The Stars Just Watch Review
The Stars Just Watch by Jonathan HillMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
"I just wish that we could be honest. (...) I just wish - I wish - everyone around us knew about us. And once they know, they know and that's it. There's nothing else to fear. (...) The thing I fear most is the thing I want most to happen."
The Stars Just Watch is a powerful story of profound love that happens in the wrong time and wrong place. A story that wraps us in its aching embrace as the stars wrap the night on the eve of destruction. When lives part because the battle cry is calling, leaving those who stay to wait and hope and tremble in desperation.
The night sky is sparkling with stars and each star is a tear from heaven shining on the faces of Jack and Cliff. In their last evening together, in their last embrace, a hug, a kiss, a firm grip of fingers. "If you die, then I shall kill myself. I shall. I shall kill myself!"
Jonathan Hill condemned us to the heart-wrenching and gut gripping war story full of grace, pain and darkness we drink in one gulp as a bitter remedy. A story of two men in love, forbidden, doomed and hidden under the cover of brotherhood. But as the war has no mercy to the millions of people all over Europe, their secret is merciless to Jack and Cliff. As a sudden flash from a gun, it lights up and hits the face of Cliff's wife Violet with a shock of recognition and realization, crumbling their world like the house of cards they played only hours ago.
No love should be hidden as the worst imaginable crime. No two lovers should suffer as Jack and Cliff did. Their dream is simple, honest, so common.
"The sun is shining. (...) And we are walking through a park together. We're looking at the trees and you're pointing out a squirrel to me. (...) We continue to walk. And the entire time, the entire time, we are holding hands. (...) You say that your hand feels safe, nestled in my own. But mine feels just as safe wrapped around yours. Then we turn a corner and there are people. People everywhere. (...) And everyone is going about their own business. And we walk amongst them holding hands, and not one person turns to look at us. No one stops, no one stares. No one turns. And it is beautiful."
The Stars Just Watch is a new version of the story previously released under the title Is it Her?.

Turpitude Review
Turpitude by YoungMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Society defines us, whether we bend to its rules, standards, follow the flow and succeed like its darlings, or veer off the wonted course. As outcasts, rebels, and non-fitters, we often define its members as of a cult, a sect within a society where these minorities live by their own rule, will, and decision-making.
Young is one such individual; a brave young man from Kuala Lumpur, who consciously opened the curtains to a harem life and willingly embraced it. In his unique and uncensored memoir A Harem Boy's Saga, he stripped himself naked to those willing to see and read the structure of his musculature—the bones of his thoughts, desires, emotions and carnal pleasures.
Turpitude is the fourth book in a series of seven volumes. Young withholds no secrets as he narrates his tale about his sexual and spiritual adventures with men throughout Europe, the Middle East and Asia in the late 1960s and 70s. Are the stories provocatively shocking? Yes! If you picture a young man's life differently; one who was initiated into a clandestine sexual society via his UK boarding school and be trained to serve in Middle Eastern harems and to pleasure the wealthy and elite.
This book is also honest and worthy of respect because Young is never ashamed of his desires, needs and his unfading love for Andy, his 'Big Brother,' his 'Valet,' guardian and mentor; whom he corresponds presently where they reflect on the events of 45 years ago.
Young's writing is sensual, erotic and sophisticated. Even when he worships the male body and the carnal act, he does that with a gentlemanly approach. Hence his Turpitude experiences do not come across as pornographic or vulgar, but a testimony of a different lifestyle that is vastly different from the social norms which most westerners are not accustomed to. This life is abundantly rich with everything: wealth, colors, smells, philosophy, spirituality, eroticism and of course, sex.
I'm sure Young expects his memoirs to be judged and criticized for his erotic, exotic adventures and experiences at the Assalamu Alaikum (Peace Be with You) Household. This young man soon rose to the rank of an assistant to the sheik's numerous international ventures. This too would be a controversy for die-hard representatives of Orthodox cultures.
