Victoria Hamilton YES! In fact I am starting to plan/write the next one, book #6, Lady Anne and the Witch of Wintermede. Looking forward to it. Thanks for the question!
Victoria Hamilton Hi Karen... I really wish I could say yes, but alas, the books take too long and too much angst to write. I absolutely LOVE that you love the characters - I do too - but the two books were not commercially successful. I thought the books were some of my best work, but they didn't find an audience. I think you have excellent taste... ;-)
Victoria Hamilton Jaymie would like to know too - LOL - but in truth... Joel is one of those guys who doesn't leave a woman until he has another one lined up, and... he found Heidi, who (not being 'in' with the people of Queensville) didn't know he lived with a girlfriend until it was too late. Joel and Jaymie were never a good fit. Living together, Jaymie was starting to grow disillusioned with Joel, and he is the kind of guy who can't handle that. At the first sign of a woman demanding more of him than he is capable of giving, he's... gone.
Victoria Hamilton Hi Patricia... I think there will be! I had so much fun writing Lady Anne and the Menacing Mystic that I just HAVE to write another, this time with more Darkefell in it!! Thanks so much for the question!
Victoria Hamilton Hi Lori... thanks for asking! I do intend to write a Lady Anne #5! It will probably be a year, though... I have several books lined up first! But I can't let them just hang there on the brink of marriage... LOL. So stay tuned for Lady Anne #5!
Victoria Hamilton Hi Lynne... I'm so sorry to take so long... I didn't see your question! There WILL be a book 2, Some Touch of Madness, I just need to write it... LOL. I so soooo happy you liked Gentlewoman's Guide... it was a labor of love, let me tell you, as dark as it is. I'm looking forward to writing Book 2...
Victoria Hamilton That's a tough one to answer. I'd start by reading books specifically for aspiring mystery writers, like Gillian Roberts excellent You Can Write a Mystery. You can even start by using her advice on her webpage: http://www.gillianroberts.com/writing...

In most cases you go from your solution backwards... in other words, you explain a murder, then figure out all the clues and suspects, then start at the beginning writing, laying the clues in as you go.

I hope this helps!
Victoria Hamilton What wonderful timing you have, Rachel! LOL!! Leave It to Cleaver is set to release in audio format on November 28th! Here is the url: https://tantor.com/leave-it-to-cleave...

Thanks so much for asking! I do hope you enjoy it; I'm sooooo proud of this one! Do let me know what you think!
Victoria Hamilton I've been lucky enough to never experience it. If I do run into difficulties, it's a sign that there is something wrong with the work in progress; something I'm not getting, somewhere I'm going wrong. I need to go back and figure out what it is that I need to change.
Victoria Hamilton Where do I start?? I love writing; I'm so lucky to do it for a living. I love talking to readers, and I love inventing new plots. I love creating characters and watching their interaction. I love writing series', and getting to know the characters I've created.

And I just LOVE working at home.
Victoria Hamilton Write. Keep writing. Never stop writing. And read: keep reading. Never stop reading! Writers tend to read a lot!
Victoria Hamilton It's a secret!! Or some of it is, anyway. ((I have a secret project I'm dying to talk about, but can't for now!)) I am actually starting work on Vintage Kitchen Mystery #7, No Grater Danger!
Victoria Hamilton This is never a problem... so far I've never NOT been inspired to write.
Victoria Hamilton It's funny, but the idea for Leave It To Cleaver came from a simple passing comment by a friend about someone she once knew who knitted identical sweaters for several people. That added on to a book idea I already had for my Vintage Kitchen Mysteries about a long-ago mystery from Queensville, two teenage girls missing at the same time. It's funny how it works, but ideas definitely float in the ether, for me, and then attach themselves to a particular book idea, and it goes on from there! Of course, that's when the real work starts!
