Author School Visits

Hi Everybody,

One of the best parts about being an author is that I get to visit a lot of schools. I love meeting kids from all over the country and talking about the characters I’ve created and what it’s like to be an author. I also love conducting writing workshops.

If your school might is interested in having me, here is some important information:

Grades: K – 8
Length of presentation: 40 to 60 minutes depending on your school’s schedule and the age group of the audience.
Audience Size: La...

Mallory McDonald, Super Sitter

Hi Everybody,

Hope you’re having a lot of fun this summer at the beach, the pool, the library, camp, or just hanging out with your friends or family! Summer means different things for everyone. When I was growing up, one of the things I used to do in the summer was babysit. Of course I wanted Mallory to do it too, and she does in Mallory McDonald, Super Sitter.  I hope you’ll read about her adventures taking care of the twin boys who move onto Wish Pond Road. I had so much fun writing about w...

Summer reading

Hi Everbody,

Summer is almost here and that means fun in the sun and vacations, and hopefully some fun summer reading!

In my case (at least when I was growing up,) summer always meant road trips. Every summer my family would pack up the car and we’d go on an adventure.  It was lots of fun (and of course, always a bit of drama too!)   Best of all, those trips gave me a lot to write about!

Can You Say Catastrophe? is the first book in The Mostly Miserable Life of April Sinclair series and it’s...

Change Is In the Air Mallory

Hi Everybody,

Raise your hands if you have a pet that you love . . .

Well, Mallory’s hand is right up there with all of yours.  She loves her cat, Cheeseburger and when she gets sick and has to spend the night at the vet’s office, Mallory feels sick too.  It’s really hard when the pet you leave doesn’t feel well.  I hope you’ll read about how Mallory handles this tough situation in Change Is In the Air Mallory.

Talk to you soon!

Life, Loss and Lemonade

Hi Everybody,

It’s hard to believe it’s already April. That means Spring Break for lots of you, and that the end of the school year is in sight.

In Life, Loss and Lemonade (the final book in The Mostly Miserable Life of April Sinclair series), April’s freshman year of high school is winding down, and she has a lot to look forward to, including getting her driving permit and spending the summer with her quirky almost-boyfriend, Leo. But she also knows her grandmother, Gaga, doesn’t have much t...

Mallory McDonald, Super Sitter

Hi Everybody,

Well, the latest book Mallory McDonald, Super Sitter is just out and I’ve already heard from so many of you who have already read it. WOW! There are a lot of fast readers out there. I’m impressed. In Mallory McDonald, Super Sitter, Mallory and Chloe Jennifer take on a babysitting job and it’s definitely not as easy as it looks.  Have any of you tried babysitting? I’d love to know how you liked it. And if you’ve read the book, let me know how you like that too!

Talk to you soon!

As freshman year winds down, April has a lot to look forward to, including getting her driving permit and spending the summer with her quirky almost-boyfriend, Leo. But she also knows her grandmother, Gaga, doesn’t have much time left. On top of that, her closest friend, Sophie, is moving away. April struggles to make sense of eve...