Young iterated at the end of the book: For four years, unbeknownst to my family, I was willingly and happily part of a Harem. My story has been kept under wraps for close to 45 years. The correct moment has arrived for me to make known my unique education. In his epilogue, the author wrote: Though these truths are often demonized by contemporary societies that deem such behaviors inappropriate, the author hopes to dispel condemnation and negativity related to sexuality, love, and personal freedom.
My final question would be: Who is pure enough to cast the first stone?

Unexpectedly, My Book Has Already Arrived!
I did not plan on writing this blog post today but thanks to the unexpected gift from CreateSpace I couldn't keep silent and not share my great joy with you!
Twelve days before the estimated delivery date I got the paperback copies of my novella A World Without Color! This is such a surprise because CreateSpace gave me a beautiful gift of TIME for the copies I ordered and paid almost a month ago. Isn't that awesome?!
Have you also ordered a copy of my book for yourself or as a gift for someone else? You can still do that on Amazon or CreateSpace, whichever you prefer.
Since I am in such a good mood now, I want to share with you a short excerpt from my book which hasn't been posted anywhere on the Internet yet.
As if it was encoded in your genes, you hated to travel by car, so we took you only a few times to the unknown environment of our cottage. During the ride, you would take revenge on us by throwing up and doing the big business in the car which prompted us to open the windows in a hurry. You therefore spent most of your time with us in the apartment, showing yourself as a worthy, fearless and skilled hunter, as were your ancestors and brothers. If I recall well, on two occasions Mom had to remove from your little jaws stiff and scared sparrows you caught on the balcony. Your walk on the thin railing, beyond which was a yawning chasm to the concrete courtyard sixty-five feet below, chilled our blood! Even now I’m shaking from the thought of what would have happened if you slipped, and what would be left of you if your twenty-two pounds—what you weighed back then—began to plunge. How many years of life you took from us then, and yet you are the one who is leaving before us all....
If you are also in the mood for giving and sharing, I thank you for purchasing a copy of my book!
But I also thank you for supporting my good friend and indie author Angel Medina. In my October 3rd alert Act For Puerto Rico: Helping One Man Is Like Helping A Whole Nation I asked you to purchase one or more of his books because he was trapped on the island of Puerto Rico devastated by two hurricanes—Irma and Maria. I didn't hear from him, I had no news of him except having the faith that he was all right.
Angel is no longer in Puerto Rico. He had to move to his family in New York City because life in Puerto Rico is still a reality version of a nightmare for people there.
Angel is safe, but he doesn't know when he will return home. He still needs our help. So if you care to purchase one of his books together with mine, I would be very grateful to you. If you cannot afford to buy and read two authors instead of one, then please choose Angel's book. Helping Angel is like helping me, for if it wasn't for Angel there is a great chance I still wouldn't be an indie author and you still wouldn't be able to read A World Without Color.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Sever Review
Sever by Jesse GreyMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
Sever by Jesse Grey, writer, reader and music needer from Roanoke, Virginia, is a story I would like to see as a TV show!
The first book from a Slayer Society series is an intriguingly plotted thriller shrouded in the mystery revolving around the high school king Sumner Shadows who tried to kill his friends at the cemetery. Barely surviving their horrific death, they committed their own crime in the process and covered up what they did. With Sumner getting away, that was not the end for Alex, Abram, Bridge, and Mercer. When a new girl moves to Armor Falls, she brings the evidence that Sumner is back to finish what he started.
Sever is a young adult suspense and romance novel for teen, young adult, LGTB and adult readers. With its length, twists, interesting characters in unexpected romantic, emotional and turbulent situations, it deserves to be considered a serious read worthy of our time and attention.
That the author is giving it for free on Smashwords is yet another reason to warm ourselves for getting acquainted with the young members of the Slayer Society.

