Hi Jill. I’m not. Actually didn’t know there was a chapter in Sarasota.

I've long coopted life experiences in my stories, as I think all writers do. I've also taken bits and pieces from interesting people I've known and woven them into characters.
As far as a complete plot for a mystery, I don't think I've had that. Good writing is all about embellishment and imagination. And for inspiration, what's happening in the real world today is all the intrigue I can handle.

I love the Chatham character, but I could say the same about many I've created. The honest truth is that I only have enough time to do one series, and the current agreement with my publisher stipulates very precisely that those books will center around David Slaton.
I appreciate the suggestion, however--perhaps I can work Chatham and Scotland Yard into a future novel!

Thanks for asking, Karen. I’d love to write about Jammer again but simply have too many other books in the works right now. The good news is that I’ve “recruited” him to appear in the next David Slaton novel, Assassin’s Edge.
He also made an appearance in Assassin’s Silence a few years back.
If I can ever find the time I hope to give him more stories of his own—he definitely has a fan following.
Cheers!

Great question!
Slaton is on the way. I don't have specific dates yet, but a novella, tentatively titled Assassin's Dawn, will arrive later this year as an ebook. This is a prequel that goes back to Slaton's early years with Mossad.
The next full novel is scheduled for release in April 2022.
More to follow soon when dates and covers are firm.
Cheers!

Hi Elaine,
I have an idea for another Jammer book, but right now I just don’t have the time to write it. I’m committed to two more of my “assassin” books. I hope very much to get back to Jammer, and if I do I’ll make sure everyone knows.
Also, for what it’s worth, Jammer makes an appearance in Assassin’s Silence, and Anna Sorensen has become a fixture in the most recent David Slaton novels.
Thanks for getting in touch!

Hey Rich. Yeah I’m still flying. Seven years left (or maybe less, depending on how many books I sell:)
Glad you’re enjoying the books, and thanks for helping spread the word!
All the best.

A great question, and one I've been asking for a few years. Filming was supposed to begin this year in Paris, but the final studio sign off was interrupted by last November's terrorist attacks there.
Things are being rewritten for a different location. I've been told movies often take years to reach fruition, and so far that's been the case with The Perfect Assassin. Fingers crossed that it will all be resolved soon.

I've been very busy lately. Passenger 19, my third Jammer Davis book, arrived in January. On May 5th the next David Slaton book, Assassin's Silence will be released, and I'm currently writing another book in that series. I've also got a draft of a new series (one I'm really excited about) that ought to be published sometime in 2017.
Enjoy!

Absolutely! But there are always ways to manipulate an idea to make it your own. Let's face it--how many Special Forces heroes have stopped a nuclear weapon from going off at the last second?
And there are a lot of good stories in that lineup. The challenge for an author goes beyond the big picture idea and rests in wrapping that concept in details and characters that make it memorable.

I would have to say the freedom. I can work when I want, and have tremendous latitude to choose what happens to my characters.
To a degree, I can also write the books I want, although publishers do have a say (they are, after all, investing in an author's success).
There's nothing more exciting than having a clean sheet of paper and a good idea!
