Hollywood mainstay J. Alex Cook has a growing family — and a growing career. But as he makes the move from television regular to blockbuster film star, the media scrutiny he’s never acclimated to gets more intense than he expects.

Returning to his childhood home in Indiana to confront his sister and their troubled past, Alex’s vision for his future is thrown into turmoil. Forced to realize that sometimes space is the only way to grow closer to the ones you love, Alex sets off on an international adventure that will change the way he does life, love, and logistics forever.

Please be aware, this is a high-heat, high-angst M/M romance and includes characters with a past history of self-harm.

An update on book availability in the wake of the Pronoun closure

Pronoun, a distribution tool for independent publishers is moving towards shutdown between now and January 2018. As Erin ad I distribute books using this tool, we wanted to let you know how this will and won’t impact you:

– We are currently migrating titles off of pronoun and on to various sites directly or through D2D. This may result in brief periods where books aren’t available on a platform you expect to see them on. We don’t expect any outages to be more than 48 hours and are trying to avoid major shopping days. However, we are still committed to distributing wide so you can read on your preferred platforms.

– GooglePlay has proven to be difficult for us to access as indie publishers. We are currently working on this. Our titles will remain on GooglePlay via Pronoun for as long as possible, and we hope to have a solution to this issue before the Pronoun shutdown.

– If you are having trouble accessing a book because of changes made between when you purchased it and when you went to download it, please email us at erin.and.racheline@gmail.com and we’ll get it sorted.

Tremontaine S3 launches October 11!

By the end of season 2, Diane, Duchess Tremontaine, having risen from a secret past of meager means, did what she had to do to hold onto her place in society, manipulating the nobility of the city into proclaiming her duchess in her own right. But with the husband she poisoned into madness a lingering risk to her future security, she struck a deal to erase him permanently from the picture.

When the foreign agent named Ixkaab Balam pursued the life of a professional swordswoman, her career did not go as planned, costing both her both a lover and a mentor. With the death of her beloved aunt, Kaab was thrust into a role she might not be ready for–that of the spymaster for her powerful merchant family.

Elsewhere, the scholar Rafe Fenton, tried and failed to rescue his lover Will from Diane’s clutches, but was able to strike a bargain the spared the man’s life, if not their relationship, forcing Rafe to reevaluate his ambitions. Meanwhile, his ally and friend Micah, a mathematical genius from the country, forged an unlikely—and potentially dangerous—bond with the duchess, moving into her home.

“Sharp blades and even sharper wits abound! Delicious new adventures await fans in this welcome return to the world of Swordspoint.” – JACQUELINE CAREY, New York Times Bestselling author of the Kushiel’s Legacy series

Welcome to Tremontaine, where ambition, love affairs, and rivalries dance with deadly results.  In this serial, Ellen Kushner and a team of writers return readers to the world of scandal and swordplay introduced in her cult-classic novel Swordspoint. Readers familiar with the series will find a welcome homecoming while new fans will learn what makes Riverside a place they will want to visit again and again. Tremontaine follows Diane, Duchess Tremontaine, whose beauty is matched only by her cunning; Rafe Fenton, a handsome young scholar with more passion than sense; Ixkaab Balam, a tradeswoman from afar with skill for swords and secrets; and Micah, a gentle genius whose discoveries herald revolution. Sparks fly as these four lives intersect in a world where politics is everything, and outcasts are the tastemakers. Tread carefully, dear reader, and keep your wit as sharp as your steel.

“Lovely! Beneath a froth of silk and lace Tremontaine is finely muscled, rippling with skill and promise.” – NICOLA GRIFFITH, author of Hild

Subscribe at Serial Box to get both ebook and audio for just $1.59 per episode.

Ebook also available from all major distributors.

A Queen from the North gets reviewed on SBTB… and some sequel news

[image error]Woo! So first of all, the official Smart Bitches Trashy Books review is up for QFTN and it’s a very happy-making B+. I love reviews because they see things/themes in books that we don’t always see as writers.

Since, the review mentions sequel hints, and we also get asked the following things about the sequel all the time, below is some stuff:

[image error] Yes, the next book is about George.
No, it’s not a coming out story (much of that will have happened in the space between QFTN and the sequel). It’s just a romance novel. Being a witch in the ruling family of a politically unstable, superstitious, constitutional monarchy, George has other stuff going on.
I know George’s gq/nbness is legitimately framed as a spoiler for many readers (and that’s fine – everyone should talk about the book the way they want to talk about the book), but as a gq/nb person I’m not like super into guarding that secret, because I want people to know this character exists and also that narrative isn’t about what can sometimes feel to nb/gq people like a cis/het concern about deception.
We will address some more what’s up with Ireland some in this book, but that will be the main focus of the third book.
Yes, more politics throughout.
Yes, more magic.
More biiiiiiiiiiiiiiirds.
Timeline in terms of when it’ll be done? We have no idea. We think it’ll be easier to write than the first one (which was not easy to write) but we’ll see?