Act For Puerto Rico: Helping One Man Is Like Helping A Whole Nation
Before he found himself on a devastating path of hurricane Maria and got cut off from the rest of the world, Angel Ramon Medina was a lucky survivor of hurricane Irma raising funds from his books sales for the victims of hurricane Irma and working on his new book.
Before the first hurricane Irma hit his island, Angel was an indie author of six books, with Angel's Nightmare Adventure gaining the title of a #1 Amazon Best Seller horror short story.
Angel is also the founder and the leader of The Hybrid Nation, whose aim is to help with the promotion of indie authors, the future face of Puerto Rican LitRPG, my friend and a person responsible for my transformation from a traditionally published author in Croatian into an indie author writing and publishing in English.
Angel's heart is big and unselfish and I can speak of it from personal experience. His willingness to help me and guide me throughout my whole becoming and growing up as an indie author is as big as his readiness to help his fellow Puerto Ricans in need. But now Angel is also one of them. One of 3,5 million Puerto Ricans trapped in this "rich port" with no electricity and with shortage of water and food now.
No man is an island and certainly it shouldn't be the whole nation of 3,5 million suffered souls left with devastated homes and ruined lives. Their reality is everyday struggle for survival on the island flooded with water and lit only by the shine of stars and the moon left in the wake of raging monster hurricane Maria.
The leading man of the United States said it is a big big ocean around that island and it's difficult to deliver help the people of Puerto Rico need so badly. But one thing we know better. Where government officials fail is where ordinary people take over. No ocean is big big enough not to be bridged over by the solidarity of common people united in their will to help from all corners of the world.
Please, help my friend Angel Ramon Medina. Buy one, more or all of his books or give a monthly donation at his Patreon profile and help him get on his feet once he is able again to start something even remotely what we call a normal life. This is an act of a direct help to the author in need. I urge members of The Hybrid Nation, everyone who has ever tweeted, texted, talked or shared posts and thoughts with Angel to rise up and support him. Pin your tweets for him for a few days or a week, tweet about him, share posts about him. Invite others to buy, read and review his books. This is the best we can do under these circumstances and it takes so little of our time. Helping one man is like helping the whole nation because Angel would do the same if he was in a position to do so.
The last time I've heard from Angel was on September 19, 2017. The last few words he said to me were: "I'm afraid so." Then silence. Loud and clear.
I know we authors have to write, promote and sell our books because they depend on us. But right now it is a moment to look beyond that because even while taking care of our businesses and minding our own affairs we still have time to help the fellow author in need. This is the time of solidarity, the time to show the world and each other our support.
Please help Angel's fellow Puerto Ricans. Give up on your coffee today, skip one meal or donate just one dollar to The Ricky Martin Foundation. The Ricky Martin Foundation team on the ground is already working to provide most urgently needed supplies and has partnered with Music For Relief and We Care Solar to bring light & hope to the communities which are literally in the dark.
Please help animals in Puerto Rico. If your circle of compassion extends even further than encompassing only your own species and you wish to help animals who also suffer greatly in this huge tragedy on the island of Puerto Rico, please make an urgent gift to PETA's Animal Emergency Fund. Do it today because PETA's rescue team is helping animals in Puerto Rico now and they also need us.

Anniversary Giveaway Winners & Emergency Announcement
I am happy to announce the two lucky winners of my first ever giveaway and I thank Jeanne Melanson and her cool Animal Bliss blog for being such a kind host to my Anniversary Giveaway!
Out of 320 entries, Victoria Kondovski and Michael Nicodemus Holda were the two luckiest random winners to get my e-book A World Without Color! However, since Michael in the meantime got my e-book and already wrote a very nice and passionate review for it, he was kind enough to let Jeanne pick another winner and make her happy. So the second lucky winner is Natalie Hartmann! Congratulations, guys!
