Two things ...
First, take a break from writing. After finishing my first book I decided to write nothing for two months. Remember, writing requires a tremendous amount of energy. Do not treat it lightly. Work hard and then rest.
Second, an author friend of mine said when you are dealing with writer's block, sit down write about having writer's block. Talk about what it feels like to be fresh out of ideas, and the inability to write a single word. If you can do this - you just might find yourself writing again.

The physical act of writing. The discipline of sitting down and banging out letters, words, sentences, paragraphs and pages. Then sitting back and realizing you've created something and said something that until that point has never existed.

First - don't write for others. Write for yourself. Write everyday.
And then seek out someone who is a far better writer than you and give them what you've been working on. Ask them to be brutally honest with you. Chances are they will be ... and when you get your work back and it is slashed, corrected and torn apart you recognize that you are still alive and still breathing and everything will be okay.
More than that, you've learned a thing or two about writing which makes you better. Then do it all again.

I am tinkering with an idea about how to live a life in tune and in rhythm with our world. Why? To avoid stress, burnout, fatigue, etc. More to come ...

Writing for me is a way to refine my thoughts. Typically my inspiration comes from simply paying attention to our world. I notice things that cause me to form an idea and then connect that idea to a thought I had a few weeks before. This goes on in my head constantly. And there are so many things every single day that are inspiring - from the news cycle, to the sunrise, to my kids, to conversations with friends - we live in the midst of glory every minute. If we pay attention to that we will be endlessly inspired.

My most recent book - which drops Spring of 2015 - came out of many conversations I have had with people over the years who expressed doubt, skepticism and uncertainty about God, life, faith and spirituality. These were not people who were against God - but good, faithful people trying to make sense of God in this changing world of ours.
