, in the last few weeks, what it's like to have a little more time at home to work on my writing.  I really think this is going to work out well for me. I get a lot done and I get to spend a little more time with DH which is always a plus.

Self-motivation has never been an issue for me. What's always ended up being a pain in my arse is my domestic vs. creative time.  See, I have this bizarre thing where if my house is disorganized, my mind is sure to follow. So...