There is good news for the rest of you too. The A World Without Color e-book is still available at KindleUnlimted so you can read it there for free. Even if you purchase a copy for your library, both the paperback and e-book prices are symbolic ones and affordable for everyone.
So thank you for clicking that "Buy now with 1-Click" button and for leaving an honest review. I look forward to your comments!
If you are still in the mood to take part in book cover contests, you can vote for my book cover in AUTHORSdb Cover Contest 2017. Your votes are important and thanks to them my book will have the chance to go to the next round in October.
This week I also entered another contest—2017 Readers Choice Awards by TCK Publishing. My book A World Without Color is competing for the book of the year in the category Memoir. I would really appreciate your kind votes of support on page 6 here.
Thank you all for your kind support!
Emergency Announcement
This goes out for my friend and fellow indie author Angel Ramon. Angel lives in Salinas, Puerto Rico, which has been struck by a hurricane twice recently. The last hurricane Maria was devastating for the whole island, leaving it without electricity, running water and with shattered homes.
Even though Angel is not able to communicate with us, his books are. They are still online, waiting for us to purchase, read and review them. Please open your hearts and help the author in need. It is very important to keep his books selling not only as a moral support but because it may be his only source of income for a while.
To buy one or more Angel's books please visit his Amazon author's page here.
Thank you.

The Nightmare Continues?!
Angel's Nightmare Adventure 2: The Nightmare Continues by Angel RamonMy rating: 5 of 5 stars
We all had in our life a dream so real we couldn't distinguish it from reality when we woke up. We also had nightmarish days for which we just wanted to end so we could wake up and breathe a sigh of relief when they were over. Except...
... they didn't end; the nightmare continued.
This happened to Angel, who in a period of five years experienced two worst nightmares. He was only 17 when he was chased by zombies and monstrous creatures through the hospital in flight to save his life and the life of a girl Maria. They both survived because it was only a nightmare and Maria became his real life girlfriend.
But what are the odds the almost similar scenario happens again, only five years later, at his first day at job as an NYPD officer? It is a beautiful September morning when he leaves his apartment in Brooklyn and drops his girlfriend Maria at Brooklyn College before he drives on to the 75th precinct in East New York to report to his first day at work.
Little did he know his first day at the 75th precinct would turn into another nightmare from hell and his first and only assignment would be saving himself and his love Maria. Because New York was once again attacked by the fast-growing nation of zombies....
If you loved the #1 Amazon Best Seller horror short story Angel's Nightmare Adventure, don't miss the second installment! Angel's Nightmare Adventure 2: The Nightmare Continues is packed with the same dose of action, fright, living dead and other hybrid creatures!
You can read my review of Angel's Nightmare Adventure here.
At the moment of publishing this review Angel is cut off from the rest of the world because of the monster hurricane Maria hitting and devastating Puerto Rico. Please support him by purchasing, reading and reviewing his books. Thank you!

Paperback: The Waiting is Over!
The long journey is over and I have reached my destination! After a long delay and lots of postponing, my novella A World Without Color is available as paperback!
On September 13, 2017 it was released for publication on CreateSpace and since yesterday, September 16, 2017, it is available for purchase on Amazon as well.
If you prefer a paperback over an e-book (like me), go grab your copy!
You curl up in your new hideout, and the soft light of the April afternoon washes your worn-out body. You are aware of my closeness. You confirm that with a gentle sigh while my palm tenderly slides down your fur. You still like my touch, although pain is what you now mostly feel. And uncertainty—but for how long?
Beside the new paperback release, A World Without Color e-book is until September 25 in the Anniversary Giveaway on the Animal Bliss blog. Enter it now to get a chance to be one of the two lucky winners!
If you like the cover of my book, please cast a vote for it in AUTHORSdb Cover Contest 2017 and help it make it to the next round!
Thank you for purchasing and reading A World Without Color, for writing an honest review and posting it on Amazon and for giving my book a long life!
Thank you for your patience and for not losing faith in me!
