(view spoiler)[There are so many sources which have influenced me in my writing, that listing them all can be a lengthy under-taking! The Bible (and stories in it) have definitely impacted me. I also borrow quite a bit from ancient Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology--readers familiar with these age-old classics might be able to spot their influence at different points in the story-line. More than anything, however, my book series is sort of a mingling of my two favorite faery-tales from childhood-- "Sleeping Beauty", and "Beauty and The Beast", combining them in an epic new twist of the beloved old classics. Readers, get ready to fall in-love all over again! (hide spoiler)]

Prayer is key! Many times I encounter writer's block, and find myself at a complete stand-still. Even though I have a general outline for each book in the series, the nitty-gritty details still can be difficult in formulating. In those moments, it's always a good reminder to stop and pray, and acknowledge God as the Divine Giver of every gift and talent I have--and, more importantly, to ask Him to lead and guide my writing. It never ceases to amaze me how quickly He always answers, making the book even better than before!
Second, great music! I have an endless list of artists, movie soundtracks and musical scores which I listen to while writing. That really helps get in the mood.

I'm currently about half-way through the writing of the 2nd book of The Crest of The BEAST Book Series, "Blood Covenant". I think readers are going to be very excited over the turn the plot takes in Book II, in which we see Adlai driven by her quest away from the comforts of Dombrey, and into the wilds of the North. The roles of the Muses (introduced in Book I) reappear stronger than ever, along with insight into their personal lives/how their own past history is directly linked with Adlai's own, in an exciting new drama that's more action-packed than ever!

No matter how long it takes, never give up! And don't compare how long it's taking you with how long it's taken other successful writers. I remember hearing about how Stephanie Meyers wrote the first book of the Twilight Saga in only 3 months--boy, do I wish I could crank them out that fast! (Laughs) My first book took me 8 years to write.
Second, edit, edit, edit!...And then let go and say a prayer.

Letting others catch a glimpse of the pictures and visions inside my own mind, and getting to share them with the world. And hopefully along the way, they'll be captivated just as I was, and be inspired to be the best versions of themselves possible, and to reach for goals that might otherwise seem unobtainable.

Listen to inspirational music (suitable to the mood/atmosphere I'm striving to achieve in my writing), and just push through--writing, like a lot of things, needs warming up before the works start flowing.
