When it comes to my work, all it refers to is my own beliefs and faith. I am a Christian and I write fiction, therefore my work might be categorized as Christian fiction - although I do hate these labels that are put upon on.

At this point no, I'm trying to get my rights back on that book series, and the publisher isn't budging, so no. Not at this point. However, I have learned never to say never! Thanks for asking.

Well, I really thought and thought about this one, but oh dear, my life is very boring in comparison to the lives of my mystery characters. So, I really can't think of a 'mystery' in my family or extended family that would qualify as something worthy to write a whole novel around. Plus, I very much write fiction. I would be utterly horrified if half the things I wrote about actually came true in real life!
I get my ideas from news, from things around me, from my imagination and playing 'What if?' I play 'What If' a lot. What if that car parked over there had a dead body in it? What if I was wandering around the store with a family member and suddenly they weren't there any more?
That's what I do a lot. I play What If.

Cheryl,
SO SORRY. I just noticed your question here. (I guess I need to come here more often!) Please send me an email with your request - Linda@writerhall.com
Here is my review blog - https://lrhallbooks.blogspot.com. I would suggest that you read my review policy along the side. I only review 2 books per month, so I'm not a very prolific blogger, and because I also write, I probably only read 2 books per month - not like some bloggers!

Hi John! I have written both police procedurals and PI novels. My most popular PI novels are the Teri Blake-Addison novels, STEAL AWAY and THE KING JAMES MURDERS. That series has 2 books in it so far, My newest mystery features a woman sailing captain who gets embroiled in a mystery. That one is NIGHT WATCH, and is my baby because it's the newest!
Thanks for asking.

Reading other people's stories, watching movies.

I'm currently working on Book #2 in the Em Ridge Mystery series. Book one - NIGHT WATCH, was released in October, and I'm hoping to get Book two - The Bitter End, out in June.

My best advice? Write, write, write and read, read, read. Never stop writing and never stop reading.

First of all, my sincere apologies for not answering this question sooner! I'm still wandering my way around and figuring out Goodreads as an author (got the reader bit down pat!).
I think the best thing about being a writer is that I get to tell stories. I get to make up things. I get to stay in my jammies all day playing with my imaginary friends.

Writer's block? I generally leave my house if Writer's Block hits. No really, I do. I find if I'm much more productive if I pack up my laptop and head to a coffee shop for the afternoon.

Hello Cathy,
Sorry it's taken me so long to get back and answer this question! I'm just figuring out my way around Goodreads as an author. :)
The answer to your question is YES. I believe all of my books have a 'hint' of romance in them. In my opinion, romance is the key to all good fiction. Really, it is. In Night Watch, which begins a brand new mystery series for me - the romance between my key characters is going to develop over the course of several books, rather than in one book, as it does in all LIS books.
