Was 1:45am Porto time tucked in bed last night when shit got turned up from the live stage they built in Aliados for the big game on a big screen a half mile away. Caught a small case of FOMO before the moon reminded me where the best seat in the house is..

Finally making new friends. This is Duke. Warm as can be. But his English is pretty ruff.

Starts in 6 days!!
*WEEK 1*
While trying to finish a script once, a writing partner said, “Ya know, we don’t have to write something transcendent every single time.” I became confused, “…Yes we do.” Week one’s discourse is throwin a party in that house of thought.

“Boy, go find your spine and ride it out of here.” From a piece I wrote called Human the Death Dance. I got a tattoo once when I was 17. Burned it off when I was 19. Never had the nards to make a statement like this with anything but my voice.
@johno_s_24, that you committed to something so sincere, written by such a fallible stranger like me is … well … clearly I’m proud to show it off. May I never let ya down. You might be surprised to find out you’re in great company with @zmahadeo

For all creatives. All levels welcome.
Previous month-long courses with Buddy have built on each other from one week to the next. For the May/June sessions, each week is a new discourse and experience in creativity, writing, and language that isn’t scared to hurl itself off the high dive. Or land upright. The common thread throughout all four weeks is that of a higher power (yours), and doing right by that power with every risk.
* WEEK 1 – How to Say Hello in Cellular
While trying to finish a script once, a writing partner said to me, “Ya know, we don’t have to write something transcendent every single time.” I became very confused, “… Yes we do.” This week identifies and prioritizes your highest ideals in everything you create.
* WEEK 2 – That’s Enough of That
No but seriously, stop being an asshole. This week we’ll do anything but pretend you’re not here. You are here. Everyone can see it. There’s no way around your presence, or what you’ve lived through to be worthy of it. Tonight we leave behind the case you’ve built in favor a war that’s already over.
*WEEK 3 – Past, Perfect, Tense
Underestimating and overestimating are just different ways of saying past and future. Tonight we tell timelessness through speculative writing, and push the limits on what on how you see yourself creatively or otherwise.
* WEEK 4 – Now the Future Swung
Everything you got. This week you’ll connect with aliens, and the people who can handle the creative risks you take…
* This may not be the right course for those who actively disbelieve that something greater than themselves is at play in this life.

This is my mom. She once saved up enough money for an hour of studio time to record five songs. One take. I loved them and saved them on a cassette. For Mother’s Day a few years back I turned it into a CD. She’s too shy to let me release it, though I know you’d think the world of her. Instead, this year, I extended the poem I wrote for her (Guitar Repair Woman) to meet a word count guideline and submitted it to @vocal_creators. It just got posted there. You can read it if you follow the Iink in my bio. Happy belated Mother’s Day, Mom.

Yesterday’s lunch in Porto clocked in at 7hrs 45min. Our 10.5hr record pace was set earlier this season, but the team is looking strong to get back on track as we move into summer sunsets. To my three cancelled afternoon appointments, and the emails unanswered: it turns out I’m breathing again and can’t be bothered to interrupt shit like that. Love, Petinga Fritas
