The series is lightly connected but I've tried to write every book so that you can read it without having picked up any of the other ones. The only books that does not apply to are Because of You and I'll be Home for Christmas. Back to You can be read as stand alone but it answers a cliffhanger (that I promise I will never do again) from Because of You.

I don't know, honestly. Sometimes, things just come to me, like cool ideas or characters. And most of the time, they're not ready to start being worked on so I just let them marinate in my subconscious. I'm a firm believer in letting your subconscious work on things for a while. 9 times out of 10, that will fix a lot of problems for me.

Read a lot. Study your craft. Don't be in such a rush to hit publish that you put a crappy draft out there (trust me, I know of what I speak). Craft will ensure you're still around writing in a few years.

Well, to be honest, half the time, I'm bawling as I write them. I figure if I can get my own emotions worked up, then hopefully some of that emotion will turn up on the page for readers, too.
I have to admit, though, that writing is cathartic for me. It really helps me process everything, you know?

I wanted to write Major Patrick McLean's story for a while. Originally, his significant other was supposed to have been killed but apparently, Sam had other ideas. She's one tough army lady!
