Max China Eilise knew tonight was her last chance to escape, so she sucked air deep into her lungs and held it before continuing past the cupboard in the long passageway leading to the front door and freedom.
With trembling hands, she slowly scraped back the top and bottom bolts, so intent on making no sound she didn’t hear the cupboard door as it swung noiselessly open behind her...

Max China Hi Margaret. I wrote The Life & Times of William Boule as a spin-off book to The Sister and it moves the story along. I hadn't intended to write a series at the outset, but the Night of The Mosquito features Anderson, the hypnotherapist from the first book. I'm working on the concluding part of The Sister and I hope to release it in the latter half of next year. Thank you for your interest...
Max China Hi Nina,
Most of the players in my books originate from dreams, nightmares and people-watching. Certain behaviour patterns will attract my interest, (a lone woman crying on a park bench...a man stomping up a garden path with murder in his eyes...), and I'll ask myself, "What's your story?" I usually know straight away if I have someone I can build on.
The Sister grew out of an encounter I had with a woman I'd met in my twenties. She returned to haunt my nights years later, and when she did, I realised I had the bones of a story. Once I had that, the main characters seemed to take on lives of their own.
Thanks for taking an interest and I hope you enjoyed the story.

Max China Don't rush. Good stories don't grow on trees, so don't spoil a great idea by going at it too quickly. Then all the other sage advice, get a great cover designed, have the work edited and write a compelling back page pitch.
Max China Staring at the night sky, it struck me how insignificant we all are in the scheme of things and as I mulled it over, I thought to myself, there's a story here.
Max China I'm currently editing my latest novel, The Night of The Mosquito. It's on pre-release with amazon for a few weeks time, 29th September as a matter of fact.
Max China I don't suffer with it too much, but I've found telling someone where I'm up to in a chapter or scene, what's going on and what needs to happen, usually gets things flowing again.
Max China I'm never bored, there's always something going on around me I think I might be able to use in a book someday.
