It's hard. For me finding time without distraction is what keeps me from writing at the pace I would like. What I have found works is to do it in spurts. 20 minutes here, 30 minutes here, etc. As long as I can finish the piece of the story I'm focused on at the time, I'm able to come back and pick it up later Oh and the other thing is to wait until the kids are asleep. .

For me it's seeing all of the ideas and thoughts you have about a character or story come together and being able to share that with others. The sense of accomplishment and pride I felt in publishing this first book in the series was amazing. I could look at my book online and say "Look, I did that!"

Just put your thoughts down on paper, even if it is a disjointed mess to begin with. You'll be amazed at how the story comes together and at times feels like it's writing itself. Don't procrastinate! Even if you write a page at a time, keep writing.

I'm working to complete the Lucky Pen series. I have 7 books mapped out right now with characters, plots, and transitions between each of the books. I'm close to release for "Day 2" and hope to release 1 a month at this point.

I've read science fiction and fantasy books since I was in 3rd grade. I won a young authors contest in 3rd grade, and up until 6th grade, thought I would be a writer. I went into IT as a profession due to my love of computers and technology, and recently decided to get back intro writing which I've always wanted to do. It was really the almost nightly storytelling to my two boys (8 and 6) that got me thinking about writing again.
