L.W. Turek is a former journalist and teacher. "Moon High" is Turek's third book. Other titles include "Curiosity's Leap" (for children ages 8-12) and "Three Carrots and a Pea Coat", a fully illustrated book (for children ages 2-6).

Turek is also an artist and photographer, with work appearing on greeting cards, home goods, garden / house flags, and clothing.
