Alec Sousa Recently I've been cruising through more of the Hap and Leonard series by Joe R. Landsdale. I love his brand of humor.

Other than that, I went down a path with Preston and Child, catching up with the Nora Kelly series; the New Mexico setting was great for summer. I've been in a mood for techno thrillers, generally, so I've been re-reading "Jurassic Park" and "The Lost World" by Crichton.

If you want a good summer recommendation, "Joyland" by Stephen King is one I wish I could read again for the first time. And if you want a blockbuster feel, I love "Beast" by Peter Benchley. It might be crazy to recommend that instead of "Jaws" but even though the movie is an all-timer for me, I think "Beast" is a more entertaining read.
Alec Sousa My great uncle was an immigrant to the United States, and he brought a Stradivarius violin with him. At some point, it needed a repair, so he brought it to a shop. The shop keeper knew how valuable it was, so he stole it, giving my uncle a different violin when he came to retrieve it. As an immigrant, with limited English, my great uncle had no recourse, and the violin was lost. Violins made by the Stradivari family have sold for as much as $20 million in the last couple of years, so I think there's a seed here for a story about a stolen violin.
