Holiday

Rosh Hashonah starts here tonight. It’s the start of the Jewish New Year.  I admit to being less strict as I’ve gotten older, and I wasn’t all that strict to begin with. Still, it’s a good time for family and my brother, sister in law and his kids are coming, so is my mom. Small group. I’m doing the chicken cooking and bringing in the rest – the veggies, the noodle pudding, the matzoh ball soup. So that’s it with me really … holiday prep.

The Dogs

The dogs have been complaining about their lack of screen time here. They want you to know that whatever I’ve been feeding them is making them itchy and miserable. They’ve tried one new food, Hills ZD but that didn’t sit right, so we’ve moved on to a single protein food. They want your pity, really. And not that I think they deserve pity or anything. Their lives just aren’t that rough. But I think they want your attention.

And I’m assuming now they’ve gotten what they want. So anyone else have allergic pets?

Healthy Food

Why is it that something that’s recommended for you as healthy doesn’t taste good? Case in point – my nutritionist suggested peppermint or Ginger tea for evenings. Aids in digestion she said. That’s assuming I can get it down. I can’t. I’ll stick with Green Tea. That’s the best I can do.

Another case in point – healthy for you bars – low sugar – low carb – Quest Bars, she said. They’re Okay … but they’re hard on my teeth. They don’t satisfy any need/craving in the afternoon I might have.

I’m just banging my head against the wall trying to eat right. I want to. I’m logging on www.myfitnesspal.com … it’s the hunger I find difficult to deal with. I’m not craving things so much anymore. But when I am hungry at night, there’s nothing to eat that’ll get me through till morning.

Any suggestions???
