GTD Times: Controlling your work instead of being controlled by it

Dear David and Co.,

About three years ago, on a long plane ride, I was able to fully deploy GTD into a paper-based system.  I had read the book. And the book suggested writing down all active Projects, Tasks, and Waiting Fors.

After writing down all my projects, I looked at the list. It was easy to see I had too many irons in the fire.  Looking at the Projects list, I knew what I had to to next.  More importantly, I knew what I had NOT to do.

Member Exclusive: GTD In Gmail?

Hi,

I know there's a description for how to set up Gmail as a list manager, probably by Kelly Forrester and Wayne Pepper, but I'm not finding it. I get too many hits. I'm not even sure if it's a document or audio. Pointers, please?

Thanks!
Christina

GTD Times: Take a Guided GTD Weekly Review Class on Twitter

I'll be doing another free guided GTD Weekly Review on Twitter this coming Friday, March 26th at 10am California time.  These events are fun, easy to follow and a great way to get a taste of a GTD best practice.
What: It will be a working Twitter class.  Over an hour, I'll guide people through the 11-steps of the GTD Weekly Review through a series of Tweets. You'll want to be in front of your system (at least calendar, lists, email, inboxes etc.) to take action based on the Tweets.  While...

Member Exclusive: A Question On Project (outcome) Wording...

Hey everybody,

I captured a thought that popped into my head on a recent GTD seminar, where one of the coaches talked about the wording of project and how that should serve as a source of inspiration to you.

My thought is - if the ideal project outcome depends on someone else being inspired to...

GTD Times: Quick tip for processing your Inbox

Once you have determined your next physical action, you can either complete it in the moment, hand it off to someone else to do, or keep track of it in a way that you will be reminded of it appropriately. -David Allen (in chapter 12 of Making It All Work)

Want any easy way to remember these?  If you're following the GTD Workflow Map, these are your choices of Do, Delegate, or Defer.  Of course, don't forget about Delete, which comes when you are first deciding whether or not it's actionable. ...

Member Exclusive: Blackberry Curve And Ipod Touch-Overkill

I have decided to get a Blackberry Curve because of Outlook and GTD. I am wondering if getting an Ipod touch for audio books is a duplication or a selfish thing to do.

I like audio books and I am wondering if anyone cares to comment on how easy they are to use on an Ipod touch vs. an Ipod Nano.

The greater your worldly engagements, the greater engagement w/GTD is required to disengage, to stay engaged w/gusto.
