Gigi Pandian I'm so glad you're enjoying the series! I'm happy to report that the series will continue -- I just gave a draft of Book 4 to my critique partners :)
Gigi Pandian Yes! There are 3 vegan recipes in the back of each of the Accidental Alchemist novels, plus I've got a few on my website as well: http://gigipandian.com/recipes/

I hope you enjoy them!
Gigi Pandian I've always made up stories, since I was little. But I never consciously thought I'd become a writer until my adult life. I began writing a mystery novel as a hobby in my mid-20s. I discovered National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), which helped me finish writing a full draft of my first novel, ARTIFACT. On a lark, I entered my work in a writing competition, and to my surprise, I won the Malice Domestic Grant! The grant is meant to foster the next generation of traditional mystery writers. That's when it occurred to me I should take my writing more seriously than a hobby, and was the push I needed to join writing organizations and learn more about the craft of writing. It's been a very fun ride.
Gigi Pandian The books are all stand-alone mysteries, so you can read them in any order for the fun of the adventure and mystery. To see the character relationships progress, though, reading them in order is best. But definitely feel free to pick up any of them, if a certain story and setting appeals to you. Hope that helps -- and I hope you enjoy the one you check out!
Gigi Pandian I spend a lot more time writing than anything else. I self-published only one book, and it was so much work that I knew I wanted to work with publishers who would use their time and expertise on the other aspects of mystery publishing.

I also spend a lot of time attending author events, such as mystery conventions. There, it's a combination of promoting my books and getting to know other readers and writers -- which is very inspiring for getting back to writing!

I pop onto social media periodically, because it's fun to connect with readers and other writers, but when I'm writing I stay OFF the internet!
Gigi Pandian So happy to hear you're enjoying the book. It is indeed the start of a new series. There will be a new book each January. (Now it's back to work on the next one!)
Gigi Pandian My father is Tamil, so I've traveled to India several times and there's a big India connection in my Jaya Jones Treasure Hunt mystery series. Jaya is a half-Tamil historian who solves present-day crimes connected to historical treasures related to India's colonial history.
Gigi Pandian Three of my favorite things about being a writer:

1. Friendships with other writers. The women in my writing group have become some of my best friends; getting to know my favorite authors as real people has been inspiring; and the larger mystery writing community is full of wonderful people. I can't imagine my life without them.

2. Reviewers comparing my books to one of my favorite authors. When I set out to write a mystery novel, I knew I wanted to write books like Elizabeth Peters, combining mystery, adventure, history, romance, and humor. I fantasized that my books would be appreciated by fans of hers, and it was amazing when that dream came to pass.

3. Hearing from readers who connect with my work. When you're hard at work on a novel that you're pouring your soul into, it's impossible to tell what other people will think of it. I'd keep writing regardless, but it wouldn't be nearly as fun without hearing from readers!
