Amanda Bridgeman Oooh, that's a tough one. I have so many favourites: Han and Leia (Star Wars), Aragorn and Arwen (LOTR), Princess Sorsha and Madmartigan (Willow), Neo and Trinity (The Matrix series), Gannicus and Melitta (Spartacus), Jack and Annie (Speed), Hawkeye and Cora (The Last of The Mohicans), Robin and Marian (Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves), and even though they were robbed of the chance to actually become a couple, Ripley and Hicks (Aliens). Each couple is different, but they all have a certain spark between them that makes me smile.
Amanda Bridgeman I draw inspiration from just about everywhere in my daily life. Once I have an idea, I tend to let them develop in my brain for a while. Then once I have enough of the story worked out - that's when I begin to write.
Amanda Bridgeman I've just finalised the copy-edit for AURORA: MERIDIAN (book 3 in the Aurora series), and now I am about to turn my attention to an edit of another stand-alone sci-fi novel, as well as writing another Aurora book.
Amanda Bridgeman 1) Listen to advice, but take it all with a pinch of salt. Everyone is different and what works for one, may not work for another. 2) Always say 'Thank you'. Appreciate when people go out of their way for you. It's a small world. 3) You need to decide if you want a career in writing, or whether you just want to write as a hobby. If you want a career in writing, then you must treat it as a business, and commit the time and attention it requires.
Amanda Bridgeman Being able to create the kind of stories that you, yourself, want to read, is great. But when other people read your stories and love them as much as you do - THAT is the best thing!
Amanda Bridgeman Sometimes you just have to sit down and force yourself to write, and eventually with a little effort the ideas and words can start to flow. Other times, you need to just work on something completely different, or take a break from writing altogether to let your mind refresh. I call these 'brain-breathers'.
