Favorite books of 2012: Merry-Go-Round Blog Tour #18
I have a confession: my reading fell way off this year, partly because of work stuff. I was so focused on getting things done that reading dropped to the last thing on the list, and usually slipped off it without me even noticing. Once
upon a time a farm boy with the voice of an angel and the ego of a god sang
before a fae lady he met on the road. He was wandering to escape a day's farm
work with his father and she was traveling to see the queen of Eliria.
The
boy didn't belong on the farm, walking behind a track of stubborn oxen who
would never appreciate his voice

"Damn, you're ugly," her mother said as Dena
stepped from the shower. "How could
I give birth to such an ugly daughter?"
"You're dead. Go away," Dena said, her voice flat.
The same words she'd said for days now, though they did no good.
"You've been eating too much. Look at you!
That's fat on your thighs! My
God, after all I told

What happened to zette?
I had a . . . busy November. Yeah, busy is a good term. NaNo, of course (I did 176k), but other things happened as well. We had a major electrical problem that cut a few days off my writing, with people in and out, rewiring, and such. In the midst of that, my beloved Edmond kitten suddenly couldn't walk.
