I know many of you are already thinking that most of my posts in my blogs are my old works, years old quite often. Where are my new works? Have I stopped writing new ones?
Well I am still writing and painting as enthusiastically as before. But these days they are channeled into four other platforms- my annual republished kindle books (https://amazon.com/author/sharmishthabasu) -they devour quite a huge no. of stories and poems every year. Quite a lot!
my bookstore in shoptly (https://shoptly.com/sharmishthabasu) Another section goes to my shoptly bookstore, here I not only publish my monthly Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal I also publish a set of books of poetry and story. They are quite merrily illustrated and are available as pdf files. Yes you can read them perfectly in your cellular phone and of course in computer.
My twin Ezines Agnijaat and Agnishatdal (both English, monthlies) don’t feature much stories or poems but publish all my new essays and articles and again, truckload of illustrations.
and my patreon profile (https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu) This one again contains bunch of stories, poems and they almost always are illustrated. If not then the stories are very long and of the type that can’t be illustrated.
I have been so stuck up with my creations that I have ignored my blogs and other social media profiles since 2015 I believe. So, if you enjoyed my works quite amply then I think it is high time that I bring you up to date, to share what I am creating these days and how can you get them!
It will be a lengthy affair, so have patience. I will be updating you about my four years of hyperactive creativity!
I have started with Patreon’s works since April 2019. It is sort of my launch-pad to make my creativity actually become my career. So since creating my profile there I have been updating 5 works each month, two are the Ezines, the remaining three are writing and paintings. Works my blogger friends thoroughly enjoyed. Stories and poems with ample amount of illustrations!
Anyone who becomes my patron there can chose from few tiers-
You can check them from my profile- https://patreon.com/sharmishthabasu
The next set of works will be from my store in shoptly.com. I have created this store because it gives me lot more freedom than other platforms do. I can pick up the formatting and decide how many pictures I will add and in what size. Nothing meddles with them. So I sort of love this platform. You will see dozens of books here, you can directly buy them from shoptly or buy them from me via paypal- https://paypal.me/sharmishthabasu [don’t forget to drop me a line @ sermistabasu@gmail.com after paying in paypal so I can send you the pdf file {all these books cost $1.00

THURSDAY RHYMES 13.6.19
There is no pleasure in pain of another
but often it’s a humbling reminder
our blessings are more than we count.
There are so many that crave for them.
So every time you see a broken heart,
a life shattered, don’t forget to check out
your plate and see how much is there!
Then thank God for that and do what
your blessed mindset asks you to do!
Stop complaining about your state
or help others who are desperate for help.
Life is fair to none, believe my words my dear,
sometimes it really gets on our nerves
and we forget to notice the gifts that come
soaked in the inky black of sadness.
Peel away the wrapper and rejoice,
don’t let them go waste!
Just think about those souls who will give all
to get what you are ignoring!
A bouquet of wildflowers
This book is mostly about human nature, its complexity. Both its darkness and light has been shared in this book. Beware many poems are pretty direct, harsh straight from real world! But there are a few lighter ones too don’t worry.
As you may know it started with my storybooks in 2017, I kept the titles of the books but changed their contents fully, excluding the title stories. I told that I will include the poetry books from next year, here they are from 2018 onwards the contents of the poetry books will change too, most probably every year. In case of poetry books there are no title poems so majority of the contents or all contents will change. Hope you will enjoy them! I really don’t have any intentions of adding more titles in Amazon, I have stuffed up too many already, but I am stuffed with works so I will just change the contents every year, of as many books as I can handle! The createspace books, the paperbacks will be deleted this year-2019, so from this year onwards only poems, illustrated books will be in shoptly only barring few illustration based books in Kindle.

– The patient 10.7.14-
A gentle knock on the door woke her up. She got up and tied up her dressing gown before opening the door. A small boy was standing there, shivering in cold.
“Please help me…” there were tears in his eyes. He was wearing a rag in that freezing cold.
“What is wrong?” she asked.
“My mother… she is dying…”
she picked up a shawl from the drawing room sofa and gave it to the child. “Here, wrap yourself… where is your mother?”
“Down there….” he pointed at the road.
She followed him.
A woman was lying on the pavement, seemed dead but when she checked her she felt her breathing.
“She is a beggar memsaab.” she lifted her head, it was the watchman of their apartment building.
“Did you called an ambulance?” she asked.
“Do it now…” she ordered. He went away unwillingly.
A few minutes later the ambulance pulled in.
She made arrangements of sending the woman to a hospital she volunteered in.
She turned looking for the kid but he was nowhere.
“Where is the kid who woke me up? her son?” she asked the guard.
“There was no kid with her madam… only her… and i have been on the desk all the time, I saw you coming downstairs alone.” the guard said in a defiant tone.
She felt the hair on her nape rising up.
She went upstairs… the shawl was not there. Where did it go?
Who was that kid?

