Member Exclusive: GTD In Research Design

I am interested in sharing GTD methods with my Research Design class. Any thoughts on how to orient graduate students working on a thesis toward GTD best practices? Making it All Work will be one of the required readings.

GTD Times: Being comfortable with letting things get out of control

Question: I listened to your Webinar on Procrastination (you can find this Webinar on GTD Connect, our online learning center) and have found that I have trouble starting to "do" anything when I know there is a lot of unprocessed stuff.  I have the type of job whereby e-mails, paper, and other things accumulate rapidly so I am often "stuck" with the inability to start on the action list if my Inbox (both paper and electronic) are filling up  with unprocessed items.  I would be interested in a...

Member Exclusive: Project Or Area Of Focus?

I'm struggling with how to manage some things that are in between projects and areas of focus. The ones I'm thinking about now relate to my kids. For example, my 12 year old can periodically get anxious and overwhelmed and I'm working with him on that. But I do not have a specific next action rig...

Member Exclusive: How To Archive Electronic Files?

I'm not sure if this is the correct forum to post this in, but here goes ...

I'm looking to archive off some spreadsheet and word processor files, which I have been storing in project folders on my PC. I recently had the experience of trying to access a pretty old (1995) MS Word file, only to be...

Member Exclusive: Need An Alternative To My IPhone: I NEED ONLY PDA

My needs are 99% PDA, and if Sony still made Palm OS PDAs, I'd get one. I bought iPhone because I needed a new PDA and it seemed the best fit.

What other devices are people happy with the PDA function of i.e. easy to use.

I suppose I should just use paper, but that has limitations that I ha...

GTD Times: Doing GTD Weekly Reviews on the iPad

Community Contribution from Jason Verly

On April 3, 2010, Apple released the iPad to the world.  A day later I completely changed how I do my weekly reviews.  Like most avid GTD'ers, I kept my weekly review to be a sacred and solemn time.  I normally did my reviews on Sunday evening in my home office so I could really dig into what was happening so I could get clear about what I had coming up the next week.  My weekly review was anchored to a time and place where I believed I needed to be to...
