introducing the #DisarmHatePoetry project! we’ve commissioned 16 of the world’s leading LGBTQ poets to respond to @doc2disarmhate. the album will be released digitally on 12 June, marking the 5-year anniversary of the Orlando massacre.
the album – We Will Keep On – will also be released on 2LP gatefold vinyl later in the summer, which is available to pre-order now. the poems will be interspersed with documentary excerpts from Ralph Stevens’ soundtrack album.
our poets represent a cross-section of the LGBTQ community. and thanks to funding from @aceagrams, we’re able to split the profits between @contigofund and @stonewalluk. we want as much of this album as possible to go back into the LGBTQ community.
we’ll also be staging free virtual workshops with poets featured on the album and inviting public responses in both audio and written form. we’ll announce details later this week.
we’re honoured to be a part of the #DisarmHate movement and hope that this album can contribute.
