He thinks so too. Loves it so much that when we were out and about back in the 90s and he saw someone wearing the T shirt he'd buy them a drink!

Every so often things happen! But should be just fine most of the time, and if it acts up, you can try to refresh as that often helps. xoxo

My favorite oatmeal bowl, such a delicate beauty. But it has nothing on the bottom except the number 24 stamped into it. It's the only one of that pattern I've ever found... antique store shopping brought it home to me!

Hi Djb, thank you! Sorry, I just saw this! There has been interest for a movie, just have to wait and see if it ever really happens!

You can see I need to pay more attention to this question section!! Thank you Brenda ... I wrote that ... never finished it ... I was channeling my feelings about an ex...🤣

Joe ran the Black Dog Tavern on Martha's Vineyard for 25 years, he "put the dog on the T-shirt," and now he's "retired" ... but I don't give him a moment's rest because he manages everything about my books for Spring Street Publishing.

I never get too far from Earl Grey ... I've mixed and matched, worked with a tea dealer and developed a tea I love so much I finally put it in my web store ~ it's Earl Grey with lavender and rose petals, I seem to be addicted, even take it with us when we travel to England! Coals to Newcastle! Yorkshire Gold ~ is that the brand or the flavor? I'm not familiar with it.

Hi Mae ... you guessed right, I'm definitely a morning person. I get up pretty early, around 4. It's quiet and I have it all to myself! I make tea and carry it to my studio, Jack, my cat follows behind, and work begins. I work long too, time outs for walks and sometimes a nap, but usually done for the day around 5 or 6 pm. I always love knowing the work ethics of others, see how they do what they do! Have a wonderful day! Susan

That's something else I would love to do, create a quilt journal. I don't really make quilts, only collect them. I do have a couple I made a very long time ago. But then, just as I was getting into it, I discovered I could paint! So I began to watercolor quilts and collect the real things at yard sales and antique stores. I'm inspired by quilters too . . . the patterns, the colors, the history and beauty.

I haven't written that story yet . . . would love to. We moved from Hollyoak to the house we live in now (the one I show in my Blog all the time) in 1989 ... Hollyoak was too small for Joe!

Holly Oak is owned by another woman now. She has taken great care of it ~ I've visited her and it several times. It was the perfect size for just me, and certainly a shelter from the storm and the door to my future. I still dream about it. But when Joe came along, it was a whole other story. He was too big for it, had stuff, loved books, was a space-taker-upper. 💞We bought our wonderful "House of Creativity" in 1989 and have lived there ever since.

I was selling my watercolors before I left California (and my marriage), and because of the signed paintings (I told myself) I decided to keep Branch ... but I think the real reason was that I never cared for the alliteration of Susan Stewart, too many "S's" ~ plus, instead of always hearing "How do you spell Stewart?" ~ Branch was easy, I could say "Branch like a tree" and be done with it. I'm glad I did, it always fit me, and I think sometimes the right name is one of the pieces that fall into place for destiny.

There's a long story about that in my book Martha's Vineyard, Isle of Dreams...how I stopped flying and learned to love the train! I flew for years, but never really liked it, too much fuss and noise and then of course you have to leave the ground! So, something happened, long story, and I thought, let's try the train, and I've never looked back! Just forward, besides the train, to lots of ships! The slow way is good for me.

Oh definitely. But I mostly connect with Mother Seraphima. We write all the time. She knit me a beautiful shawl for my birthday . . . I love them all so much. I'm so happy you got to visit. Wasn't it pure magic? Everyone I know now wants to be a nun and go live in that amazingly creative place!

I've kept diaries all my life . . . and forever I've wanted to tell the story of how I ran away from California and tried to leave my broken heart behind, and "accidentally" started my life over all alone on Martha's Vineyard, an island in the Atlantic Ocean where they had this thing called "winter." I don't know anyone who hasn't had some form of this same sort of torture, and I thought my story might help others going through it. Because there is light at the end of the tunnel. You just can't see it while you're going through it. So I put it all in diary form, added lots of pictures of my little house in the woods, my little shelter from the storm, and called it, Martha's Vineyard Isle of Dreams.

Love is the inspiration, and it's always there! The sun rises, inspiration, the ocean rolls in, inspiration, my girlfriend brings over cherry cheesecake, inspiration, I read a line in an old diary, inspiration, I get a new tea cup, inspiration ~ must have a tea party, I hear a song, inspiration . . . 🎵 and it goes and it goes like a river flows, slowly to the sea . . .🎶

It's spring, and I am cleaning my studio within an inch of its life. When its done and hundreds of pounds lighter, I have several new projects I've been mulling over, each one more alluring to me than the next! It's a conundrum. But in the cleaning, I think I will discover the answer.

Sorry I didn't see this question sooner! We went to Scotland last Autumn 2016. Stayed in the Highlands and loved it. Where did you go for your month?
