Lyn Needs Help with a Title!

Now for the September question.I need help with the title of my book that will come out early 2024. It will be the final book and my “The Preacher’s Daughters” series. My heroine, Kat, short for Katherine, is a small town business owner who is forced to take on a partner after medical expenses for her late father have cropped up. Through friends, she has connected with a Chicago businessman who wants to leave the big city. So here are the two choices: A:“Kat’s Big-City Partner,”or B: “Kat’s Strictly-Business Partner.”Please vote for A or B! Or if you have a better C, leave that here. Lyn Reviews Patricia McLinn’s Death on Torrid Ave.

I recently reviewed book one of the series, “Secret Sleuth,” and here is my review a book two.

The heroine with her secret past, Sheila, has begun a new life in a Kentucky town. A quiet small town uneventful life is what she wants, right? And she gets it, right?

Of course, wrong! Sheila is one of those Jessica Fletcher kind of heroines who find bodies wherever they go!

I found the local dog park on Torrid Ave. to be an interesting place for a murder. And of course the victim– just like the one in Death on Diversion–was a person who would have won the most likely to be murdered, or at least assaulted, award. Some people aren’t happy, unless they are at odds with someone or everyone. Don’t be that person! You may not end up murdered but I wouldn’t chance it!
A thoroughly believable and enjoyable mystery with lots of furry friends!

Lyn Reviews Adriana Licio’s Death on the West Highland Way

I am really enjoying this series by Adriana Lucio. Etta and Dora continue to intrigue me. And I’m especially intrigued by the way they have changed as their friendship has grown. They are both doing things that they didn’t intend to do a few months ago. But hiking a mountain over a rugged trail in Scotland seems to be quite the challenge. And a will with conditions adds even more intrigue and suspense as the heirs vie to win the prize of a Socttish castle and island. I love it. I never can figure out who did it in one of th ese mysteries. I also felt as though I had hiked through Scotland, including Loch Lomond. So if you’d like to take a trip with two charming Italian septagenarians, and their clever basset hound, this Mystery is for you!

Lyn Tells the Tale of Two Brothers: Browser and Lovey

Subject Line: Siblings? Alike or Not?

Do you have siblings? And are you similar in some ways or just very different? 

I could share about my own family since I had an older brother and a younger sister. However, I’m going to talk about the two kittens I adopted September 1, 2022. It has been an interesting time getting to see how different they both are, even though they are littermates and look almost identical. 

The first one I named Lovey, but I could also have called him, Rebel, Rascal, or Climber. He loves to “push the envelope.: He knows what he is not supposed to do, but he doesn’t want to obey all the time. Of course, he is only the equivalent of a four or five-year-old in human years so I have to understand that his sudden impulses and impetuous behavior are to be expected! 

The other thing is that he is a born predator. He wants to hunt. But we live in the woods where there are a lot of things that eat cats. And the road near our property is very busy. So he cannot go outside to hunt. I have begun putting some bait out on a mat near our sliding glass door so he can watch squirrels, chipmunks, etc. come up to the door. He watches them avidly and wishes his mom wasn’t so mean.

His brother, when we named Browser, could also have been named Chowhound. He loves his food and he’s very treat-oriented whereas his brother is fun-oriented. He also has already matured more quickly than his brother and just wants to get along. He’s very loving, but he does not want me to pick him up or hold him. Lovey, on the other hand, climbs up on my lap for loves a couple times a day and is very much a lap cat. Browser (whom I also call Brow-Brow) prefers birds over furry prey. He will jump to the window when he catches sight of one and makes a fun growly noise in his throat.

I chose this topic because my new series, “The Preacher’s Daughters,” is the story of three sisters: Hannah, Abby and Lucy. I won’t reveal which they are—alike or different. But I think you’ll find them an intersting trio of heroines, startingn with Book 1, HANNAH’S HOMETOWN HERO~

Can a shy girl find her moxie and win her hometown hero?  Or “let” him win her?

May I Introduce anotehr WI Author?

 

I’m Laura Scott – I’ve always wanted to be an author, but my parents insisted I get a “real” job. Thankfully, I loved science so I chose nursing. I loved my critical care nursing career, but writing books, especially romances, still called to me. When I finished my MBA it seemed like I had more time on my hands (despite working full time and having two kids? Hmm) so I decided to try my hand at writing again. I wasn’t an overnight success by any means, but I published my first book in 2003 and have written 100 books in the twenty years since! I retired from my “real” day job after 38 years and am thrilled to be writing full time. I love writing Christian themed suspense stories that keep the reader guessing until the last page.
