Julia London People and life's tribulations. I have always been interested in the relationships between people, how they form, how they grow, how they fall apart for a variety of reasons. Sometimes it is from situations I have experienced, but mostly, it's just seeing something or reading something that gives me a spark of an idea.
Julia London Good question! I am not sure when. For a long time I considered myself as someone who was trying to be a writer, even after I was published. And honestly, even now, I wonder if I am someone who is just lucky. But...when I look at books I've written, I realize that I really am a writer. I really do have that talent for putting a story together and that's not something that comes to everyone naturally. So I guess I really am a writer. But that question of is this real, or am I just lucky, never really leaves me. My friends say I have imposter syndrome :-)

Julia London I would love to do that, but time and other commitments has been a problem! Did you pick up the next books in the series? George and Honor appear in those books
Julia London I don't think this book will get an audio version. It's an older one, and publishers are reluctant to make audio of older books where the return might not be worth the investment. But I would really like to see it in audio, too!
Julia London My favorite couple of all time is Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy. That is one of the very few books I've read more than once, just because I love the sizzle between them. Another favorite is the Duke of Westmoreland and Whitney in Judith McNaught's Whitney, my Love. Classic!

Julia London Ana, at present I don't have plans to write a book for Mercy. She felt too young to me to have a really juicy love story. Do you know that Stanhope first appeared in The Hazards of Hunting a Duke? That scoundrel has been around a couple of my books :-). I think he also made an appearance in the third book of that series, the Dangers of Deceiving a Viscount.

If I ever find the time, I would like to write a novella about Mercy. But time is the issue! AUGH
Julia London Hi Kristen. Sorry, but there won't be a book about Madgoose. I felt sorry for him, too. Unfortunately, I wrote those books so long ago that I'd have to do a deep dive to resurrect him, and I don't have the time for it with my current schedule. But I'm starting a new historical series next year set in 18th century Scotland. :-). Just a suggestion to take your mind off Madgoose.
Julia London SUDDENLY DATING will be out in early November :-). Thanks for your interest!
Julia London It definitely ranks up there near the top of epilogues I have written. I am so glad you liked the book. I wrote it more than 10 years ago and I am thrilled that readers are still finding it.
Julia London Hi Miriam. At present, I don't have any other Cabot books planned. I felt like Mercy was too young where the series left her. But I may do a novella about her soon. I am starting a new series about English women and Scottish men. Stay tuned!
Julia London Hi Eileen. I would start with the most recent, the Cabot Sisters, just because I know they are all readily available. Trouble with Honor, the Devil Takes a Bride, and The Scoundrel and the Debutante. Enjoy!
Julia London Which questions would you like to see answered? I am thinking of writing a free epilogue for readers who want to see how life unfolded for the three sisters. I am currently working on a new book (not Pine River), but hope to do this in the next couple of months.
Julia London Through reading and living life. My own experiences inform me, and great books inspire me.
Julia London I am writing a new book set in the fictional town of Lake Haven. It doesn't have a title yet, but I'm loving the setting.
Julia London Keep at it. Writing is like anything else you do - the more of it you do, the better you get.
Julia London Working for myself. Of course that comes with ups and downs like every career, but just having the flexibility to work as I see fit and to create worlds where I'd like to be is amazing.
Julia London I don't think I've ever experienced writer's block. But I have run into lack of motivation from time to time. Usually I have to step away for a few days and let my brain reset. I get out of the house, into the world, and just breathe.