evil spell 24.5.14
The waves of ocean reached up to touch the moon, only she could see the stair of moon’s rays that came down to touch the ocean the bridge between her world and his. He was waiting for her at the other end.
The ocean spirit could be with her lover of moon only once every month.
Ages ago they were together, then came the time of man and black magic.
They used to watch the ships carrying them across the ocean, sometimes they sunk for one reason or another. They could only watch because they were forbidden from interfering or interacting with human beings.
“They are trouble!” that is what she has been hearing from elders since the day she was born. But just could not believe it! They looked so innocent and harmless.
She was playing her lute on the beach of a small island when she noticed the ship sinking! It was so close to the shore that she just could not resist. She went there and rescued as many as she could by staying invisible and creating waves.
Quite a handful reached the shores. Then she discovered the old man clinging to the trunk, floating in the opposite direction. She created a small wave and shoved him back to the right direction.
She had the feeling that he could see her! That was not a feeling! After sending him back to the shore she went to collect her lute so she could return home.
She picked it up and turned, he was standing there, staring at her.
“Who are you? Are you a Goddess?” he asked staring at her.
She walked away without answering, her heart beating fast!
She did not knew that she has left one of her anklets there, realized later, when she went back to retrieve it it was not there. She made another one. Then it started. She felt a strange urge to go to the island, whenever she went there that old man was sitting on the beach staring at the ocean, she never went near but still she had a feeling that he was waiting there for her and knew that she too is around.
Finally she could not take it anymore and talked with her lover. He took her to someone instantly.
An old spirit renowned her magic and wisdom!
“You are under a spell child!” the spirit said the minute she saw Nilavari.
“Spell?” Nilavari asked, “Who will cast a spell on me? All spirits love each other! Who will do such a thing?”
“It is done by the old man you saved from drowning!” the spirit said. “He is smitten by you and is using the anklet you left there by mistake to control you!”
“We need that anklet!” the spirit said. “But you can’t touch the land of that island. If you do that spell will become successful and you will become his slave!”“
Her lover went there to get it. That was the first night of her purgatory. Late at night the spirit’s messenger reached her.
“Come immediately!”
She rushed to her home. She was sitting there with a sad expression on her face.
Without a word she handed over a mirror to Nilavari. She could see her lover on the beach of the island.
The rest of the human beings she has saved were gone from the island but that old man has made a hut for him and was living there.
A fire was burning in a small spot surrounded by bricks, apparently made for burning fire specifically. He was offering things in the fire and chanting something. She could see her lover standing outside, her anklet was in that man’s arm, he was wearing it like a bracelet!
Her lover first requested him to give him the anklet and stop what he was doing. In return the man mocked him and told him bluntly he will do whatever he wanted to!
Her lover challenged him and took it from him after a fight, but the man succeeded into cutting off a lock of his hair during the scuffle.
The minute her lover walked away he pulled out a book and started chanting something, the minute he threw Nilavari’s lover’s hair in the fire her lover vanished from the beach.
“Did he kill him?” Nilavari asked the spirit, grabbing her hands with hers!
“No!” the spirit said. “He could not because your lover was wearing a protective amulet but I underestimated that monster’s power! He has banned your lover from the world of water, forever!”
“He is now a spirit of moon and you two can never be together!” the spirit said sadly.
Nilavari started her long centuries of meditation. She worshipped the Goddess of water till she gave in and appeared.
“Turn me into a moon spirit so I can be with my lover!” she begged!
“I can’t!” the Goddess said sadly. “Moon is beyond my realm! But I can give you one night every month to be with him, as long as he wishes too!” then she told her the method and told the same to her lover too.
The whole month her lover weaves the stair from moon to earth. She climbs it to meet him, but the touch of first ray of sun next morning destroys it…
The evil man was gone centuries ago but his evil spell remained keeping them separated.

Invisible lover 17.6.14
He dropped his bag on the table, his sweat-soaked dresses followed it some on the table, some on floor, he grabbed the towel and headed for the toilet. He came out after a long bath in the lukewarm water. Which really did not soothed his body but that was the way it was here! The water in the tap started boiling by eleven in the morning and cooled down after eleven in night! Almost seven months in a year!
He opened his window for some breeze, the weather was toxic here, hot and humid. It either rained during monsoon or it stuffed up totally.
The roof of the building opposite was visible from his window. He loved watching Indian life, in stealth, hiding behind the curtain.
Early in the morning an elderly man came upstairs to worship the sun. He loved the way he offered a red hibiscus and water to the sun before starting his day.
Next it was the parade of household helps with washed laundry, they all had their individual cloth lines where they hanged the clothes before packing off for the morning, he has seen them working for various houses in the same locality for a pitiable amount.
Finally when the things settled down she came on the roof, along with a small boy, he knew she was blind. The boy held her hand and guided her to the small swing.
She played her flute till it was too hot to stay there. Then they went downstairs together.
He wondered, if he went there and proposed to her will her parents murder her or be happy that their daughter found someone who loved her.
